Sacto +7.5

Heat has Portland the next day, typical sandwich game. They also toyed with Kings ten days ago, don't see them putting much effort here.

lean over Det, over tt bucks, over tt raptors, over tt suns..

hmm - all teams on 1st leg of b2b

Don't like tonight's card to be honest.

Brooklyn should bounce back against the Bucks, but I just can't trust this team overall and especially when they are laying points.

The state of mind of this team is unclear to me...

Also can't see any special reason why Thunder should trash the Bobcats, but on the other hand, Thunder were really not happy with the loss to the Raptors and I'm not sure that one beatdown they handed to the Knicks, will be enough for them to cool off.

Heat on paper should demolish the Kings, but usually, Yag plays well against LeBron and Kings at home can give Heat trouble, especially with a clear look a head for the Heat and the fact that they struggled the last few games...

Currently no interest in Kings. May play Mia. Mia has had 1 3 game ATS losing streak this season. Really doubt they intend to have another one with the Kings. Regarding OKC---they have a deep interest in Western teams. The last time they played at Houston they lost. Houston took them to game 6 in the playoffs and recently cheapened their win at Spurs. Portland currently leads the Northwest and beat OKC at Portland earlier this season. Bobcats on a 2 game ATS slide and are playing OKC with major revenge and a losing record.
Lets see Bobcats who have played and covered with Mia and Indiana can not cover vs OKC in a major look a head spot. By the way DOES anyone see a 3 game ATS loss this year for Bobcats?

The teams they lose to ATS do not seem to match with Kings
I believe if Kobe had been playing with the Lakers Mia would have covered. I will have to think more about that game but not about the Bobcats and for me currently it is Mia or the total. Kings will not be on my card.

Easy thing to say is that Kings will be motivated tonight against the Heat, but if you've ever watched guys like DeMarcus Cousins, Isiah Thomas, Marcus Thornton, etc... and the way they sulk when things don't go their way... Only problem is they're up against the one team that probably cares even less than they do.

^^^ He doesn't even know what he was talking about. It was not 4th in 5 nights it was 5th in 7 and they didn't give up 39, they gave up 36 in the 4th quarter

pretty strong words though... The players had to be looking forward to the days off so the performance is not surprising at all.... Should be a lot better tonight. Cousins should destroy the heat

Suns are also 3-0 su and ATS away on Friday this year and 3-0 ATS on 3 days rest and they are not fans of GS

I think Miami has a PLAN. Win and cover all the remaining game vs the West this year on the road. Welcome the new year with GS and ? with Orlando. The old win because we can game.

Carmelo is unlikely to play tonight. He either is really hurting or he is rebelling against Woodson

The Knicks' Plan!!

Report: Knicks plan is to have Rondo force trade to play with them

The Knicks need to rebuild.
You can throw blame at Mike Woodson all you want, and he deserves some, but the Knicks roster construction is flawed. They went heavy with an older roster last season and drained a lot of three balls on their way to 54-wins and the second round of the playoffs, but it was fragile and not sustainable. This season an injury to Tyson Chandler knocked a struggling team for a loop. Then on Christmas Day we saw how bad they look without Carmelo Anthony.
Knicks management may not have seen those flaws back in September but they see them now. And they have a plan, reports Brian Windhorst at ESPN.
Goal one of the plan we already knew — get Carmelo Anthony to re-sign with them this summer (which is by far the most likely outcome of his free agency).
But Windhorst says goal two is get Rajon Rondo — and get him soon.
According to league sources, the Knicks’ first prong is to try to attract the Celtics’ Rajon Rondo. This idea has been tossed around in various forms for a while now, it’s not shocking. But the way the Knicks are hoping to get Rondo is a little unusual.
It’s not in free agency in 2015 but later this season or next summer when he comes back from a torn ACL. The Knicks are hoping Rondo will be interested in making a maneuver similar to what Anthony did back in 2011 and eventually try to force a trade to the Knicks, sources said…
If that fails — and who knows how Rondo will mesh with this Celtics team, it could work well and he could want to stay — the Knicks fully believe they will get one or two of the following in free agency in 2015 when they expect to have large salary-cap space: Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge, Roy Hibbert, Marc Gasol, Tony Parker or Rondo when his contract is up. Under certain circumstances, (LeBron) James himself could be a free agent again that summer.
It’s a brash, bold plan. One that comes with a sense of entitlement. But we have already heard that ‘Melo was trying to recruit Rondo.
Still, I can’t see Rondo bolting Boston to play with ‘Melo. Never say never, but I wouldn’t bet the rent on it.
However, this is what you get with the Knicks (it’s similar with the Lakers) — they are an iconic team in the nation’s largest market, they believe they can draw the biggest free agents because they have done it before. The new CBA may make it more difficult, but at the end of the day players might consider going to New York that would not do the same for medium or smaller markets.
Still, you have to be smart about team building. That’s what the Lakers have been over the last few decades — for all their ability to buy a team and be a major draw they have had a vision for how to build those teams.
The Knicks… not so much. And from where I sit I don’t see how a Rondo/’Melo combo really gets them where they want to go.

