While I completely agree with the original post, and I’m no gatekeeper, but it used to be if you had 8 paragraphs to say something, you didn’t do it in someone else’s thread… multiple times.

Good stuff C-70
Yeah, I see your point. Here's what you put in my thread.LOL

C-70 Blues Quotes
Here it is. Bias and incorrect info throughout.
"I have been breezing through this guys never ending writeups but had some time last night and decided to read some, including this one. There is a lot of incorrect info and plain old bias in this writeup. I will break it down line by line.

"Also - I remember that SF was supposed to be the better team when Mahome won his first SB over SF, with less experience than Garoppolo."

Mahomes entered that game with three postseason wins under his belt while Garoppolo had two.

"This year KC has less offense (no Hill who had 105 yds in that game)"

They did not have Tyreek Hill last year when they won the SB.

"Purdy who has better stats this year than Mahome."

First, SF is a running team that finished last in pass attempts while the Chiefs are a passing team who had the second most pass attempts during the 2023 season. How can you compare the QB's when one team threw it 635 times during the season to a team that threw it only 491 times?

And while we are comparing the QB'S, here are their postseason stats thus far:

Mahomes: 4 TD's 0 Int's 105.2 passer rating
Purdy: 2 TD's 1 Int 87.8 passer rating

"Both SF and KC had losses without all the starters playing but since KC lost SU to 2 teams that SF beat - still shows SF is the better team."

Do you have the stats backing that statement up or is that just your opinion?

"The one los to Baltimore by SF doesn't hold up because of the 5 SF turnovers IMO."

How that loss doesn't hold up is head shaking. Balt led 33-12 in the 4th quarter. Don't teams that score more points in a game ALWAYS win that game???

"In the Chiefs win over Baltimore - the Ravens had 3 turnovers and one goal line fumble that changed the outcome. The Chiefs were gifted that win."

Gifted? The fact that Steve Spagnuolo's defense allowed a total of three points in the second half is somehow a gift for KC??

"Im not discounting Mahomes talent but KC doesnt have McCaffrey and he is the main difference when you can see that Purdy and Mahome are about the same."

Mahomes: 4 TD's 0 Int's 105.2 postseason passer rating
Purdy: 2 TD's 1 Int 87.8 postseason passer rating

"The Ravens shutout of KC in the 2nd half last week, gives the SF defense a solid game plan to duplicate what the Ravens did.
Much like when SF shut out Detroit in the 2nd half and allowed that late TD to get the ball.and run out the clock."

Lets compare the defensive coordinators:
Steve Wilks - 1st year as the niners DC. He has coached in one super bowl back in 2015 when he coached the defensive backs and was the asst. head coach for the Panthers, who lost 24-10 to Denver.

Steve Spagnuolo - was the DC for the Giants in 2007 when they beat the undefeated Patriots 17-14 in the SB. He has been the defensive coordinator for the Chiefs since 2019 and has two SB wins and one loss under his belt.

"Lets hope there are no turnovers and that the winner will be who plays best."

Normally the better team creates turnovers. In what world does a team that coughs up the football in a game more than the other team considered the better team in that game???

So why did I go through this line by line? I'll tell you. This guy has SF as a 25 unit game of the year pick. I'm not suggesting that SF can't win but where are the HUGE mismatches in the 49ers favor to suggest this is a game of the year selection???

Thanks for your time."

Once again Kyle Shanahan blows a 10 point lead in a Super Bowl...

The NFC is now 1-8-2 ATS as SB favorites since 1995 with the 2010 Packers the only team to cover.

Once again Kyle Shanahan blows a 10 point lead in a Super Bowl...
Let's get this out there once and for all. Kyle Shanahan should be an OC not a HC. Three chances (2016, 2019, 2023) and no victories. As OC for the Falcons his team led from early in the 2nd quarter until 1:25 left in the 4th quarter-loss. In 2019 his team held a 10 point lead heading into the 4th quarter and got Mahomes to throw an INT with 12:05 remaining in the game-loss. Last night they led 4 separate times including a 3 point lead with 1:57 to go in regulation-loss.

You get very few chances in life to do something great and it was there for Shanahan and he came up empty again. He has had more chances than most people ever get to win the SB and has found a way to wrestle defeat from the jaws of victory.

And if you think I'm full of shit ask yourself this - which team was better prepared on what to do in OT last night with the new rule in place???

Best quote from that article - "Niners coach Kyle Shanahan said he and his analytics staff discussed overtime possibilities before the game, but Armstead and fullback Kyle Juszczyk both said that overtime strategy was not discussed with 49ers players leading up to the Super Bowl."

Somehow too many people have accepted "analytics" as the way to coach in this day and age. Analytics, to me, is a bunch of young smart kids who don't understand the history of the game because they grew up in the fantasy football world.

I didn't read the entire thread word for word but it seems like you read this game almost spot on over a week ago. Well done.

The problem is I'm too abrasive for many posters here. You have to be loud to get the attention of the "staring at their phone zombies" that inhabit this planet now. I'm trying to relay facts based on years of experience and when I see something that is clearly wrong I point it out. You dont handicap successfully by making excuses why the team you had lost. You figure out why you were wrong and try to correct it. It's hard to do that and be Mr. Nice Guy at the same time because people are so biased in their reasoning.

I will say this. I'm almost sorry I read that writeup from the guy posting the niners as his game of the year but when I read it, I couldn't believe the misinformation he posted. Almost all of it was total bias and nothing concrete yet nobody challenged it. It's more of that "participation trophy" thinking that has also permeated our society.
There, I've said my piece.

Problem is you talk to yourself all the fucking time

You're an easy dismiss

Chiefs ML +110 2 Units

San Fran needs to establish their running game to set up the pass. KC can throw anytime in any situation. Kansas City holds the edge in coaching, the QB position and in the kicking department.

I will also make some in game wagers as the games progresses but nowhere near as many as Hunt does!
Truer words were never spoken. And it proved to be the difference. Congrats

Whatever's transpired in the past in other sports forums, I have no context of. Part of the reason I stay away from certain sports forums is because it's always those sports that somehow bring out the worst in people. I have my reasonings as to why, but I'll leave it there.

Either way, I went back and read it all, every point you made was spot on, it was almost as if you were scripting it. That much should at the very least be acknowledged.

I guess the only thing not mentioned was the idiocy that could happen with Shannahan.

He’s not the one who called you out.

Capaholic is the one who did, and he would agree about C-70 doing the same in your thread. He just made a general statement, in this case it applies to both parties.

In this case, the reasoning was sound…he said he wanted the ball 3rd, when it would have been a sudden death situation. Can’t really blame the logic there, BUT not relaying that to your team, or even discussing the OT situation with them at all is THE major issue here.

On the flip side, KC players said, after the game, that the OT playoffs rules were mentioned/discussed on day one of training camp and that they literally went over scenarios and walked through them for the past 2 weeks. They were prepared.

Ironically, even with the sound logic of wanting to get the ball 3rd in OT should you match scores, the Chiefs also said they were going for 2 if SF scored 7 and they came down and scored a TD…so nobody would have gotten the ball 3rd, it would have been a 2 pt. conversion for the SB.

Spot on.

Let’s not forget the 10pt lead vs the Rams in the NFC Championship game in 2022. It gets to the point of being mental for Shanahan now. I’m not sure I’ve seen a better coach be so bad when it’s most needed.

That's just it. He's not a better coach. In fact I'll go as far as to say the 49ers right now are the 1990-1993 Buffalo Bills in the NFC. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in next years SB and lose to the Bills.:tiphat:
