What type of hotel are you looking for? Something cheap, something close (probably already booked), something fancy?

In terms of parking/drinking, let me contact my old roommates who live a few blocks from the stadium. They normally park cars for $10-$15 and may have a keg that drinking is included with parking.

In terms of who not to fuck with... (laugh) Everyone will be fucking with you anyways, so it should all be good. Kids will be pushing you to drink alcohol and all of that. You'll be sworn at, but shouldn't ever get physical. Just give it right back and you'll be fine.

http://www.themadisoninn.com/ is right off of state street
<dl><dt> Otherwise both student unions have nicer hotel rooms as well... Union South is right by Camp Randall, but Memorial Union is closer to State Street (only a mile apart anyways between the two unions, if that)

everyone I talked to that went 10-4 said that the Wisky fans were as mellow and "nice" as they've ever been..

$296 open container laws will do that I guess.

There's also more than a few beer gardens around the area that aren't connected with the bar. A little hole in the wall for early morning breakfast (not on gameday) but would be good for Sunday heading out of town includes...

yah, think i found one in mcfarland

prolly gonna hit beloit friday night, just on the other side of rockford where i got some peeps.

you going to the game?

I never even knew there was a hotel there. Lathrop is about the farthest undergrad students live (if you're looking to the east).

I'm assuming Saturday night you will be going downtown to the bars. Bars I'd suggest going to... (all within blocks of each other - ie 2 minute walk with plenty of others in between)
http://www.statestreetbrats.com/ - huge micro beer menu
http://badgerherald.com/special/2007/02/13/best_dive_bar_the_re.php - Red Shed, they serve a Long Island "mix" called the Real Thing in mason jars. Article speaks for itself.
http://www.yelp.com/biz/wandos-madison - there own website is down, known for fishbowls
http://www.brothersbar.com/ - one of the chain ones in Big 10 country
http://www.madavenue.com/johnny-os/ (Probably one of the "classier" places)

Pregame on Saturday I'd recommend you walk to Stadium Bar (http://www.channel3000.com/news/17783359/detail.html)
