Lol, what? Have you seen the rest of the league recently? Smith does exactly what's asked of him, protects the ball, completes over 60% of his throws and his teams win games year after year.

Since 2011 he has completed 64% of his passes, and has thrown 94 TDs and 31 INTs. You remember he was the QB in SF the year Kaep took over because Smith got hurt and Smith was absolutely lighting it up. He's made the playoffs in KC 2 of the past 3 years, and I'm not sure he's has more than one actual NFL WR to call his own the entire time he's been there.

No, he's not a light it up fantasy QB, but using that as a comparison is silly...as is your "what has he won" question. If we're only judging QBs on what they've won, the list of good QBs can be counted with one finger every year, and at most a handful if you're counting getting to a Championship game a "success." You'll notice that I said "his team" has won a majority of the games he's been the QB, because we should all know that football is the ultimate team game and QBs cannot be held to W-L record as a sole measuring stick (kinda like pitchers in baseball with Wins).

You said you're not sure how he's a starting QB in the NFL, and there is at least half of the league that would rather have Alex Smith as their starter than the one they have. It seems your book of "good" is actually "elite." Which is fine, but just say elite (or even "great") and not "good starting QB," because that's pretty much exactly what Smith has been for the past 6 years or so. He's almost the definition of "good" in today's NFL and he's often used as a measuring stick for what teams w/o a QB actually want in a QB if they can't get the elite level QBs...which there aren't too many of those floating around.
