CCC ROUNDTABLE WEEK 8 WINNERS DISCUSSION

Its good advice and I should do it more often. I usually end up buying my partner something since she puts up with my incessant football watching and my head being in the clouds all season.

Sammy I'll donate 10% of my profits this season to charity if you will also. I'll post my donation receipt at year's end.

100% I’m in.

Canada’s richest man Jim Pattison from Vancouver has always donated 10% of his pay Cheques even before he was rich.

Because everyone’s winning amounts may vary perhaps we could find a mutual cause where we feel is great and all contribute towards it.

Doesent have to be a huge amount , it’s the thought and energy and consistency and fact that we are showing others the path!

Something like $500 for the season! That’s reasonable. To go along with personal acts such as homeless individuals local charities that can be done on our own.

So Manziel confirmed to start.

The bars in Texas are going to be rocking on Friday night. Maybe even Vegas will be showing it on Friday and that might draw a considerable crowd in the casinos to watch Johnny play.

Funny thing is Johnny football is literally a 1.45 hour drive from where I am. Too funny.

Alright I’m in for $500. We’ll figure out the charity later. Maybe something that helps football players cope with early-onset CTE.

Seeing a slight bit of movement toward Montreal since the news broke. With any luck by kickoff the public will push this line down to something where we can get value on the cats.

This this this

June is gonna know what hes comfortable with because he was having JM tell him for a month

I think he may win some games, but he needs to experience the 12 men, the motion, the extra db etc. In real game time

Also sammy will love this

On the news last night they talked to jarious about how he and wally came up with the offensive scheme

Says lulay is the perfect qb for it, its built around him cause the qb makes chick checks at the line

So why the fuck did they build a lulay offense when jenning is the 'present and future' fucking wally

Hope the rumors that hervey can bring reilly back are true

So how low do we think Hamilton will go? What’s the number we strike at?

I think -4.5 is possible and even -3.5 not out of the question.

My twitter feed is blowing up with manziel news. It’s being widely reported in the US. If I were a betting man I’d bet that a lot of people will lay their first and only cfl bet on this game.

I think people will just blindly bet Montreal at home because of manziel.

Montreal is horrific at home. Bad defensive scheme as well.

Overall Montreal sucks. Crappy fgoal kicker.

But masoli has been struggling of late. He hasn’t been able to do much. But with tasker tolliver returning to the lineup it should help.

Reilly if paid more would probably leave to bc. I believe he’s from the Washington area. So he could be close to home and drive home to see family.

I think this could be the clincher.

Plus he could hike go to beach eat sushi and pick up chicks at roxy?

FRESH LOBSTER ALERT

So I met my Mexican homie MANUEL and he told me this:

There’s a place in Prince Edward Island that you can buy fresh lobster from.

He said he bought $500 of lobsters for 20 people and he ordered it in the morning and it arrived at 4 pm.
It said on the bill it was caught this morning and packaged and shipped in a cooler express.

So it’s basically very fresh when it comes to your house.
He opened the coolers and the lobsters looked and tasted amazing he said.

I can get the name of the company if anyone wants to try. I wouldn’t mind buying a shit load of salmon fresh ocean style!!!

This is the way fresh Pei style!!!

Then we will be set for our new trailer for our new gambling movie starring Hulu the hotstepper.

Al Pacino: “ All he does is HIT WINNERS AND EAT
FRESH LOBSTER and Donate to charity! The guys a Modern Day Buddha!

Some changes for the esks this week.

OL Sorenson out this week and LB Mulumba-Taimamga goes on the 6gm.
NAT Korey Jones starting at WLB.
DBs Arjen Colquhoun and Mercy Masden rejoin the lineup. Both were regular starters last season until Masden was hurt after labour day and Colquhoun was hurt in camp this year.

Collaros starting for Riders tomorrow.

Derrel Carter back on offense as well.

Collaris might be rusty. Interesting game tomorrow.

I don’t see more than a touchdown difference between these teams.

The key to beating Edmonton is very simple.

Limit Dhawuille Williams and Derrel Walker.

If you can stop the big long passes to Duke Williams and Walker you can beat Edmonton.

Does sask have the dbs? Toby Antigua man to man on Duke Williams??

