At least the Spurs made it official w/2 games to go that they have nothing to play for.

again, the spurs dont give a flying fuck who they play

its all about playing their style, the right way. That is it. The rest takes care of itself

the motivation to win the game might not be as high and the starters might sit, but the spurs are not like other teams who just take games off

Aside from the obvious point my post was a factual statement (it advanced no position on whether the Spurs would play hard in their final 2 games or not, simply that they officially have nothing to play for), your pov does nothing to explain the Timberwolves beating them by nearly 20 pts when they did have something to play for = they hadn't wrapped up the best record in the league at the time of that game. Did they play "the right way" that night? - hammered in the 1st & 2nd periods, only a 2nd half shoring up effort prevented the final margin being embarrassing (presumably their egos could handle a 20 pt loss, but not a 30 or 40 pt one). Duncan played 20 mins, Ginobli played 15, so it's not like none of their name players failed to take the court to immediately explain their hypothetically putting in a hard night's work but not having "the real talent" on the floor to prevent a hiding. Last time I looked, the Wolves weren't a MJ-era Chicago Bulls in the making.

They didn't give a fuck (or, in more diplomatic language, they went through the motions) vs. Minny, I 'll be willing to bet (doh) their doing so again vs. Houston. As long as the line isn't insane, I'll be on the Rockets on the 14th. They might not give a fuck vs. the Lakers either, but there's nothing inviting about that game at this point.
