Kind of frightening. With Memphis playing off an upset win does this mean we might have to play them at Denver--.
Really temped to just wait for GOY the next day.

Washington on Saturday. Have no idea how that could lose.
Suns have beaten Washington 10 in a row. Washington has this game circled in BLOOD. Meanwhile this Suns team really is just interested in going home and beating the Lakers. on Monday. How could this game ever lose?

I have to disagree with you tuck. Not on the bet, but on the reasoning. Wizards will beat up Suns, just because they play well at home (probably). But I doubt there is big rivlary between non playoff West Conference - East conference teams.
10 games? Between two difference conference teams that's 5 years! In those 5 years, they have changed the entire roster, staff, even the owner have changed...
Not to mention that losing 8 in a row is just as bad as losing 10 in a row and they still couldn't stop this number from going double digits...

Divol ignoring for a moment that Washington most of this season has been busily looking for teams that have beaten them in Washington, is there ANY doubt in your mind that the Suns are
A. Obsessed with the Lakers
B. Very unhappy about getting smashed by Denver in their last home game.
I really like to bet games where only one side cares.

Can't decide regarding the Bucks - Heat game. Bucks just match up well against Heat. Sanders is a player that I really really like and I think the most important Buck on the roster. Without him, Bucks record is abysmal this season. Today he will play and will do damage in the paint as far as rebounding goes.
I realize that Bucks humiliated Heat, winning them by 19 points in the last between them, but Bucks also lost their last game and this is 99% first round series, so both teams should show up and 6.5 points seems a bit too much here.

I also think that it should be really great time to fade the Heat.
Took Under TT on the Heat their last two games and they are playing 3rd game in 4 days today, have a game both tomorrow and on Monday and won't have two day's rest for two months span (from Memphis game in February till after Charlotte's game in April).

I realize that Cleveland done well without Irving few times this season, winning against the Wizards and Toronto at home, on the road in Chicago, but I think that Dallas should win this one and cover. Lakers will probably lose in Indiana without Kobe, so Dallas win means that they are only 2 games behind 8th spot in the West with 17 games left.

Immediately struck me that the Mavs line seemed a bucket short, even given their playing B2B (it's not like they're facing out-of-State travel back home). So I did a little checking -

In their first 39 games, Cleveland = 17-22 ATS (& 9-30 SU)
In their last 25 games, Cleveland = 17-8 ATS (& 13-12 SU)

Their ATS win rate has gone from 43.5% over their first 39 games, to 68.0% over their last 25 games. The last 5 times they've played a road game off a SU win, they've gone 4-1 ATS (& 1-4 SU), averaging 96.0 pts.

Charshit, oh dear.

This disgrace of a team is 0-15-1 ATS off their last 16 ATS wins. They've lost their last 5 road games by 17, 17, 36, 30 & 22 pts. They lost 78-99 in Toronto earlier this season.

-----

Toronto is 4-1 ATS this season playing at home off 2 ATS losses in their previous 2 games (3-0 SU & ATS when vs teams w/losing records).

Houston has an interesting (& not uncommon) totals pattern for this season. They've had one significant sequence of "tic-tac-toe" results (alternated O/Us for 6 games in late Jan.), but that's it (statistically pitiful for having played this many games, ie. Indiana has a strong bias to Unders, yet has registered a 9 game O/U alternating streak).

1stly 4-2 to Under
then 8-2 to Over
then 6-2 to Under
then 9-2 to Over
then 8-3 to Under
then 8-3 to Over
now 6-3 to Under
(It's possibly 5-2 to Under, and a new Over run has started which sits at 1-1 now (& will go to 2-1 by going Over w/Minny) but without knowing future results now, it's difficult to draw an end line to this latest run. But it's 5-2 at worst.)

What makes for interest is their latest bias towards Unders sees the "lesser" total already at the 3 game mark where no previous run has had a lesser total surpass that figure, which suggests their next turn back towards Over results predominating is near. Since they score higher at home (8.4 pts more than away), and play 8 next of their 9 games at home, it seems scheduling also plays into this notion.