Carmelo is unlikely to play tonight. He either is really hurting or he is rebelling against Woodson

Carmelo rebelling is funny to me. Sure, Woodson is a horrible coach, but doesn't he basically just let Carmelo be himself...you know, jack up as many shots as possible, not play any defense, and essentially just suck as a player who will ever help a team win a ring?

Someone needs to tell Melo he shot himself out of the ghetto many, many years ago...and now he can do other things on the court, some that may even help his team win games.

The suns are a early public dog which is usually not a good sign. Public perception is that the warriors were handed a win against Lac and the suns are a big surprise team.

Bad news for me. Bobcats now might not cover--. Still have the 8.5 and see me a favorite. Locked in under in NO 202.5.
Logic being Denver is 9-1 under last 10
Denver is 0-3 under on 3 days rest
Denver plays at Memphis tomorrow and NO plays at Houston in major revenge.

So Mavericks have a bug running around.
Grizzlies Zach Randolph was fined $25,000 for comments about officiating following Thursday's game against the Rockets.

If a player calls the refs "horrible" and says his team was playing "eight on five," he should be expecting a fine. Randolph is playing great ball right now and should be in all lineups.

Nasty trend

Phoenix: 45-72 ATS after 2 straight wins by 10 points or more
Golden State: 37-24 ATS when the total is 200 to 209.5
This year only example was loss to Utah in a 5 in 7

Westbrook out until allstar break daayumm

Russell Westbrook underwent scope surgery on his right knee on Friday and is expected to be out until after the All-Star break.

The surgery was performed to reduce the swelling in his knee and he had been getting his knee drained regularly. This is terrible news for the Thunder with Westbrook really starting to get it going. After not missing any games before the first round of the playoffs last season, this was the third surgery on Westbrook's knee. The good news is Reggie Jackson is in the mix for Most Improved Player and has played phenomenally well, so he becomes an absolute must-own player. Kevin Durant's efficiency was down quite a bit prior to Westbrook's injury, so this news has a trickle down effect to most of their players. Jeremy Lamb has also been playing well and should be picked up in standard formats.

Suns last 10 on Friday 7-3 over
Suns away last 10 5-5 over
Suns last 10 away on Friday 5-5 over
Suns do not like this team at all
No real opinion here just curious why this is a strong play.

Bucks have won their last 3 first quarters.
Argument for Nets is they get crushed next 3 games which makes some sense. Hard for me to really bet on this game.

  • If Washington can win tonight, it will be their fourth straight road victory, a feat they have not accomplished since March 2008. Washington defeated the Timberwolves 104-100 at Verizon Center on November 19, but Minnesota has won the last three games at Target Center.
  • Washington guard, John Wall enters the game having scored 20+ points in four consecutive games for the first time in his career. He is third in the NBA in assists (9.1 apg) and fourth in steals (2.24 spg).
  • Minnesota forward, Kevin Love ranks first in the NBA in rebounding (13.9 rpg) and third in scoring (25.9 ppg). He is averaging 31.3 points, 14.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game over his last eight contests. In the Wolves’ last game, a road loss against the Clippers on December 22, he scored 45 points, grabbed 19 rebounds, and dished out six assists.

</small> [h=2]BUCKS AT NETS, 7:30 P.M. ET[/h] December 27, 2013 · 6:28PM
TV: League Pass

  • Nets coach Jason Kidd said Andray Blatche will miss the next four games due to personal reasons.
  • Kidd also changed the Nets starting lineup. Shaun Livingston will join Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Mirza Teletovic will return to the bench, while Mason Plumlee and Reggie Evans should see increased time with Blatche out.
  • Evans, Plumlee and Garnett will have to work to contain Bucks center Larry Sanders, who returns after a 25-game absence following thumb surgery.
  • The last time the Nets faced the Bucks on Dec. 6, they were led by Brook Lopez (32 points, 11-for-13 shooting). “That’s a big difference,” Bucks coach Larry Drew said. Without Lopez (lost for the season due to a broken foot) and with three consecutive daunting road games ahead (at Indiana, at San Antonio, at Oklahoma City), Kidd noted that the Nets couldn’t look past Milwaukee’s league-worst 6-22 record.

