GYD…Grade Your Draft!

all 6 point TDs, 1 ppr, 0.25 ppc (point per carry), rest are standard
12 team league
4th pick overall.

QB - Dak (11th)
RB - Pacheco (5th)
RB - Pollard (6th)
WR - Lamb (1st)
WR - London (2nd)
WR - Moore (4th)
TE - McBride (3rd)
FLEX - Diggs (8th) or Etienne (7th)
K - Boswell (16th)
DEF - none yet
BN - Diggs (8th) or Etienne (7th)
BN - Charbonnet (9th)
BN - Spears (10th)
BN - Fields (12th)
BN - J. Higgins (13th)
BN - Ayomanor (14th)
BN - Ferguson (15th)

first of the year, I think it is kind of weak, but another fantasy guru friend said he actually really likes it, idk.

Obviously not to happy with my RBs, but I think they are serviceable, with the hope for Charb later in the year, or a mid season pickup. Probably reached on spears, but the lack of RB, I didn't want to lose out on the TEN backfield for myself. I skipped on barkley with the 4th pick, I probably don't do that next time. McBride could be a top 10 non QB finish if he gets more than 2 TDs this year, and a healthy Dak should propel Lamb. Fields has QB1 upside on any giving week

So what did it go…

1 - Jamaar
2 - Bijon
?

Ceedee, London, McBride is nice in a 12-man.

PPC changes things some too — never done a per carry.

I’d imagine one of those bench guys will perform above expected which may allow you to trade bait for some RB depth.

No RB in league history has repeated what Barkley did last year the following season, so don’t mind the pass there. He’ll be really good but absolutely no way to replicate that.

Chase
Bijon
Gibbs (who i would have taken, actually had him and barkley last year)

It’s great for entertainment and of course they have to do it, but next to no stock in them!

Grade my draft - I got a Guinness first round and a Guinness in the second round. and a Guinness in the third round, and a Guinness in the fourth round. For some reason I don't remember what happened after that..

I took nacua over ASB in half pt ppr and now I regret it
I was nervous pre-draft on whether I would be in a draft spot in the back half where I would have to make a decision on Puka. From a pure points projection I had him ranked as WR #3 ahead of CeeDee Lamb. But the situation with Stafford's back is worrisome, plus I had buyer's remorse from taking him in the first round of a league last year.

My strategy at #4 in CTG League 2 (12 team, 1/2 ppr) was to go WR 1st round, RB 2nd round, elite TE/WB 3rd round, then another RB in the 4th. But in picking #4 the 2nd RB idea flew out the window when the RB choices were Breece Hall and James Conner vs. Terry McLaurin, Xavier Worthy, Davante Adams, Courtland Sutton, Jameson Williams, Calvin Ridley and Zay Flowers.

I had McLaurin, Worthy and Adams all rated as round 4 guys but with McLaurin unsigned I passed, Worthy has a week 10 bye same as my #1 pick Lamb, and Adams would give me a WR/RB stack since Kyren was my #2 pick, which I didn't want. So I took Sutton who was a slight reach. On the short turn I still had all the other guys available, along with Waddle and Devonta Smith. If McLaurin had signed on Sunday I may have taken him. But instead I rolled with Worthy who should get some Rashee-free games at some point this year. Mahomes played a lot in the preseason and it looks the vertical game is making a comeback. That started a massive WR run where 12 of the next 16 picks before my next one were WRs. But I had 3 already so I was OK.

After that I felt like the rest of the draft kind of flowed my direction. RB Swift was still available in Round 6 (round 5 value IMO), Jaylen Warren in Round 7 was fair value, Steelers were using Kaleb Johnson on kick returns (?) in the preseason finale, this is a 66/33 Warren backfield at least for a while. Then Travis Hunter was still there late in Round 8 as an upside #4 WR. And then I got the upside TE I was targeting in Tyler Warren in Round 9 and paired him with Njoku in Round 11, who should be fine while Flacco plays. At Round 10 I took Austin Ekeler, who will get some run early as well.

Final roster
QB - Allen (3rd)
RB - Kyren (2nd)
RB - Swift (6th)
WR - Lamb (1st)
WR - Sutton (2nd)
TE - Njoku (11th) or T Warren (9th)
FLEX1 - Worthy (4th)
FLEX2 - J Warren (7th) or Henderson (8th)
K - Lutz (15th)
DEF - Pittsburgh (12th)
BN - Ekeler (10th)
BN - J Warren or T Hunter
BN - Nkoju or T. Warren
BN - C. Kirk (13th)
BN - Ray Davis (14th)

I think my team is built for the long haul of the regular season. Love the QB, like the WRs, RBs should be average, TEs could be a steal, solid kicker/D. Solid B.

