Game 3's Thread

Sammy is hush hush on it from what I've read around the net, nothing on any of the majors, or local papers.

BTW

Rumor has it Calderon is starting tonight?..any thruth

http://thestar.blogs.com/raptors/2008/04/biggest-game-of.html

Action: T.J. stays.
Reaction: Sayeth Sam:

"He has been better as a starter and Jose has proven he can come off the bench and give us something. To me, why would I do that? At least, I know if T.J. struggles, I’ve got Jose who last game played well. But if we do that and Jose struggles, where do I go?”

Translation: We know T.J. has proven to play like a pooch if we bring him off the bench and if he’s going to do anything at all, it has to be as a starter, even if it means only playing him five minutes a half.

sounds like Calderon is going to keep coming off the bench so Ford's soew pussy doesn't bust a rupture.

nothing concrete... makes sense after TJ's shooting so far...

lots of push for it on the radio today though...

maybe Moon over Bargnani too.

there's also the speculation at rotoworld:

T.J. Ford will likely keep his starting point guard job for the Raptors, while Jason Kapono looks primed to move into the starting lineup over Rasho Nesterovic.
Sam Mitchell knows he'll get nothing out of Ford off the bench (bad attitude) and Calderon generally plays well as a sub. Mitchell is hoping that Ford gets off to a hot start in Game 3 tonight in Toronto, but if he desn't, he'll probably get Calderon in the game in a hurry.

I have played with many people like Sam Mitchell--

Manipulation and POlitics is what it is all about--

Imagine the Head coach of the Raptors was Jose Juan Valerio SANCHEZ??

Who do you think he would start? Calderone or Ford?? Obviously Calderone

Mitchell's ego will lose this series for sure, Calderone is much better especially when you need points. Tj Ford is a CBA guard, he cannot shoot and Calderone can shoot and drive for layups and he makes everyone better.

Not to mention Calderone has heart and is trying.

You have your answer who is starting right above here

Also some coaches will lose but will lose with their guys in the game

Ford is a little whiny clown, Millwaukee was smart to get him out of town, he is not a good player, he needs to play with Kobe or a Shaq to give him a backhand in the face, if he wants to talk smack and be a little whiny bitch learn how to shoot a jump shot--

Bottom line is with you starting your team was down 20 in both games, that comes down to the point guard not controlling the offense

Bye the way Sam MITCHELL is a big idiot, he looks like a crack head on Crystal Meth on the sidelines with all the facial twitches and erratic body movements

The Raptors head coach confirmed Ford would start in Toronto's playoff game against the visiting Orlando Magic on Thursday, ending speculation around the point guard position.
''T.J. Ford is going to start, that's not even an issue,'' Mitchell said after the morning s shootaround. ''He's just got to come out and be aggressive and play and he'll be fine.''
The Raptors were trailing the Magic 2-0 heading into Game 3 of their best-of-seven opening round playoff series, giving up double-digit leads to Orlando in the first quarter of both games.
Mitchell had said he would change the lineup, and was mum on the other four starters Thursday.
Ford struggled in both games in Orlando, and had a couple of costly turnovers in the first quarter of Game 2, finishing with 11 points on 2-for-17 shooting. Backup point guard Jose Calderon sparked a Raptors' rally en route to an 18-point performance.
''Sometimes you hit a rough patch but we're home, we're in our environment, (Ford's) attitude is great today, and you've got to have a short-term memory in this game,'' Mitchell said.
Ford said he was happy to be back in the friendly confines of the Air Canada Centre.
''Just having an advantage being at home, in a comfortable environment . . .'' Ford said. ''At the end of the day, I still feel confident, I don't think I lost my confidence, it's just a matter of making shots.''
Raptors all-star Chris Bosh said it's crucial for Ford to have a strong Game 3, at both ends of the court.
''We need T.J. When he's playing well, and he's knocking down shots and finding teammates, he plays a lot better defence,'' Bosh said. ''Everybody plays better defence when you're on fire on offence, because you just feel like that. I think if he just plays the basketball we know he's capable of playing, he can really help us out.
''He has to stay aggressive . . . T.J. really has to look for his offensive game tonight.''

