8 teams from each super region will make the playoffs and every conference receives 1 automatic qualifying bid.

This is the second to last week of the season. Committee selects playoff teams November 16th

Some teams are actually done this week. So sad it goes so fast. Hopefully we can get MyBookie to post playoff games. Because we will have 16 of them on Nov 23.

Here are some thoughts I have on some early games: (numbers are strictly from Massey)

Assumption
Bentley -.5 55.5

This is a winner take all game in the Northeast10 Conference. I really don't think the loser gets in the field, so this is a huge deal. I think Assumption is the better side, but I'm much more interested in the under if it's over 50. I will be playing the under if it's 50 or higher.

Northern Mich.
Davenport -23.5. 55.5

The over was going to be an auto play for me. But the HC and Oline coach of Northern Michigan were placed on administrative leave earlier in the week and won't be coaching. If have no idea what this does for this game. So I doubt I will be partaking in this one.

Ohio Dominican -6.5. 40.5
Thomas More

This line seems lite. Thomas More is 0-8 and while ODU is no prize, I'm comfortable playing them in the Money Line.

1:00 pm east kick

Findlay
Ashland -5.5 47.5

Monster matchup in the Great Midwest. 9-0 Findlay vs 8-1 Ashland. This game screams field goal to me. Both teams with very similar numbers across the board. Rock solid defenses. This will be a rock fight. Absolutely would love to get a 47.5 on this tomorrow and play the UNDER.

I'm trying to lump these games into the time slots they are in to make it easier when lines get posted tomorrow.

They did some conference realignment in the off-season to the Super regions. SR 4 is just a different animal. If UTPB is your 1st team out, you are loaded.

I like that Ohio Dominican. Thomas More appears considerably worse than their previous two seasons just based on the W-L record and they beat Ohio Dominican both the last 2 years, shut them out 6-0 last year. Ohio Dominican seems to be playing well right now with only losing by 7 to Findlay and beating Erie by 16 when Thomas More lost to Erie for Erie's only win of the season! As you have said, with Massey weighing prior year results in their odds, that line is low, so hopefully some value on the ML there.

Honestly if I'm Tommy Mo, I'm putting all my eggs into beating KY Wesleyan next week to get rid of that goose egg in the W column

I heard some talk of this, was there a different super region last year, or prior years that was loaded? So they tried to solve that problem in the one region (was it 3?), but in doing so they made another region, 4, the super tough one.

I think 4 has always been the best. Basically the MIAA (NW Mizzou, Pitts St) and the GAC (Harding) came over and the NSIC (Duluth, Mankato,) and the Great Midwest (Ashley, Findlay) went to SR 3

Yeah that was it, the top schools coming into region 4, somebody on a podcast or something I heard was complaining about it, how it just made their region that much tougher to get into the playoffs.

Basically there was a new league this year (conference of the carolinas) that made it an even 16 conferences. Some shifting was needed to make an even 4 conferences in each Super Region.

Kinda sucks, but this is all done by Geography and cutting on travel costs. So not all regions are created equal.

The GAC is terrible, but that's where Harding is. The MIAA top to bottom is usually the best league top to bottom most years. Kind of down, imo, in the middle this year.

In kind of a casual opinion ranking, what would you rank the strength of conferences this year?

Top to bottom the MIAA is probably best, at least according to Massey. Every team is in the top 67, with 7 in the top 50.

Most leagues are really bad at the bottom. But in the MIAA, if Washburn is your worst team, that's solid. Most leagues are really top heavy.

More 1:00 pm games.

Ferrum
Chowan -19.5 51.5

Line seemed high. Don't think I'm rushing to play Ferrum ML though

Jamestown
Minnesota-Moorehead -30.5. 58.5

May endorse a play on the over. Moorehead QB, Jack Strand leads the country in passing yards and TDs. Had 7tds last week. I think they score as much as possible hill to pad the stats for his Harlan Hill campaign.

Ferris St -22.5 61.5
Saginaw Valley St

Saginaw has been a bit of a thorn for Ferris. 3 of last 4 in the series have been one score games. Having given up 35 and 31 points the last 2 games, will we see a better effort from the D? Most games Ferris might go for 61 themselves. I think I lean under. But no play here.

Carson Newman
Newberry -2.5 -51.5

Another winner take all game for the automatic bid, although CN still needs to win next week as well. In general I lean under in these win and in games. Newberry 97th against the run. Think CN chews the clock. UNDER for me.

CSU Pueblo -2.5. 63.5
Colorado Mines

On paper Pueblo should roll here. Cause for pause is they are off an emotional win at West Colorado, rallying from 21-0 down to win. I'll play Pueblo ML but a little concerned.

This is great stuff guys, thank you! For next season, I am thinking about focusing on a couple of local D2 schools for the entire season, as JC Smith, Belmont Abbey and Wingate are all within 45 minutes of my house, so figured it might be fun to learn about the teams in the offseason and then check out a couple games during the season and focus a batch of bets on those 3 next season. Not set in stone, just something I have been thinking about for next season.

JC Smith and Wingate are both big players in d2.

Figure it would be fun as I had a blast going to see my Heels at Jerry Richardson Stadium earlier this season to take on UNCC, as the atmosphere was more like a high school game which was kinda cool. My thinking is this would be kinda similar to when I took a day off work a few years back and took in the Big South conference tourney at Bojangles Coliseum and bet on every game along the way. Was me and about 300-500 other degenerates at most, who just enjoyed basketball and had a great time while eating hot dogs and drinking overpriced beers all day until my wife picked me up at the end of the night.

Just found out BA doesn't have a team so JC Smith and Wingate it is!

Newbie question, but do you guys think either JC Smith or Wingate have a shot at hosting a playoff game this season as I wouldn't mind going to one of those.

I was going to say if one of us was betting a on a football team from Belmont Abbey I would have genuine concern
Ha...I was searching D2 schools within an hour of my house and those 3 came up...Should have added "D2 schools with a football team" LOL

JC Smith yes. They are 3rd. Only have 1 more game, Livingstone, who they should beat handily. They should definitely be hosting.

Wingate is dicey. They've lost to both Carson Newman and Newberry. Even if CN wins, I don't see Wingate getting up to the 4 seed.

Appreciate it man! Will see what date the game is on and see if I can get out there to check it out.

Sorry. JC Smith still has to win the CIAA champ game next week as well to host. I forgot the CIAA has a champ game

Are you hoping to have the Valdosta ML + ?

I think so. I know they are a small favorite by Massey. I just think Delta is in a bad spot after last week even though they are still in the playoff field as of now. They won't be with a loss here though.

Think I'll still ride with Valdosta, even though I'm not 100% confident.

MB off to a bad start again, after 8 and they still have locked FCS games up. Their best weeks is when they start offering the Dll games around 7 or earlier

Yeah today looks like it's gonna be a shitshow. I'm stuck working, so not looking good.

I played under 52.5 on Bentley 55.5 was Massey.

I'd play over on Davenport but the coaching suspensions Idk about