After a bit of digging, I'm starting to warm to the Mem/Den Over.

(1) Denver has held their opponents to less than 100 pts (actually, less then 95) for 4 straight games. That's only the 2nd time this season they've managed such a feat for longer than 3 games. You have to go back to 05-06 to find the last time they managed to hold their opponents to less than 100 pts over at least 4 games on 2 separate occasions in the same season...

05-06: streaks of 5, 5 & 4 games
06-07: 1 streak of 6 games
07-08: No streak higher than 3 games
08-09: 1 streak of 6 games
09-10: 1 streak of 4 games
10-11: 1 streak of 4 games
11-12: 1 streak of 5 games

So, has their defense suddenly improved out of nowhere?
94 by NYK: the Knicks have plainly put in limp performances recently. Again more a case of their opponent's effort at fault (down by 22 @HT after scoring only 42 pts), rather than looking to Denver's D to explain the outcome.
93 by PHX: prior to this game PHX had scored 100+ pts in only 1 of their previous 17 home games. Denver managed nothing special holding them down in Phoenix.
88 by MIN: Minny entered this game off a SU win, having failed to notch 100+ pts off in 9 of their previous 10 games off SU wins. They also had failed to score more than 94 pts in their previous 5 games, and had only scored 100+ pts once in their previous 7 road games vs .500+ teams. Denver simply did what the stats Minny brought to the table said they should do.
92 by LAC: Clippers played B2B off a blowout home win that itself was a redemptive outing off a bad home loss vs OKC. Bad spot for Clipshow, who lost the 2nd half by 15 pts with a limp backend effort.

(2) Denver has scored at least 97 pts for 33 straight games, and has scored at least 102 pts in 24 of their last 25 games. As a counterpoint to the latter stat: in their first 25 games of the season (one of which was @home vs Mem), they only managed 102+ pts 14 times.

(3) Memphis has scored 90+ pts for 8 straight games: for these 8 lead-in games to this Denver fixture, they've averaged 97.1 pts for and 88.5 pts against, for a 185.6 pts avg. game total (against an avg total line of 185.8 pts ... -0.03 pts).
For their 8 lead-in games to their previous game @Den (where they'd scored 90+ pts in only 5 of those prevous 8 games), they averaged 92.3 pts for and 87.3 pts against, for a 179.6 pts avg. game total (against an avg total line of 191.0 ... -10.4 pts).

So, in that previous meeting they (Den/Mem) totaled 193 pts vs a gameline of 195.5 (could be had at 194.5 30 mins out from gametime) at a time when recent Memphis games were averaging more than 10 pts less than posted game lines. No such line inertia exists this time round, and we're dealing with a lower line.

(4) Last 5 meetings in Denver:
Under by 3 pts (Denver won SU)
Under by 14 pts (Denver lost SU: their home win % then was .571. Their current home win % is .906)
Over by 22 pts (Denver won SU)
Over by 1 pt (Denver won SU)
Over by 14 pts (Denver won SU)

Trend is pretty clear. Under has a real shot if Denver loses. Denver in a revenge spot here given the last time these 2 met the Thuggets were held to a pathetic 72 pts in a 9 pt loss.

The danger I see to this total is Memphis might, after 6 straight wins and 14 wins out of 15, take this game easy and save their energy for the W vs Utah on the B2B. But even if this is the case, the first thing that goes out the window in a lax effort is the defensive side of matters. They've scored at least 88 pts in 16 of their last 17 games, they could manage 86-90 here and Denver's scoring could easily take care of the rest needed for the Over. The last truly run & gun team Memphis met was Sacramento. That just happens to be the last time they had a game surpass 200 pts (lined 189.0). In their last truly tough road game, they managed to combined with OKC for 195 pts (lined 190.0), and Denver's home games average 7.9 pts more than OKC's.
Denver's home games lined less than 200.0 this season are 3-2 to Under, vs 7-3 to Under for road games similarly lined. Fearing Over simply because the line is "way lower" than usual for Thugget home games (hence "it's a trap"), is to lose sight of the fact of who they're playing. Memphis is a major Under team (heaviest Under record of any Western team, and only Washington - with its amazing road Under streak - has a significantl;y heavier Under record out of all the NBA teams). It should be lined less than 200.0, but I'm thinking both teams are gonna hit 100 (if Memphis cares about this game, again the only concern I've got).

