Cavs thread...

It’s no secret NBA is my least favorite sport to cap (w NFL a close second). However I do feel like I have a pretty good read on this Cavs team... Going to post plays/leans on their games here for the season

Love is back tonight, However TT is out. I love Beiheim and I think is a very good coach for this team. However, they are simply young and inexperienced. I’m not sure how they keep this within DD tonight. Heat -10.5 as I expect them to cover easily

Thoughts on Sexton?

I find myself going back and forth with him. Was critical of him most of last season then I started to turn the corner. I like they are playing him at 2 this year and will benefit him in the long run. However Garland is so raw he will struggle this year which will affect Sexton as well. Them 2 and Porter going forward I think will be very fun to watch. Love Sextons bulldog mentality, think it gets him into trouble sometimes though. He will learn to control that...If he can keep knocking the 3 down consistently he can be a very good player

That went about exactly as expected

1-0

Friday night taking Mavs -5.5 1H

Expect Dallas to get up quick and not look back. Cavs last game on a road trip and have a back to back with Portland on Sat at home. They are ready to get back home and regroup.

Unfortunately was extremely tied up Saturday. Wasn’t able to post.

2-0
Cavs +1 tonight

Tough loss, we had a million chances at the end only for a last second game winner. Can’t win them all

6 turnovers in first 8 mins and Orlando shooting lights out and it’s a tied game. No way this keeps up

Unreal. Was completely off here. Expected a much better effort out of the gate against a team missing 2 staters and winless on the road

15 turnovers in first half, 2 fouls on a 3 point shot(1 4 point play). Only 3 turnover for Orlando and they can’t pull away. Cavs clean this up at halftime they have a good chance at winning this game

Sorry for late post. Bucks -10.5 here. Going to be very tough for Cavs to keep this in dd

So, I read the rumblings in preseason and see the athletic article now about players tuning out Coach already..Thoughts @jimbof20 ?

I heard it as well, haven’t really been able to tune in this week as I normally would. Early in the season I was impressed, thought he had them playing well. Last couple weeks I do feel like he is losing them. I had my concerns when they hired him. Such a young team, and such a old style coach. It’s going to be a very long season. I do think Bickerstaff will be the long term coach

Philly -6 1h and 10 for game. Was waiting to see if Love plays but don’t think it matters. Philly looking to bounce back after losing Thurs, very good at home. Cavs on a b2b, trade rumors of Love are real, Beiheim in midst of losing the locker room. Not sure how this doesn’t get ugly

Honestly not anytime soon. Simply don’t have the talent. Love will be gone soon. Beiheim has lost the locker room imo. Maybe they hang tight vs weak teams but expect a blow out against any quality team moving forward

Yeah, the first few weeks kinda impressed me but alas...

Gonna fall just short. Shoulda flew over. Good game plan by coach in the 2nd half I will say

Suns lose.. Oubre and Booker the 2 best shooters were missing in action and our ?center was also lost in space

Spurs -7 1st half. I think Cavs will come out flat after playing as well as they could against Houston last night, they aren’t built to run and keep up like they did last night , factor in Traveling, playing a Spurs team who is playing pretty well right now. Pretty much expect a route here, I like the first quarter, the game and also San Antonio over but I feel like first half is the best

Do you expect any improvement?

I don’t know what it would matter as far as results right now. A lot of local talk about possibly swapping out Sexton w Porter Jr. Starting lineup is one of the worst in the NBA and getting them down big early in games. Garland and Porter Jr is actually the future that I see

Heard that JB has a front office position to transition to when done as coach. Can they make it all year?

A lot has happened. And I’m expecting more trades soon. Love is out tonight. Clarkson who is about the only player that can get hot is gone. Travel day off a blow out. Taking a stab at Minny -3.5 1st half. GL

Looks good.

Just heads up, Nance and Porter Jr both out tonight. Will be shorthanded. Gonna need Sexton to put up 25 to have a chance. It is his birthday. So maybe he goes off

Beiheim catching a ton of criticism for saying “thugs”. Starting to wonder if he makes it the entire year. The plan was always for Bickerstaff to take over, May as well get it over with..I think Beiheim is a very good coach, however the hire didn’t make sense then and still doesnt.

I totally get why he left college ball and he needed the challenge also but yeah...it's not working... I'm curious how they approach this since he was gonna eventually slide into the front office.

As much as I disagreed w most moves since Griff left, I think the Drummond trade was very smart.. They know they aren’t gonna be able to sign anybody big in the off-season, makes sense to do something like this so you can at least try to offer somebody the most money. Maybe him and Porter Jr and garland can click for the last few months and have him opt in for another year and see what happens . My perfect scenario would be ending up w Edwards in the draft. Then going into next year with a starting lineup of Garland,Edwards, Porter Jr, Love and Drummond. I think that something they can build on. W Sexton as instant offense off the bench. Like I said earlier in the year his best spot is to be a 6 man (convincing him maybe the hard part ) and I believe that is their plans Cedi and Nance and Exum solid pieces as well for depth. Top of the draft will be. Wet guard heavy and there’s a few I wouldn’t mind, Edwards is my top though.

On a side note if Warriors can draft Wiseman. Watch out

I’m drinking the cool aid. Cavs 3 days off, should be some excitement at home tonight w Drummond. Clippers coming off a track meet last night vs Minny. Traveling , No Kawhi or Beverly tonight. Morris first game w Clips trying to fit in... Taking Cavs +6