I just completed my auction/keeper/idp league.

Budget is $230
1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 FLEX, 1K, 1 D, 2 LB, 2 DB, 1 DL, 6 BN

Keepers were:
Jahmyr Gibbs - $56
Brock Bowers - $21
Aiden Hutchinson - $10

QB - Josh Allen ($35)
RB - Jahmyr Gibbs ($56)
RB - Austin Ekeler ($5)
WR - Tetairoa McMillan ($20)
WR - Jameson Williams ($13)
TE - Brock Bowers ($21)
FLEX - Emeka Egbuka ($11)
K - Tyler Loop ($1)
BN - Jordan Mason ($12)
BN - Braedon Allen ($10)
BN - Zach Charbonnet ($6)
BN - Tyler Warren ($8)
BN - Matthew Golden ($10)
BN - Keon Coleman ($3)

DL - Aiden Hutchinson ($10)
D - Jared Verse ($1)
LB - Alex Singleton ($3)
LB - Patrick Queen ($1)
DB - Jordan Battle ($1)
DB - Antoine Winfield ($2)

Found out keeping Hutchinson was a mistake even if DL IDPs are a premium. Most went under $10. Probably overbid on Allen, think I would've preferred to go after an higher tier WR (Nabers $47, Chase $70, AJ Brown $37, Puka $50) or RBs (Chase Brown $52, Josh Jacobs $50, TreVeyon $30, Omarion $33) and then gone after a sleeper QB because they always go for nothing

Travis Hunter went for $29. Potential cheat code in this league since you can plug him in at DB and accumulate points for WR. Basically an extra FLEX. We'll see if that breaks the game this year.

Overall, I am happy about the potential my RBs have if injuries/age/production become factors. WRs a bit weak - we’ll see if anyone takes the leap or possibly trade a RB or Tyler Warren later. I couldn’t help myself with Warren bc the value was there, that’s how I ended up with Bowers last year.

Idp is always a crapshoot.

Where's the hole? I dont see it, and that flex2 spot you'll have options where atleast one will be obvious

You got some of the better handcuffs that when the time comes will over take that rb2 spot, keon probably a steal and the valuable young WRs, I like it

Golden for $10 might be steal of draft. Love the upside of that kid — lot of weapons but has potential.

Just had my 2nd of 7~ drafts

12 team, 1ppr, all 6point tds, rest standard
9th overall pick

QB - Dak (10th)
RB - B. Hall (5th)
RB - D. Swift (6th)
WR - M. Nabers (1st)
WR - D. London (2nd)
WR - JSN (3rd)
TE - G. Kittle (4th)
Flex - C. Olave (7th)
K - Boswell (15th)
DEF - Eagles (16th)
BN - S. Diggs (8th)
BN - J. Warren (9th)
BN - T. Spears (11th)
BN - B. Purdy (12th)
BN - O. Gordon (13th)
BN - M. Monangai (14th)

I did it again, no RB until 5th round. While I was low on Hall, I feel like he fell into my lap, and was an easy decision, I got swift to pair it up, with atleast 1 of his backups just incase.

It is hard to beat me 1-4, I didn't necessarily want JSN, but just like Hall (and maybe Kittle too) he fell to me IMO.
Didn't think I needed another WR after Diggs, so just started to grab potential performers if the time share partner is hurt, or if they take over the lead in snap%. I'm forgetting if it was 9th or 11th but I was very upset as I had intentions on the come back to take Allen to handcuff Hall, but the 12/1 pick took him, that was my only regret/thing that would have solidified this team for me.

The strategy of picking your own handcuffs is a tough one. When you have them, great. But it sure does eat up your roster spots.

Seems like Warren fell in your lap in round 11.

Overall solid looking team.

Good stuff.

Two-keeper league I just finished...

Gibbs as a keeper, and I grabbed Jeantay in the 3rd round.

Breece fell into my lap in the 7th round! I had no intention of stalking him, but I had to at that point, right?

Question for you all -- would you handcuff your 3rd RB? Or is that irresponsible?

I didn't, but I had the chance with Braelon (who I still think can be a really good back in the league).

Yeah Jenty in the 3rd is criminal lol he’s first rounder everywhere.

I must get in your league 🙏🏼

Simple --

Two-keeper league, and we do not assign keepers to their previous draft spot.

So, essentially, we start in the 3rd round.

The discussion to move to a keeper-slotted slotted is on the table, once again.

probably reached on charb, just wanted that solidified with walker, and then Chubb I had on my queue, and had about 10 seconds when I got back to my computer, so I may have reached on that too, but that was by mistake, not upset about it, but not happy either lol. I just need Adams to be serviceable, and Olave to get 150+ targets please.

