GL G4M.

Like the Rays today. Great success vs. Balty hitters and the opposite for ole Wade.

Just from a competitive standpoint, not recording an out in his first start, you would think he would be extremely motivated to have a productive outing.

I would have thought he would be motivated after he shit the bed in the summer training game where threw 16 straight balls. His velocity is down 5-6 mph and he can’t locate anything even in his bullpen sessions. That said Houston’s starter is also pretty garbage...I know I’m on the other side of G4M here but I see the logic and the more I look at it the more something smells off on this one. Considering buying some of mine back...good luck today Grind

927 HOU ML -113 (1.13/1)

Was eyeing that Royals/Cubs F5 under myself. BOL, Grind

yeah, two guys who throw strikes and rely on weak contact with wind blowing in hard to pass up, even on the small number. really love Singer's mound presence/competitiveness and how quickly he works...

ryu is due

I think he makes his adjustments, but the velocity dip is a little concerning, which is ironic considering he's a soft tosser. Every hit the Nats produced in his last outing came off his breaking pitches as he wasn't able to command his fastball to go along with the velo dip. That said, I felt like there was some value here. Been pondering the over as well...

Ryu cutter seems to be where the drastic velo dip has been. 4 seamer and sinker within 1mph of normal, the cutter is way way down tho!

I’m kinda willing to say Ryu just off to a slow start/wasn’t stretched out in the shortened camp possibly? Overall he hasn’t been a slow starter but there have been a few seasons he was bad early on.

Hopefully you're right and he's not dealing with yet another injury.

967 CIN ML -109 (1.09/1)
971 LAA 1st 5 -1/2 (-125) (1.25/1)
971 LAA -1.5 (-115) (1.15/1)
974 SD ML -124 (1.24/1)
980 LAD 1st 5 -1/2 (-180) (1.8/1)
980 LAD -1.5 (-145) (1.45/1)

Debating that myself

yeah, too much value to pass up. Was debating 1st 5 initially but Odorizzi likely on limited pitch count coming off the intercostal strain, so KC should see that pen fairly early and hopefully a crooked number to come with it. Duffy been spinning it well, think he negates Rosario and Kepler - Cruz the matchup that scares me. Give me 5-6 from Duffy, hand the ball off to Kennedy in a high-leverage situation when Duffy gets into that jam after Minny sees him for the third time around, then Barlow and Rosenthal to close her out again. Wishful thinking.