[h=2]THUNDER AT BOBCATS, 7 P.M. ET[/h] December 27, 2013 · 6:10PM
TV: League Pass

  • The Thunder will be without Russell Westbrook until possibly after the All-Star break. The Oklahoma City point guard underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee today it was announced by the team. Westbrook had been having swelling of late and after evaluation moved forward with the surgery. It is the third surgery that Westbrook has undergone since tearing his lateral meniscus in April. Westbook is averaging 21.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.8 steals in 25 games this season. Thunder coach Scott Brooks announced before the game that Reggie Jackson would start in his place against Charlotte. “We’re going to be good team with him and we’ll be a good team without him,” Brooks said. “We play well when we defend and when we share the ball well. We’ll have to do those things tonight and I expect that we will. Everybody is going to have to chip in tonight for that to happen.”

  • Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had his cast removed from his left hand today. The Bobcats forward had been sidelined with a broken hand since earlier this month. He has not yet been cleared to practice. Charlotte coach Steve Clifford indicated that it was not safe for him to catch ball yet. “This is just the first step in the process,” Clifford said. In addition to Kidd-Gilchrist, the Bobcats are without Jeffery Taylor for the rest of the season with a ruptured right Achilles tendon and don’t expect Brendan Haywood (stress fracture, left foot) back until mid-February at this moment.

  • Oklahoma City was won 14 of its last 15 games, is 8-1 against the Eastern Conference and has a 23-5 mark after defeating the New York Knicks on Christmas. The Bobcats have won four of their last five and are poised to reach the .500 mark which has been an elusive milestone in the team’s history.

  • Al Jefferson is coming off a season-best 26 points and recorded his 16th consecutive double-figure scoring game. He has double-doubles in three of his last four games and eight of his last 13 games. During the 13-game stretch, he is averaging 17.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Charlotte will need his offense to hold off the Thunder.

[h=2]PISTONS AT MAGIC, 7 P.M. ET[/h] December 27, 2013 · 6:00PM
TV: League Pass

  • Veteran guard Chauncey Billups, who does not play back-to-backs at this stage of the season, has chosen to play Saturday at Washington instead of tonight against the Magic.
  • Neither team is reporting any injuries.
  • The Pistons (6-10 at home, 8-6 on the road) are the only NBA with a losing record at home and winning record away from home. In their last six games, they are 0-3 at home, and 3-0 on the road including the only road victory at Indiana this season. “We’ve just been more effective on the road for whatever reason,” said coach Maurice Cheeks. “I don’t know. I just hope it continues tonight.”
  • Having opened a long homestead with losses to Utah, Sacramento and New York, the Magic have lost 11 of 13 and five straight at home. “It’s hard to win basketball games,” said coach Jacque Vaughn. “We talked about that this morning, that you have to earn winning in this league. That’s what it boils down to.”
  • Pistons center Andre Drummond leads the NBA is offensive rebounds with 157, only 30 fewer than the Miami Heat. “Defensively, we’ve got to keep them off the boards,” Vaughn said. “It’s not going to be just our bigs rebounding the basketball.”
  • PISTONS LINEUP: Josh Smith, Greg Monroe, Drummond, Kentavioua Caldwell-Pope.
  • MAGIC LINEUP: Tobias Harris, Glen Davis, Nikola Vucevic, Arron Afflalo, Jameer Nelson.

[h=2]RAPTORS AT KNICKS, 7:30 P.M. ET[/h] December 27, 2013 · 5:52PM
TV: League Pass

  • Carmelo Anthony remains out with a sprained ankle after missing the Christmas Day blowout loss to Oklahoma City, and likely won’t fly to Toronto for Saturday’s game. “He’s gotta continue to go through treatment and when he’s ready to play, he’ll let us know,” coach Mike Woodson said.
  • Iman Shumpert is a gametime decision with a contused left thigh, although Metta World Peace said Shumpert would play. World Peace will suit up to help the team despite a sore left knee. If Shumpert can’t go, the Knicks will start Beno Udrih, J.R. Smith, Kenyon Martin, Andrea Bargnani and Tyson Chandler.
  • The Knicks remain without their top two point guards, Raymond Felton (groin) and Pablo Prigioni (toe). Prigioni said Thursday he hopes to be back in about a week. “He’s still day-to-day as well,” Woodson said of Prigioni.
  • Toronto (11-15) will start Kyle Lowry, Terrence Ross, DeMar DeRozan, Amir Johnson and Jonas Valanciunas.
  • The Knicks (9-19) remain just three games back of first-place Toronto (11-15). “Our division is up for grabs right now,” Woodson said. “Anybody can win our division.”
  • Woodson declined comment on a report that owner Jim Dolan told the team there would be no trades or coaching changes. “I’m not here to discuss in-house matters,” he said.