I think if the average smallish Cfl dB was Matched up against Duke and Derrel in a practice 1 on 1 setting and ran 50 pass routes I truly believe the average dB wouldn’t block or break up more than 1-2 passes out of 50.

This is how bad smaller cfl dbs are.

Many are really quick but very small. 5’5 - 5’8

That’s impossible to cover guys 6’2-6’4

Same thing with Canadian safeties. Balls in the air and they get completely turned around and lose track of the ball so easily.

I don't know what to think about Collaros starting. Jones has been playing games with the media all week. Saying Collaros will play but Bridge will also play. Who knows what nonsense he'll come up with.

I doubt Sask DBs can stop the esks big play receivers but they may not have to as the riders will get to Reilly a lot and prevent a lot of the long ball plays.

Teases are tough Hulu.

Although I do agree. Hard to see Toronto winning of sask.

But I don’t believe it would be a huge upset if Toronto or sask won.

Montreal won in sask. that was unexpected.

Yes I think no team can stop Reilly’s deep passing game if he has time except for cgy.

Historically teasers always look great but aren’t profitable.

I’m focusing on Ottawa. I think they can win and cover. Toronto has a decent defense but if stubler drops into zone hard to not see Ottawa use sinioli in the short game all day.

Can Toronto bounce back?

Looks like they are in dissatrsy.

Bethel Thompson shouldn’t do too much.

Ottawa should win by 7 imo

Yeah I agree that Toronto’s problems go beyond qb. The O line has played awful and they have sub-par receiving talent. Also the flswfenae has been banged up.

But it’s tough to trust Trevor Harris. And they are playing their second road game back to back.

I keep looking but I’m just not seeing a bet I like that I can’t make a good opposing case for.

CCC story of the day.

A man Heard a voice during deep meditation. It said

There are three types of people;

one who hears through one ear- it never reaches anywhere. In fact they don’t hear, just the sound vibrates and disappears.

Secondly there are people who hear, but only momentarily- they hear through one ear, and through the other ear it is lost into the world again.

Thirdly there are few souls who hear through their ears and it reaches their heart.

When using your time wisely speak to ppl who take whatsoever you say to their hearts.
Don’t waste time and energy on those that listen with 1 ear.

I like collarros a lot but him starting makes that no play for me, maybe live

Cant have any clue what he looks like at this point, but when he gets healthy hes a play on for me

Let me play devil's advocate with you teeed....

What could Collaros possibly do worse than the clusterfuck playing scared offense of Bridge and Watford?

Just his football brain alone makes Sasky immediately a better team IMO. I think this is the game you find value in getting 7 with that defense and QB who is actually competent.

Still haven't pulled the trigger, but if Sling Blade hadnt played so insanely scared to lose at that position last week, I might think differently.

For sure leaning on the Sask side though....just not 100% sure yet.

Not to mention that Jones keeps saying Bridge will play too so we really don’t even know how much either of them play. And knowing Jones he might even do something crazy like bring Watford in for a series or two.

If I knew Collaros was the starter and will play the whole game barring injury, I would like sask but there’s just no telling what Jones will do.

Forrest Gump would be able to know that combined Collaros has more football intelligence/skill/savvy in his left nut than the other 2 have combined. If Jones is this stupid to fuck with 2 guys who cannot play if ZC is healthy, then he's the dumbest man alive. (Which he could be)

And if ZC isn't ready, he shouldn't be stepping onto a field until he's 100%, period. Jones making a clusterfuck out of this whole situation.

Argos are alive dog :watchingsports:

Yes I think this line has gotten out of hand. There’s a lot of ?? On the Toronto defence but I feel like Bethel-Thomson knows this is his one shot and will bring some like to the Toronto offense. Bringing in Ryan Bomben in the trade with MTL will help solidify the line but that’s a ? too.

If this number hits 7 I would consider a play on the Argos.

Agree totally. Jones should be a DC and never let near an offense again.

I just played the under 48 in the Argos based solely on history. I know past performances don't reflect future games, but what do you experts think?