Tj FORD is the biggest loser in the NBA. talk about a choker, who shoots 2 from 17 in the playoffs???

If you know you cannot shoot, drive and dish the ball then???

If Mitchell had any brains he would go with one Point guard only- Tj FORD is a cancer, when he plays Raps are down consistently by 15+, with Calderone they can win, yes SAMMY use your head. when TJ FORd came back this team went south for the rest of the season--

Raptors won at Boston and at Spurs when Ford was out--

you should organize ur thread so ur plays are in the first part dude haha.. i hate searchin through all this bullshit.. what do you look like ?

Detroit -3.5 -110 4 units (played at 5dimes)

I'll give more detailed explanation tonight when I get back. Love the spot. With how the first two games went this worked out perfect.

I will tail you on this one . Come to think of it , I should have been tailing you all year .This will be my first wager of the weekend . I will be placing this bet at a sportsbook in Las Vegas , surounded by fellow degenerates..

I fear Laker laziness, and I think if the Celts/Hawks series is going to have an Over, this is it.

BOL BAR
BC,

I agree on that hova in ATL...just haven't looked at it enough yet...Hawks will be loose..my reasoning there in summaion for now is the HCA is crappy at Phillips..always has been in the ATL from watching playoff series for 20 years there...its such a lackluster sports town...I think ATL may even have lead at half but will wilt...the BS they talked before series is in the big 3's heads..this is a sweep..and I think this game will not be close...

Lakers may be lazy..but this is such a bad defense..and the Nugs do NOT share ball on offense..if Denver shoots lights out..so be it...but give me the best team in the west as a PK basically..and I'll take it.

Also BC,

Tonights results make me feel better about a few series going 3-0...

I was thinking they could put Boston at -9.5...but they didn't..staying with the same ideolgy(sp) as the other series.

Big Anal Reaming:

I am scurred of this play.

As always, all the best, including luck.

Love,

Your Counselor

Thanks Brucey...

don;t be scurred...Ripster and Shed have thei boys in stands and will rep the Phila..

Detriots losing this series, hate to be the one to break it to you, yes you heard it here

If you like that, then you should look for my thread where I say the Lakers are winning it all:cheers:'an_horse'

thats part of why I said that lol.

Kansas, Lakers, sixers

make a thread saying Raiders get McFadden and go 2 the playoffs and I will let you have steed :4_6_202v:

The Kansas pick was some serious luck. I happened to be in Lawrence, and I happened to go to the Kansas-AZ game, it was love from there on out (this was all posted).

Im not too good with this draft shit, but I dont think Mcfadden goes to the Raiders. I think it will probably be Long but you never know with the Raiders

I also took the Cubs, when they had a .500 record...they now have the best record in the NL. Thanks

Thought Lakers -2

George Karl is a good coach and these players don't respond to one thing he says. Perfect example was from the TNT telecast the other night. He called a timeout to set up an offensive play and what do they do....1 pass to Melo and shoot a uncontested 3.

They have to many guys that want to be in the next Lil Wayne video, than play for a NBA championship.

Line was +1 for LA..I took the PK for even money

2 freaking points... great game though, crowd was nuts.

Going to game 4 as well, much more of the same
Yeah...Orl couldn't get it done ealy..kinda what I feared or that...

Only saw a little bit of game...was watching the Pucks most of night...but the TOR faithful were def nuts...

Have fun at Game 4...

Love the Lakers and Pistons plays, I feared Nuggets at Staples Center, but after two easy wins, I doubt Nuggets got too much fighting left in them. Spurs did the job in Denver a year a go and I don't see any reason Lakers should fail to do the same.

GL B.A.R. and everybody!
