Bowl Match Ups

ProV, too many options for us at this point. ACC Championship will determine our fate. Peach, Fiesta or Tax-Slayer. Bowl selection committee will have to seed ND as an affiliate.

Was at the abortion of a Saints game and saw the advertisement of SEC v B12 game.....in Houston?

How the fuck does this shit work? I can promise you that the Sugar wants Ole Miss, thy haven't been since man has been on the moon. However, don't they default to this stupid shit the 2 conferences have?

Let's not go all Rose Bowl and fuck it up for everyone lol

Texas Bowl is in Houston and is a B12 v SEC tie in, as is Liberty

As a Bama fan, I'm hoping this somehow shakes out, assuming a win in Atlanta, where we don't have to play Oklahoma. Iowa or Mich St would be a dream. Less excited to play Clemson and really wouldn't feel great about playing Oklahoma right now.

SEC and Big 12 made an agreement that top teams not in Playoff play each other

Would love OU/Bama in Title Game. Want another shot at the fighting Dwight's, after last year's Russell Athletic ass kicking.

Based on these matchups and outside of the good team bowls, I would prob only plan a portion of my day around to watch:

TCU v Oregon
Michigan v Florida

Just not a lot to get excited about in the crappy bowls based on what I see.

Mizzou v WMU
MTSU v Akron
Uconn v SJSU

Yikes.

BGSU v Ga Southern actually has some appeal to me, too. This bowl situation is getting out of control though, 5 win teams going bowling this year. Bout to be some participation trophies handed out and no more playoff by 2025

No matter who we would play in the playoff, if we get there, it's going to be a good team. I'm just glad it's not going to be in New Orleans. Saban's record there is not good, outside the 2011 Champ game

I have a buddy who goes to every Uconn game. He says worst matchup for Huskies would be Georgia Southern and their option. I see above where they're matched up with SJST. Could it get any uglier than that? But I'm sure I'll watch all 3.5 hours of it! Lol

I really don't think much of Iowa or Mich St. The 49-0 Capitol One Bowl against Kirk Cousins is still one of the most enjoyable football games I've ever watched. We made Le'Veon Bell look like Leonard Fournette. They had -48 rushing yards lol. I would expect a similar scoreline should we meet again

That was certainly one of the most lopsided games I've ever seen. I think the B1G is significantly better than the Big 12 this year. OU looks great right now, but the two best teams they played were missing their best players. And I didn't think much of TCU to begin with, but they are certainly a better team with Boykin and Doctson. I also don't see Stoops installing a new offense during the break this year like he did in 2013. The rest of the damage they did was against Kansas St, Texas Tech, Kansas, and Iowa St. The SEC may be down this year, but it's better than that

No offense GPS, but saying that OU hasn't had the toughest road to the playoffs and touting Bama's is a head scratcher. My favorite statement is, "insert team-a into Bama's schedule and how would they do." I would argue that OU would have the same, if not better, record as Bama. Bama's road to the playoffs has gone through a bunch of mediocre teams. The SECw is not as dominant as SEC fans like to think. Bama's best win was against either a Wisconsin team or MSU. Neither of which are setting the world on fire. So, there really isn't much difference in OU vs Bama's schedule.

I agree with you and should have included that in my post. My point was basically that OU is being touted as the team playing the best right now, and if you look at it, it's not against the best competition. I'd argue that Mich St is playing the best in the country right now. Or UNC

Regardless, parity is king this year in college football, and on any given day, any of about 10 teams could be the "best" team. Matchups, as usual, will determine the outcomes

I definitely agree with UNC playing the best ball in the nation, right now. I would be extremely careful if I was Clemson. They haven't been playing as well as of late. I will give last week a pass (Rivalry), but that game was cemented early and they did not keep their foot on USCe's throat as they should have. The two weeks prior, they seemed to play down to their competition. They will not be able to do so in this game. Of those guaranteed a spot with a win, this is the one I can see losing it on the final weekend of the year. Shame of it is, UNC has a very slight chance of making it in. The talking heads are already trying to find a way for 2-loss Stanford to fill that void if Clemson goes down. The only thing worse would to be to let tOSU back in.

On a side note, Clemson's offense is very similar to that of AU and we all know that Chizik has seen that type of O.

MSU only has to win to get in. I have watched Iowa a few times this year and I like the team, but don't feel they will stand a chance to win it all. However, they match up well with MSU. I would not be surprised to see Iowa take this game in an ugly one. Will be looking for a FG prop in this game. Can see more than the typical 3.5 Vegas hangs out there for games. Both defenses have the bend but don't break mentality.

OU hasn't been playing against the best competition? Who has played a tougher stretch than @Baylor, v TCU and @Okie St?

Backup QB, 3rd string QB, backup QB. Like I mentioned earlier, I don't think the Big 12 is very strong, in fact I think it's #5 of the power 5 top to bottom. 3-4 pretty good to good teams in OU, Baylor, TCU, and Okie St, and OU is the only of the 4 who played anyone with a pulse outside of the conference (maybe TCU vs Minnesota). OU may very well be the best team in the country, I just don't think it's a given based on the last few weeks.

IU-Duke Pinstripe Bowl
UCLA-NU Foster Farms
Baylor-UNC Russell Athletic
Texas Tech- LSU Texas Bowl
KSt-Arky Liberty Bowl

Shouldn't have a problem getting on to the craps tables for a couple days there

I might break character and write up the Fiesta Bowl, with a posted play.

Nice. look forward to it Tip. You probably follow both schools and it is a better game than the game you were covering in the ingame

So we can have a few 5-7 teams in bowls, but they couldn't prevent two teams from the same conference playing each other? WTF?