Ottawa:
  • Under is 9-1 in OTT last 10 vs. East.
  • Under is 9-2 in OTT last 11 road games.
  • OTT are 22-6 ATS in their last 28 road games.
Toronto:
  • TOR are 2-12 ATS in their last 14 games in August.
  • Under is 7-2-2 in TOR last 11 vs. East.
  • Under is 9-3 in TOR last 12 games in Week 8.
Plus the under is 16 out of 23, including the last 5 between these two.

In zane.

Id lean under.

Neither team throws deep.

Toronto has no deep receivers anymore after Posey Devier left.
Ottawa q.b Harris has pocket movement issues. Meaning he’s terrible moving in the pocket so he can’t set his feet in pocket to look deep.

Both teams run a lot and thriw shirt balls.

I could see a game with 41-46 points.

I also believe their turf is horrible. Players falling. Turf is worst in cfl. That could help also. M

The vibe I’m feeling is that this week is tricky.

I don’t feel anyone’s super confident and there seems to be a lot of questions.

Perhaps stuck to totals.

Or the first half unders which hits in many games.

That turf issue is way overblown IMO.

One player slipped one time and TSN covers it like its watergate. It’s a non-factor as far as capping goes. A bigger factor at BMO is the wind tunnel effect from the open end facing the lake.

Quietly lost in all the Manziel nonsense, Tommie Campbell isn’t practicing this week. Joe Burnett is still out and Mitchell Whyte is lost for the season.

TJ Heath will step into White’s position but he just arrived this week.

This secondary is a mess.

I wonder about the over here. Masoli always plays better on the road and should be able to move the ball against this mish-mash of a secondary. On the other side, even with only a handful of practices, johnny should be able to score a few more points than his predecessors I would hope. He looked basically capable in preseason, has a coach who knows him and should know the Ticats defense fairly well.

50 is a bit steep. Wish I had clued into this play earlier.

This is an interesting take that has some merit IMO

http://3downnation.com/2018/08/02/johnny-manziels-agent-starting-him-this-quick-is-insane/

And there’s a comeback SZN podcast that Johnny-boy does every week? Do we need any further reminders that he doesn’t really want to be here?

I think manziel will struggle in the cfl.

When flutie Garcia warren moon were here the defenders were very slow in speed.

Look at the advances in training for athletes.

Michael Vick at one time would run around like crazy. Now no QBs can run without getting hurt.

The speed of cfl defenders is much faster than in years past.

The cfl requires throwing from the pocket. Not manziel strengths.
After analyzing manziel I don’t believe he can make a lot of the required cfl throws and reads.

He throws a lot of outs and inside hooks. He makes most throws off scrambles and broken plays.
A cfl defense is much faster than an nfl defense. There’s an extra player. There are linebackers who are 190lbs and fast. Every player is smaller and faster negating the advantages manziel has vs roided our larger players in the nfl.

Also Montreal is 2 seasons away before fixing this mess.

Kavis Reed has no business being a gm

Mike Sherman no business coaching in cfl

Rick stubler no business either.

This team has holes everywhere.

Johnny might want to put his comeback on hold because truth is he doninated vs college kids but has accomplished nothing as a pro.
He is more entertaining than good.

I feel he will be in for a rude awakening.

I saw a car the other day. It had a ticats license plate. A sign from above?

Wow Rich stubler bullshit defense with all new guys. How are they going to pick up his useless zone defense?

I think Johnny has the natural ability and skill set to be a great CFL QB someday.

What I’ve said all along is that he lacks commitment. He views the league as another outlet for his self-promotion. As a stepping stone back to the NFL and not as a place to make a career. He’s never said it directly but you can see it in a lot of ways. For that reason alone he’ll never be great.

I doubt he ever signs another CFL contract.

I don’t think the nfl will come running for him.

QBs like this are at their prime from 18-24.

As they are ultra fast and athletic.

Then they decline very fast as their speed goes.

Watch Johnny now vs his freshman season at Texas. He looks twice as fast running in college.

Superb points. I feel like TiCats might use this defense to open things up into a 30 pt game. Cats -7 says it all. Tasker and tolliver back...

So some Montreal money started coming in as we approach kickoff but not enough to offset the sharp money on Hamilton that pushed it to 7.

Doubt it goes lower than 6.5.
