ESPN Handicapper Picks--Week 14

Bet ULL +3

Only bet ULL once this year and it was against this same team. App State is playing better now, but I really like that ULL QB so taking home team and points

Can't make my mind up on Houston/Cincinnati. I see Cincinnati as the best team and almost sure to win SU, but Houston is one of the worst teams to give points to. They are a loose team and can self-destruct with ease the way they did in that game where even Holgorson screwed up and got a penalty, but they can score on almost any play or any kick return.

I'm thinking of maybe the over in this game. Anyone have any thoughts on the total?

Ha! I should have been so lucky. I had to lay the points too and I didn't see the 2x anywhere. I had to lay the 3.

i actually lean 1st half under, lol.. feel like it gonna be more defensive early. i think houston is gonna have to work on establishing the run game with mccaskill cause if they try and just drop back all day cincy will eat tune and his one wr up imo.. houston runs a lot more than i think ppl realize (basically 50/50 run/pass on year) and they will have to in this one, cincy secondary too good and they wont give tune a lot of time either. houston d is pretty good, think it will take cincy offense some time to get going, i saw their 1st half tt at 17.5, that feels freaking high to me. it could open up as the game goes which why i like 1st half under opposed to full game, if at any point houston gets into all pass mode it will get real ugly real fast imo..

I have just taken Michigan -6.5 1H.

On the turf at Lucas Oil the speed of Wolverines and their Defense against the pedestrian Hawkeyes seems to be the right side in the game, but more so in 1H

i might join you on that as i had a hard time finding much i liked in this game, just cant lay dd but i dont want iowa either as i think they way outclassed.

If I thought McCaskill was healthy I'd bet Houston, but I don't think he is. He isn't listed on their injury list, but he wasn't listed for the Memphis game either and the same thing that happened to him earlier, I think in the SMU game, happened against Memphis, he ran with the ball and was tackled, but not any kind of bruising hit and couldn't even get up, starting tapping his helmet while he was on the ground.

Both games he walked off and holding his collarbone up next to his neck and didn't return.

I think it must be some kind of nerve injury because he wasn't hit on the upper body at all, but both times tapped his helmet while he was still stretched out and had to be helped up and off the field.

He's a difference maker and could be the equalizer against Cincinnati, but if he thinks Memphis hits hard wait till he takes a couple of shots from the Cincinnati D

I was thinking Under as well. Houston D and Cincy D are both good enough to limit opposing offenses

for sure and ya gotta think could be some nerves early. certainly dont think it gonna start fast, i am afraid if cincy gets a lead to the point houston in obvious pass all the time it could get out of hand and who knows how many points go up then?

oh man, i didnt realize that, i saw his carries been limited a lot last few weeks but i thought it was them just conserving him in games they didnt need a ton of him to win.. holy shit im glad you pointed that out cause i damn sure was gonna bet his rush yards over 56.5 in morning!! lol. fuck.

It could happen like that. A couple 2nd H INTs and field position or pick-sixes. I think Cincy D can hold up regardless. UH D, depending on game flow, could get stressed and crack

If he's healthy he may hit that in one play, but whatever injury he has is the reason they have limited his carries. In both games he didn't come back in and the other kid is just average compared to him

yea i thought it was crazy low, for some dumb reason i just thought it was them giving cincy d a ton of respect, lol.. dunno why i didnt notice it, i watched a lot fo the memphis game but think i was just on Tune pass yards over so i prob wasnt following anything but that!!

I played his over already. Not too worried about his health, blowout vs uconn last week...he didn’t need the work

I didn't realize it because I paid no attention to the UConn game, but McCaskill had to leave that game too and it was the same thing--holding his right shoulder

Here's the game writeup:

"Freshman Alton McCaskill had a 31-yard touchdown run, his 16th of the year for the Cougars, but left the game in the second quarter holding his right shoulder. He finished with 54 yards on the ground."

Oklahoma State is the only morning game I'm betting so I have plenty of time to think about the afternoon games

I'm going to bed, but if anyone has any good idea about the later games please post

i hear ya, that was my initial thought but hearing what tahoe saying and the number being that low is cause for concern imo. i really believe if there was nothing to this and he in for full workload this number should be more like 80ish shouldnt it?

By the time Mutin is wheeled off the field, immobilized on the stretcher, he is moving his fingers and arms. Still, going from that moment with everything brought to a standstill, with everyone thinking about the team captain being strapped to a stretcher, back to playing a football game is no easy transition.

It would not be the only one Holgorsen’s UH team needs to make on this night. For McCaskill, the first-year tailback who just seems to glide through defenses, making decisive cuts at every hole, ends up in the red medical tent himself late in the second quarter.

After emerging from the tent, McCaskill walks himself into the locker room, flanked by trainers. He never emerges in the second half. But after the game, he does come out of the locker room to talk to his family and friends, who lean over the first row of the stands. McCaskill tells them he’s doing all right. And he seems to be moving without any pain.