Played over 47.5 in the first quarter of GS
Bulls on these Friday trips usually but not always win the first quarter.
In their last 10 home games GS has had a 25 facing Spurs
A 26
Everything else was higher, frequently much higher
In the Bulls last game they did not win a single quarter. This usually indicates a high scoring first quarter next game.

Very true. One problem here is that the Bulls play at home next vs Denver who has beaten them 3 straight and last game in Denver beat them by 32. Bulls are a strange team. If Rose comes back or they think he may for that game---still thinking

Hope not. This would be a very tough game to win anyway. He should rest and come back strong.

Thi situation with the Bobcats. They are an obvious fade but play at BOSTON the next day where they will be crushed. Odd implications here. Just noticed Toronto plays at home on Sunday next game vs Miami.

Bryant suffered a severe sprained ankle with just 3.9 seconds remaining in the game and although his X-rays came back negative, the Lakers’ star player is out indefinitely. Los Angeles visits the Indiana Pacers Friday and the spread for that game will be dramatically impacted by Bryant’s status.

Oddsmakers have set the Pacers as 9.5-point home favorites with the total at 190 points. Bryant is officially listed as a game-time decision.

“I would think Kobe is the top guy when it comes to value (to the spread) this year,” Michael Stewart, an oddsmaker with CarbonSports.ag, told Covers. “His worth (to the spread) is definitely more than LeBron (James) since he pretty much carries that team on his back. He brought them back in that game last night by scoring 20 points in the third quarter.”

Stewart says Bryant is worth as many as four points to the Lakers’ spread. While James is arguably the best player in the NBA, his worth to the Miami Heat’s pointspreads is not as high as bettors would expect because of the surplus of talent on Miami’s roster.

For Los Angeles, Bryant has been the glue in an up-and-down year. The Lakers may have an abundance of All-Star names but have struggled to jell until recently. They’ve won 17 of their last 24 games (11-13 ATS) to move into a playoff spot, with Bryant single-handedly willing L.A. to many of those victories. His 27.5 points per game make up more than a quarter of the team’s overall offense.

“This is going to be very interesting,” says Stewart. “It will be the first time this year that (Dwight) Howard will be the focal point of the offense along with (Steve) Nash.”

Friday’s game in Indiana could be the first game Bryant misses this season. Last year, he sat out seven games, leaving the Lakers to go 4-3 SU and ATS as well as 4-3 over/under.

The Pacers won the first meeting with the Lakers, 79-77, as 8.5-point road underdogs on Nov. 27. Bryant scored 40 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in that game. Los Angeles is 1-3 SU and ATS in its last four games against Indiana.

Hornets at Wizards 7pm

  • Wizards back up point guard A.J. Price (sore right groin) and rookie shooting guard Bradley Beal (left ankle sprain) are both out tonight against the New Orleans Hornets. Price will miss his second straight game and Beal his sixth. Both are listed as day-to-day. For the Hornet, guard Austin Rivers (broken bone in his right hand), and forward Jason Smith (torn labrum) are both inactive.
  • Things won’t get any easier for the Wizards banged-up lineup, which will play four games in five days. “It’s tough, but everybody does it,” said Wizards coach Randy Wittman. “We’re doing more mental things than physical things, and that’s where you have to tough it up and fight through it.”
  • The Wizards’ starters are point guard John Wall, shooting guard Garrett Temple, small forward Martell Webster, power forward Nene, and center Emeka Okafor. For the Hornets, the lineup is point guard Greivis Vasquez, shooting guard Eric Gordon, small forward Al Farouq-Aminu, rookie power forward Anthony Davis and center Robin Lopez.

