G-Man
Pretty much a regular
This should be a great year here for everyone. Tonight is the "opening day" of the season and no better way to start off, with the #2 team in the country on national TV.
This season I will try to offer a little reason or note why Im on a side or against it. No large writeups, but a little more info, than just posting plays when I can.
Seems like everyone here is on LSU. Why not.
LSU Tigers -16.5 (-130 Bought the point-Greek) 5 Units.
The Tigers have 15 returning starters.
Fifth-year senior qb Matt Flynn will make his second career start, replacing top NFL draft pick JaMarcus Russell. But if Flynn's second start is anything like his first -- he was offensive most valuable player when LSU beat Miami 40-3 in the 2005 Peach Bowl -- the Tigers stand a chance of improving on last season's No. 3 finish in the rankings.
How much depth has LSU had along its defensive line in recent seasons?
Glenn Dorsey would have been a first-round NFL draft choice after only one season as a starter if he would have come out after his junior year.
People fail to recall that Dorsey was nothing more than a backup as recently as two seasons ago when the starting defensive tackles were Kyle Williams and Claude Wroten (now in the NFL). In his first two years at LSU, Dorsey made just four starts.
A number of former LSU defensive linemen from this decade are playing for pay in the NFL – Marcus Spears, Jarvis Green, Chad Lavalais, Williams, Wroten, Melvin Oliver, Kenderick Allen and Chase Pittman.
Dorsey is the ringleader of this year's LSU defensive front. But, there are easily eight linemen who can regularly contribute to one of the best defenses in the nation.
"We have a lot of talent," Dorsey said. "We always have some young talent who can play ball. The players are stockpiled on defense. We have a lot of guys who can make plays."
Adding to that is 3 returning starters at LB.
The Miss St. running game should be stopped tonight. When forced to pass, turnovers could lead to defensive scores for LSU.

Kent State / Iowa State
Getting on Kent State here tonight +3.5. KS qb was second leading rusher coming into this game tonight. They also return 8 starters on defense that held 7 opponents under 23 pts last year. This could be a good start tonight and a SU win for the Golden Flashes.
Kent State. +3.5 2 Units.
Oregon St./Utah.
Like the home boys in this one. Returning 16 starters but 62 Lettermen. Thats good for the home team. Also 8 on defense that held opponents to an average of 22 pts per game. Utah will find it tough to get in the end zone tonight.
Oregon St. -5.5 . 2 units.
