Great year for deals.
I like it from all standpoints. Actually think SEA suffers the most losing Wally . He was playing great ball for them. Clearly understand why they did it but just from a quality standpoint this season.
Cleveland might lose Gibson for awhile but West will probably play the point and he has shown flashes of being capable. Some times players just need the opportunity , look at how well Rondo has played in Boston. I wonder if they start Varaejo at PF when he returns and let Wallace backup both Z and him. I think that could b a great way to get max effort out of Big Ben. Sort of return to the role that made him famous . Wally fills a great need of someone who can actually hit a jumper consistently. Oh wait they got Joe Smith as well playing some great ball. Joe Smith is the equivalent of the guys in MLB who cant get major league deals because of past injury issues and sign 1 yr minor league contract and blossoms. Think Dmitri Young . Anyway you can start Joe Smith at PF and have both Varaejo and Wallace off the bench..
G's : Devin Brown , West , Gibson , Pavlovic , Damon Jones , Snow and Szczerbiak( or SF ).
SF's : King James
PF's: Joe Smith & Varaejo
C: Z and Wallace
Shedding Hughes and Gooden rid them of two veterans whose name outweighed there level of play.
Even though Chi lost Wallace and J. Smith they have so many bigs with the acquistion of Gooden as well. I'd rather have Larry Hughes bad contract then Wallace's bad contract. SO I think the trade did work for both of them.
G : Duhon , Hinrich , Hughes , Selfosha ,Gordon and S.Brown
SF: Deng , Nocioni
PF: Gooden , T. Thomas , Simmons
C: Noah and Gray