  • It’s a bit of a homecoming for Vasquez, who played the University of Maryland, as well as Hornets coach Monty Williams, who grew up in Price George’s County, Maryland. His mother, Joyce, will be in attendance. “When I come back here, it’s bittersweet, because I don’t get to see everybody I want to,” Williams said. “I’m proud to be from here.”
  • Vasquez has blossomed in a starting role for the Hornets, averaging 14.0 points, 9.4 assists and 4.4 rebounds, in his third season, after starting just 27 games his previous two years in the league. “He’s a very confident kid, he’s aggressive,” Wittman said. “That never stops no matter what type of game he’s having. He’s having a solid year.”
  • Williams is impressed with the play of Davis, and thinks that being on the Olympic team was a huge help to his development. Williams also believes that flying under the radar while presumptive Rookie of the Year Damian Lillardgets all the headlines will help Davis. “Lilliard has been the best rookie, but you can’t argue that AD has been right behind him.”
  • Friday’s game is the second and final meeting between the Wizards and Hornets. The Wizards won the first game, back on December 11, 2012, 77-70 in New Orleans.

</small> [h=2]LAKERS AT PACERS, 7 P.M. ET[/h] March 15, 2013 · 6:29PM
TV: League Pass

  • All indications are Kobe Bryant will play tonight against the Pacers in Bankers Life Fieldhouse, despite a severely sprained left ankle. Lakers Coach Mike D’Antoni said 90 minutes before tipoff he had a “gut feeling” Bryant would be on the court for the opening tip. “I’ve only been here a few months,” he said, “but from what I’ve seen, I’ve seen him play with worse stuff.” Bryant was injured when he landed on Dahntay Jones’ foot after a jump shot with 3.9 seconds remaining in a 96-92 loss in Atlanta Wednesday and was originally listed as out indefinitely.

  • Bryant was listed in the starting lineup in the Lakers’ pregame roster submitted to the NBA approximately 45 minutes before tipoff. D’Antoni said Bryant’s play would be closely monitored. “We’ll all see it together and we’ll have a conversation and then he’ll probably keep playing,” he said. “It depends on how he feels. We don’t want to injure it any more and we’ll see how it goes. He’s going to be productive. He’ll find a way to be productive, so that won’t be the question. I just hope he makes sure he doesn’t get it worse than what it is.”

  • Pacers Coach Frank Vogel has been expecting to see Bryant in the starting lineup since the moment he was injured in Atlanta. “Obviously, he had some comments early in the season about challenging some teammates to play hurt,” Vogel said. “So I think if his ankle’s attached to his leg, he’s going to put his money where is mouth is and get out and show he’s going to play hurt. … I pay no attention to any injury or illness with Kobe Bryant. I expect his best shot every time we play them.”

  • Vogel responded strongly to the charge from Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson that Jones, a former Pacers player, intended to injure Bryant. “Dahntay Jones is not a dirty player,” Vogel said. “I coached him for several years. He’s a high-character person, a high-character player that respects the game the right way and there’s no way he would ever do anything to intentionally hurt a player. It’s ridiculous.”

[h=2]BOBCATS AT RAPTORS, 7 P.M. ET[/h] March 15, 2013 · 6:21PM
TV: League Pass

  • While both the Charlotte Bobcats (14-50) and the Toronto Raptors (25-40) have had less than stellar seasons, they have a season series to settle (1-1) Friday night at Air Canada Centre.
  • Charlotte ended a 9-game losing streak, drubbing the Boston Celtics 100-74 on Tuesday. Conversely, the Raptors lost to the Celtics 112-88 on Wednesday, the Raptors have now lost seven of their last nine games.
  • Andrea Bargnani will be sidelined for the remainder of the season with an avulsion sprain of the right elbow. This injury is not related to his previous right elbow injury that sidelined him for 26 games.

Very true. One problem here is that the Bulls play at home next vs Denver who has beaten them 3 straight and last game in Denver beat them by 32. Bulls are a strange team. If Rose comes back or they think he may for that game---still thinking

Very much doubt the Bulls are looking at the out of conference Denver game which is 3 days away...