That's a good looking squad. Surprised to see a QB like Lamar last to Round 3 with 6 point pass TD system.

I joined a league with three firsts for me that made it hard to pass up: 14 teams, with a superflex slot, and also with 2 IDP slots. Plus with two regular flex spots I'm going to be combing through the trash to find bench players.

14 is soooo tough.

Honestly I only enjoy 10 anymore.

Never do superflex, not on purpose or anything but always tried mentally going through not going qb early lmao, but I guess it's stupid

I love IDP.

Travis Hunter will probably go very early if he can accumulate offensive stats with your settings. Be prepared for that.

Otherwise it really depends on how heavily they score big plays (sacks, ints).

I’ve done both in my league. Everyone felt it broke the game a bit when we scored sacks/TFLs at around 3.5-4 for sacks and 1.5/2 for TFLs and it got nuked back to 2 and 1 pt. We also score Tackles as 1 pt.
I personally prefer the big plays scoring bc it actually makes you consider if you want to go for the high variance players like DEs. Otherwise everyone’s just drafting MLBs and Box DBs

Well that was an interesting experience. Ended up with pick #8 which I found to be difficult. Felt like I was always chasing the runs on positions.

Pick 1 started well enough. I was sure the big 4 QBs would go 1-4, but they didn't so I snagged the last of them, Hurts with my pick. By my 2nd pick at #21 nine QBs had been taken, which is pretty normal, so I was in no hurry to pick a superflex. I chose Drake London who was at the top of my board.

After that, things got tough. 7 of the next 8 picks were RB, taking a big bite out of the pool. Bowers went, a couple of more QBs, and somehow Kamara got taken right before my pick, which left Achane available. I've been avoiding him for the most part this year but with a full ppr and at Pick 32 I felt the risk was worth it. I grabbed Ollie Gordon late in the draft as a backup insurance.

By my 4th round pick (#43) 14 QBs had been selected, 18 RBs, and 13 WRs. The numbers said avoid RB but Ken Walker was my top RB left (though a little bit of a reach) and I felt I could load up on WRs the next few rounds. I thought about taking Hunter who I could slide into a D spot and have a nice edge there, but I failed to pull the trigger. He went at the start of round 5.

After my 4th pick, 9 of the next 14 went WR, and QBs 15-17 went off the board. Pickens was sniped right before me, so I went with Xavier Worthy as my WR2.

The next 12 picks before my 6th selection were spread, 6 WRs, 3 RBs and QBs 18-20. QBs were coming of the board slower than I expected so I held off another round and took Zay Flowers. No WRs were taken the next 9 picks so again I felt like I was ending runs instead of starting them, which is not ideal. Before my next pick QBs 21-26 were taken, and I was starting to worry I had blown my superflex opportunity.

Ridley was there at Round 7 along with Pearsall, Croskey-Merritt and Jaylen Warren. Or Darnold, Danny Dimes or Rodgers. Ridley was my highest rated so I said fuck it and took him. Swing around to Round 8 and all the others are gone except one, Sam Darnold. So I grabbed him which left me just with a TE and defensive picks as my open starters.

A mini-TE run ensued with Kelce, Andrews and Warren getting selected. With pick 9 I took Kraft, who in my mind is the last of a group of tier 2 TEs. With round 10 I felt I could go BPA and Jordan Addison was sitting there. He'll be a nice flex option when he returns in Week 4.

At this point I'm 10 picks in and have only 2 RBs. The rest of my draft was queueing up RB options and taking best available and some lottery picks, along with my defensive selections, which at this point it was pretty clear were going to be in the last 3 or 4 rounds for pretty much everyone.

Final Draft Roster

QB- Hurts
RB 1 & 2 - Achane and Walker
WR 1 & 2 - London and Worthy
Flex 1 & 2 - Flowers and Ridley
Superflex - Darnold
Tight End - Kraft
Defensive Team (I thought it was weird having a defensive team plus IDP) - Steelers
D Players - Kaden Elliss and Kyle Hamilton
Bench - Addison, Tank Bigsby, Ollie Gordon, Tahj Brooks and Kendre Miller (two lottery picks).

Yahoo AI seemed to like it. I have the highest projected point total for Week 1.

I feel like 10 team draft nobody has holes and the draft doesn't mean as much
I definitely can see that angle --

Two of my leagues were basically forced into a 10 team concept years back due to late drop outs and we've really enjoyed it. These are old friends leagues where half the fun is just staying connected.

Now, for serious Fantasy I wholeheartedly agree on 12.