[h=2]HEAT AT KINGS, 10 P.M. ET[/h] December 27, 2013 · 9:24PM
TV: League Pass

  • The Miami Heat (21-6) come into Sacramento tonight looking to extend their six game winning streak against the struggling Kings (8-19). But they will have to do it without the services of Dwyane Wade, Chris Anderson (back tightness) and Ray Allen (knee). With Wade out, veteran Roger Mason will get the start at the shooting guard position, according to coach Eric Spoelstra. ”We’re not disrespecting the regular season, we understand that it’s very important,” said Spoelstra. “Injuries are part of the game. We’re no different than any other team. We feel our depth is one of our biggest strengths, so if we have to use it, we will. “
  • Al Horford tore his right pectoral muscle in the Hawks’ double-overtime win over the Cavaliers and LeBron James was sympathetic. “It sucks. I knew exactly what happened. I was watching the game yesterday and I knew exactly what happened,” James said. “One of my teammates came to me, ‘How did you know that?’ I was like, ‘I remember him having the same injury last year.’ I didn’t want the diagnosis to be that, but it’s a huge blow for the Eastern Conference, it’s a huge blow for a team that’s playing really well. Atlanta, they’re surprising a lot of people, and Horford is a big-time player, (an) All-Star, so it sucks.”
  • After losing 113-100 Monday night against the New Orleans Pelicans, coach Michael Malone chose to give his squad two days off for the holidays. “It was a tough decision,” Malone said. “On one hand, you know that you need practice time and the more time we can try and get these guys caught up to speed, the better. But sometimes you have to weigh that against guys needing a little bit of space from each other.”
  • The Heat beat the Kings last week in Miami by the final of 122-103, but Sacramento shot 58 percent from the floor and hung around until the fourth quarter, before falling apart. “We certainly have to be much better defensively in their building tonight,” Spoelstra said. “They had a tough loss the other night. They’ll be highly motivated. That type of defensive effort we had at home in our place, won’t get it done tonight here at their place.”

[h=2]SUNS AT WARRIORS, 10:30 P.M. ET[/h] December 27, 2013 · 9:14PM
TV: League Pass

  • If history repeats, then Friday night’s game could turn into a 3-point shooting contest. When the Suns beat Golden State 106-102 on Dec. 15 at Phoenix, they made 13 3-point shots, the most this season by any Warriors opponent. Goran Dragic went 4-for-4 from long range and Channing Frye 5-for-7 against the Warriors. As a team, Phoenix shot 48.1 percent (13 of 27) from beyond the arc while the Warriors shot 50.0 percent (11 of 22). Stephen Curry went 4 of 7 3-point shots, while Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes each went 2-for-4. “You can always say, ‘Try and stop the 3′s,’ but I think both teams have a good balance of inside and outside guys,” Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said. “They have guys inside that can roll to the basket hard. You have to pick them up, they make the extra pass to the corners and they get those shots, and we try to do the same thing with out point guards getting over and past on pick and rolls and penetration and kick out to guys. It’s easier said than done is to try and stop the 3′s, but that may be a key to the game. The team that does the best job of that might win this one.”
  • Suns center Miles Plumlee has had seven double-doubles this season, none better than his most recent on Monday against the Los Angeles Lakers. He grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds scored 17 points. Plumlee will match up against the Warriors’ Andrew Bogut, who has six double-doubles and a career-high 10 straight double-digit rebound games. In his past five games, Bogut has averaged 14.6 rebounds. In their previous matchup at Phoenix, Bogut had 14 rebounds and 9 points while Plumlee had 10 boards and 6 points.
  • After playing the Suns, Golden State faces a seven-game road trip with stops at Cleveland, Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, Washington, Milwaukee and Boston. Last season the Warriors went 6-1 on a December road trip, establishing themselves as a legitimate playoff contender. “I thought it was a chance for us to get away, to grow closer as a basketball team, to understand the challenges of being a good team and winning on the road,” Warriors coach Mark Jackson said. “For us it was brand new because up until that point we had not been established as a good team. Right now we know who we are. Not looking forward to it, but this is going to be an opportunity for us to, hopefully, after tonight continue our run. The road presents a lot of challenges, no matter who you’re facing, and it’s going to be important for us to build on what we did last game, continue it through tonight and then take it on the road with us also.”
