The Brewers dumped choke artist Devin Williams to the Yankees for scrub starter Nestor Cortes who only has one year of control and a mediocre middle infield prospect. Not much of a return and I would hope they flip Cortes to a team in need of a starter but getting anything for Devin is a win.

The Astros have done nothing but get worse since firing Luhnow after the sign stealing nonsense. Hinch was allowed to come back and its long past due that Luhnow a top 5 GM at worst is hired by someone. Really Houston should bring him back but that would mean firing the college teammate of franchise icon Craig Biggio even though he sucks at his job.

Houston is an ideal fit for Paredes. He needs that short porch. Didn't hit a lick at wrigley after the Cubs got him. Hurts to lose Cam Smith, our first round pick fromm last year who absolutely destroyed A Ball, but you gotta give up something to get a guy like Tucker. Hopefully, Matt Shaw can handle 3B and then you have yourself a pretty good lineup.

Not a fan of this deal for either team. Houston has gone from one of the best teams in baseball to a fringe playoff contender over the last few years and Tucker is just a rental for Chicago though they didn't give up much to get him. Unless they are giving him 400 million plus Tucker will go to the Yankees or Dodgers next offseason.

It's win now time for the Cubs. They haven't won a playoff game since 2017, I think. The fans are getting restless. They have one of the top minor league systems in baseball with the most top 100 guys of any team, so I think it's worth a crack to trade one and make a go of it. Wesneski is just a guy, though I bet he'll be decent for Houston and Paredes isn't a must keep either. It's really a top 50 prospect in Smith for a year of Tucker.

The sport is not even worth following unless you are a fan of one of the mega spenders. My team is about as well run as any in baseball yet they have no real chance of winning a World Series. Until there is a salary cap this league is of little interest to me.

I do so little news type things it took me til two days after the fact to realize the Snakes signed Burnes. Gotta keep up with the Jones's obviously.
Seems like they're doing damage in the Dominican market as well. Of course I had no clue we opened up a new facility down there that's making waves. Not like we can compete with the Coasters in the Asian market so might as well attack the Latin American market hard.

Yep and it's being managed extremely well here. I've only just started looking into it the last few days, I had no clue we opened a state of the art facility down there recently in an effort to attract attention. Signing these uber young prospects is inexpensive really so that cap allows for a LOT of misses but it is the only way we can compete with the Coastal big time teams when it comes to this kind of thing

I can't be the only one annoyed with these one way opt outs. If the player is good he walks away and if he gets hurt or sucks the team is stuck with that second year. Still for Detroit this is a solid deal with not much downside.
