Carson Palmer Hates Ohio State Fans

Carson Palmer is a man of few words. Wait, did we say "few"? We mean "ill-chosen and recklessly incendiary." When on a Los Angeles-area radio show this past Thursday, the USC alum had this to say about Ohio State fans:
I cannot stand the Buckeyes.
Well, that's not a very nice thing to
It's amazing to hear what those guys think about that university and what they think about that football program and Tressel and all the crap I gotta put up with being back there.
Okay, you've made your point, Carso
I just can't wait for two years from now when SC comes to the 'Shoe and hopefully we'll have a home game that weekend and I can go up there and watch us pound on them in their own turf
Carson.
I'm really getting sick of it and I just can't wait for this game to get here so they can come out to the Coliseum and experience LA and get an old-fashioned Pac-10 butt-whoopin' and go back to the Big Ten.
Okay. Let's get you home.

Granted, the vitriol is probably comically overstated, as he was talking to sports radio jockeys in USC's backyard. Also, unlike some people, he didn't bring up genocide. Still, this being the age of the Internet, we're more than happy to share woofing like that when Carson Palmer's name is attached to it. We're not trying to discourage it, of course; this is ten thousand times better than the boilerplate "looking to go out there and compete" phrases that typically come out of athletes' mouths.

Palmer may, however, want to avoid taking shots at a team that's a heck of a lot more popular--and successful--than his Bengals.

people hate the best

Historically speaking, USC, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame, have all accomplished more on the college football gridiron than tOSU, plus, Florida and LSU both pounded you in national title games the past two years, so where does the "hate the best" part come in?

and cp just mad cuz buckeyes would go into paul brown stadium any day and shit on da bengals

:)

A Trojan pointing out the pompous nature of the Buckeyes and their fans?

Talk about the pot calling the pot black. Smart pot though.

I'm sure a Tiger would have called out the Buckeyes too if he could get to the radio station after sobering up enough from a night of drinking bourbon and moonshine and his Camaro was running instead of on blocks in his front yard.

Just pulling your leg, P&G. Can't let the Bucks take all the heat in this thread.

PS--Just for shits and giggles I took the Bucks SU against the Trojans with a buddy of mine who is an SC fan. Bet was for lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant. I hope to God I lose the bet.

Thats THE Louisiana State Tigers!

And we did call out the Buckeyes before during and after the last two championship games. I will never forget the Buckeyes fans rooting for UM to make the Championship game in 06. Ba Ha Ha Ha!

Hmmmmm let me get this straight ....

-2003 . The USC trojans don't even play in the national title game but claim to be the champion at seasons end anyway

-2004. win national title and fans are obnoxious claiming back-to-back championships

-2005. Annointed "The greatest team of all-time" and a "dynasty" before they even play the NC game. Vince young bends them over , while somehow losing the heisman to the trojans back up rb.

-2006. Trojans are still putting out dynasty propaganda despite having only one national championship in the last twenty years.

-2007. Lose to Stanford as a 41.5 point favorite and complain about ohio states inability to win the big game. Stories of violations concerning the BS heisman winner in 2005, linger all season and makes many question how valid the one championship they won actually was.

yes, carson ........ buckeye fans are obnoxious.......

Don't get me wrong. USC fans are EXTREMELY obnoxious--mostly the bandwagoners.

My wife and I are Texas fans living in SoCal. One of her friends in a local charity went to USC. At a recent meeting, CFB came up and she kind of got in my wife's face saying "Yeah, USC!" My wife didn't say anything but was just thinking to herself, "Uh huh, I was at the game where you LOST 41-38. Do you remember the score/outcome?"

Typical SC "fan".

The longtime fans and boosters are better. I'm good friends with a major booster down here in San Diego and we talk recruiting and CFB every time we meet up.

USC will be 1-1 after the OSU game boys... Bet on it. Unless they get "deliveranced" first by the Virginia billies.

USC will be 2-1 after the OSU game boys... Bet on it.