Holgorsen calls it a stinger and says the X-rays taken were negative. Still, it would seem to make little sense to push Alton McCaskill to play against a 1-9 UConn team next week. The next time Cougars fans could see the touchdown maker is against Cincinnati in the AAC Championship Game on December 4.

Well that makes me wanna play his rushing total over again! Lol.

Damn. Thanks for sharing this. Too late for my bet but really good info

i dont listen to gameday very often cause i normally go to breakfast with few ppl and then casino on saturday morning, skipped breakfast today so driving home i had it on and now back at house, i swear bear is such a fucking clown, it no wonder he hitting 30%, everything out his mouth is more ignorant than the last thing!! i cant believe i ever liked the pod with him and stanford steve, guess cause steve aint bad but now days that pod is pretty trash, like i need 10 minutes of hearing bear travel schedule as i wonder why this dude even has a job!!

I watched youtube music videos today instead of listening to gameday. The continued rehashing of the story lines around this Saturday are so annoying.

yea, it been pretty terrible, bummed we didnt do breakfast today and instead im listening to this shit, i cant drink my 1st screwdriver fast enough!! lol

wow, as if the show not bad enough, now they have some hosierwad country asshole barking noise at me.. fuck this! lol

My biggest regret is not going bigger on Utah last night

mine was thinking it would be a good enough game to where brown would easily throw over 210! im honestly shocked ducks got whipped in that fashion again, not that they lost but just laying down like some quitting dogs i did not expect, fucker cost me going 4 of 4 on a cross sport RR prop parlay. 3 of 4 still pays ok but all 4 woulda been nice, him putting up some yards on the very last drive was just a bigger kick in the nuts.

omg, these special interest stories are fucking awful, they do this shit every week dont they? every time i watch this shit they have them , thank god it not real often.. lets all cry cause some jerkoff kid wears his jerkoff dad old jersey number, who gives a rip!!!

I'm solid on Oklahoma State, but just heard a great stat for Baylor--only six times all season did a team start a drive in Baylor territory. Only eight times all season did an opponent start a drive outside their own 35.

only reason im on okie lite is cause you pal, dont start giving me reasons to doubt it!! lol

Ha! I'm as solid as ever on Okla State, I just like that stat. Okla State has their own good stats for the best D they've ever had

I see the line is now up to -7.

This is the biggest game in the history of Oklahoma State so I know they are going to be ready

totally forgot i wasnt gonna be able to bet the mac ship cause of the illinios school in it, that such a stupid ass rule.
I can bet it, but have no idea of how to handicap it. I haven't seen either team play and neither team has a good D.

How were you going to play it?

honestly think i would have played bears if it was +7 when i was making my plays, lol.. i didnt think Bohannon was gonna be healthy enough to run around anyways and think the line was already factoring in him either not playing or not being close to himself so now that it been announced and squares hammering okie lite i think there some value getting a full 7 with this low a total.

ugh, bear just said he liked uga to win, he did say he would like to take bama with the points but he didnt. wish he would have! lol

why does big10/fox have the big noon kickoff all year putting the biggest big10 game on at this time but now the ship is at night? ive grown to like the big10 biggest game being on at 11!!

Gives me more time to try and figure that game out. I don't have a clue. I lean to Iowa plus the points, but that's just out of habit of taking Iowa in these games over the years and winning with them

I don't see anything either way to make me pull the trigger

yea that line is tough,, i played mich 1st half -6.5 and mich ml in my parlay with several the favs i think win today

just glad we got ncaa hoops, i cant take watching just one game, my senses need overloading!! lol
Ha! Exactly what I was thinking. I've spent the last three months sharpening up my skills with the remote and now there are only two games on. I may have to add a couple of movies to the rotation to keep from having to watch a commercial

That's the rule--whoever has the remote gets to keep it as long as they don't show a commercial. Even two seconds of a commercial and the next guy gets the remote

Horseshit start to the day with Oklahoma State, but I'm going to lay points with another offensive challenged team of tough guys and good defense

Worried Ok State may not be able to come down from last week, but that’s mitigated by Baylor QB probably being out. Strong lean SD State, lean Pitt, ULL. I’m sticking with same thing I’ve done all season, bet the best D and the toughest team.

Lol. Nice. I’m sick of college hoops already, I can’t freaking believe clemson was up the entire game then let canes go on a 13-0 run w like 2:30 left! Lousy mf’ers had a 7 point lead w 3 min to play amd I was getting +2.5. Shit unreal. Then again I can’t freaking believe I just cashed that 1st half under in cincy! They scored 27 on 1st 4 possessions! This shit can be a roller coaster.

I have just taken Michigan -6.5 1H.

On the turf at Lucas Oil the speed of Wolverines and their Defense against the pedestrian Hawkeyes seems to be the right side in the game, but more so in 1H

Glad you got me on this one!! Nice call.