Can I? I will bet you a $100,000 they aren't 2-1 after the tOSU game.

USC plays UVa in Week 1 and has a bye in Week 2. So they can either be 0-2, 1-1, or 2-0...but cannot be 2-1.

Wouldnt that be great if they beat USC and an SEC team for the N-title in the same season?!!!

That's not silly, that is smart. Two booster games heading into the big one...not sure why thats silly. Explain further

I personally hate alumni/fundraising/recruiting games. It's made even worse when you play a D-IAA team like Youngstown St.

I understand why Tressel does it but I don't like it.

Makes Texas look like a tough scheduler when they schedule a Sun Belt opponent and Rice every year. Or FAU and UTEP before their rivalry game with Arkansas.

lmfao at you making fun of non conference scheduling...you have two 72-0 games every year...

tOSU has home and homes w/ USC, Miami, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma then next eight years...give me a break.

I agree with you. I hate Texas' non-conf schedule, with the exception of the one decent non-conf they try to schedule.

This year it's Arky (and they are in a down year), then it'll be Wyoming next year (because Arky backed out of the 2nd half of a Home and Home). After that UCLA when they should be in top form, followed by Ole Miss.

tOSU schedules ONE tough non-conf each year. Otherwise, their non-conf is a joke.

well we have Troy and USC this year....I remember Troy beating a couple Big 12 teams..

So I don't know what people want...

Besides a playoff and championship game.

So I don't know what people want...

Not scheduling D-IAA opponents for starters. And that goes for almost every top D-IA school. No excuse.

Now, if you're Baylor, Army, or Duke, I really don't care. But tOSU, Penn St, Va Tech, Georgia, and others? It's embarrassing.

:shake:

95 % of condom fans don't know who the coach before Pom Pom was. fact.

every SEC does it but get a pass...this is an alma mater deal..not the norm for tOSU.

Believe me, I don't give the SEC any pass in their non-conf schedule. They are some of the worst offenders. Not only do they tend to include at least one D-IAA team per schedule, but the SEC does not travel for non-confs (notable exception is Tennessee).

Look at miles traveled for non-confs amongst the conferences and the SEC is the lowest by a factor of 10.

Do you feel better now that I'm picking on the big, bad SEC?

if Neuheisel gets UCLA straightened out, they might have to compete w/ for recruits again.

They already are and the SC fans are scared. The fact that Chow is over there and that he hates Carroll is even more reason.

UCLA has a top 10 QB from Upland HS coming in next year and this kid will be a RS-So or Junior when we play them. The rest of the recruiting class should be equally good.

They will be hitting stride in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

oh and i heard the interview live. it was pretty funny. u could tell tosu is a very sore subject for him. it really didn't seem like the comments were said i jest at all.

what sucks is Neu had to get rid of Eric Scott (he was the assistant that guy involved in some type of burglary controversy that ended up going nowhere but it looked bad). Scott was from the inner-city and had a great connection with the kids. He, along with DeWayne Walker, was largely responsible for the class coming in this season. Scott was also responsible for Brian Price and Ray Carter the year before. Price is probably the only MUST-HAVE recruit UCLA has beaten sc out for (DT tackle, complete stud, pompom pulled out all the stops for him)

so the past two years, UCLA's classes were actually respectable compared to sc's. this year so far, without Scott around to recruit, and Neu's bizarre choice to go national with recruiting all combined with carroll's awarence of UCLA becoming a threat, sc has locked up a lot of the local studs, whereas in the past they'd slow play the local guys and go after the big fish nationaly, figuring the local guys were theirs if they wanted them.
The problem with recruiting this season for UCLA is they don't have many kids locked up yet so on-field success could play a big factor, but there just doesn't figure to be much success this season.

long-term tho, with Neu and Chow on board, sc is definitely facing a much tougher foe than they had to deal with Dorrell.

When you say stride, I assume you're referring to probation?<!-- / message -->
