Bowl Games (Not CFP) Discussion Thread

Typically I won't lick my chops about ISU games and take a bit of a back seat but if they both play no one in CFB gets a bigger gift for their draft stocks than Noel and Higgins getting to play the Canes defense
 
Against assuming everyone plays which really the biggest issue in these fucking games I really like unlv as dogs vs cal.
 
Some of this depends on Horvarh health but if he still unable to throw ball like he did early in year you gotta believe the Sooners with time to prepare will absolutely smother the navy option. Tough to lay points with Ou but a play on navy under feels like a must if Horvath can’t throw, only Chance navy has to move the ball is him throwing it. There just no way I can see a Venables d with superior athletes all over and time to prepare letting the option gain a yard!

Only game I got killed on was the disaster at Pitt, think I missed mccord yards by one or two and then their team total was totally dust lol. Overall no complaints otherwise!

That’s my order. Vandy was so good to me from the jump. And we called that Pitt win vs Cuse a mile away in the threads if I remember right. That’s the only reason I got Cuse 3rd.

Ill never be able to forgive vandy for losing to some little sister the poor team from Georgia! Every week they compete or beat a sec team I get reminded of the massive parlay they cost me losing that game! Lol. Man it was a monster 7 teamer too! Can’t remember who I saw they playing but my initial reaction was def Vandy as small dogs, but man It will take me years to get over that loss! 😆

Pitt been really good to me also. Actually 2 of last 3 years I think they have. Whenever narduzi has a qb and gets out the Oc way pitt very tough. It when he starts trying to play his preferred 3 yards and cloud of dust football when Pitt becomes unwatchable. I do like their aggressive nature on d, and if they get to play a team who depends on the run they usually a great bet, they can get roasted by big plays tho cause Narduzzi is big about leaving his corners on a island. The cuse game was a total anomaly where they actually confused a very good passing attack, but for as much I like cuse qb McCord he does have a habit of going color blind and hitting the wrong team square in the chest w the ball! It was a miracle they beat unlv, they had chance to put game away and he threw a red zone pick when a fg woulda been just fine. Then on that final drive to force ot when cuse got into red zone he seriously hit 3 different unlv defenders square in the hands with the ball, just lucky that why they play d cause he Bally lost that game 4x but Rebs couldn’t catch any of them!
 
Does wvu have guys bailing on this game? U see props of for Greene and their WRs. If everyone playing for wvu I kinda feel like Memphis -6 is crazy! Maybe I’m underrating Memphis? I know wvu been a pretty inconsistent team but if they motivated and all playing I have a hard time saying Memphis is better than them! Memphis had a really good year no doubt but it not like they were playing many power teams (unless you count fsu they beat 20-12! lol), I look at what Horvath for navy did to the Memphis d and yes it a entirely different system but ya gotta believe Greene could absolutely go nuts running and throwing vs Memphis! There 2 ways I see to play this game, Greene props or wvu., they were actually better away from home for some reason, they obviously played a stronger schedule. I don’t think Memphis will have much success rushing against wvu so henigan will have to have a monster game to keep Memphis in it cause i think Greene gonna put up a lot of points!!

This is what I’ve heard about WV.
West Virginia is a shell of itself heading into tomorrow's game against Memphis. Its two primary receiving threats are out due to injury, its best LB/defender and starting CB have entered the portal.
 
So no props for any cal players. I know their qb situation is fubar but fugured they have running back numbers? The passing prop number for Rebs qb is really low. I don’t think I can go under that but it kinda makes me think white under his rec total could be a solid play, mentioned in another thread I dint think Rebs offense incredibly tough to figure out, they got few players but the system is mostly zone read run game with the rpo passing they love to hit white on slants and he can take it ti the house at any time. Thing is it not extremely complicated to stop it, you gotta drop a guy into the slant area whichever side the field white lines up, have to set the edge to qb can’t pull ball and take off, and be stout in middle vs the running back. Think Wilcox can prob figure this out and total dropping like a rock so makes me think I’m on point here. Would like to see a cal rb number but no such luck right now. Cal has pretty good pass rush and Rebs offense like 120th in protecting the qb so leaning to Malik Williams under rush yards and white under rec yards.
 
so this other gm with wku/jmu a total shit show, wku has had a mass exodus to the portal with 27 kids enter in since the last game the year. But what’s really fucked up is it appears several the kids who now in the portal are gonna play including wku qb veltcamp, I have no freaking idea what kind of motivation a kid has who already declared he leaving but gonna play this game? Not sure I’ve heard much of this. It has jmu as 7 point favs but they down to their 3rd string qb! What a freaking mess!

What i feel like I can piece together here is wku was god awful stopping the run against less than great comp all year! One of their transfers who not gonna play is their best linebacker which can’t be good for a team allowing 5.1 ypc and almost 225 per game on the ground. Jmu having success rushing feels like the most sure thing in this game, the problem is jmu does a rb by committee thing so it one these sutuatuons I can’t stand where I play one running Back prop and he gets 3 carries while I watch some other guy go for 200 on the ground and I’m not even seeing more thzn 1-2 if jmu bscks with numbers posted. That scares me. I think pettaway is the most consistent of the jmu backs, he has gotten at least 12 carries in every game since week 5 and he often does for 6-7 per. Against this wku run d I gotta think he can go over 68.5 assuming he gets his touches.

The other play I’m looking at this wku qb under his passing yards. 1st off as I mentioned above he already in the portal so u really question his motivation leading up to this Game in preparation. Also think jmu will control the clock limiting possessions and they been fantastic getting pressure with the 11th best sack rate in country, again how motivated this kid gonna be he starts taking a bunch of hits he might be picking out other colleges at halftime! Jmu only allows 6.2 yards per pass and barely 200 a game. Dudes number is set at 234.5 so I’m either the biggest sucker ever or this feels like a slam dunk under, only concern for me is the down late and he chucking it but again I think jmu will eat clock plus If they know he throwing the pressure will be all in his face! Lastly this isn’t much of my cap but there is potential for rain and some wind. Not by any means the reason for play but can’t hurt!

So 2 plays for me in wku/jmu game

Pettaway ov 68.5 rushing
Veltcamp under 234.5 passing

Wow pettaway number shot up when I hit him. Got the 68.5 once but then had to play a number somewhere in mid-high 70s! Shit. He could go for over 100 easy here but jmu tends to use at least 3 backs and he usually only gets 12-15 touches a game. If you told me he get 20 carries u pound an alt number, maybe a 3rd sting qb all the backs get a few more touches!

Half. Played it straight at 67.5 I think, went to put in parlay and was up to 73,5. lol. I decided fuck it I know I ain’t moving lines so maybe somebody knows something he might get more carries tonight. I did an alt number ov 102 and a td. Combined that with the Rebs qb rush yards under and paid pretty fat!
 
So more unders than overs tonight w pettaway rushing being only over. Then the wku kid under passing, Rebs qb under rushing, smaller on Rebs white under receiving. Just feel like cal has to muck that game up and the Rebs -3 feels like a bet that finna be very popular. I dunno who wins, I’d still lean Rebs but I do think Wilcox will do a good job holding Williams rushing yards down, they havnt had many issues with running qbs plus they are gonna get sacks vs the Rebs kid who gets sacked a ton! I think that what will be the thing that keeps him under, I expect he prob escapes and hits few bigger runs, hopefully no more than 25! But I think he prob gets sacked at least 3-4 times that will cost him a good 40 yards.

It’s a really weird situation with him in the portal but playing. Doesn’t mean he will be aweful but I like jmu run game to control the pace, plus their pass d better than a lot he saw this year, plus jmu gets a lot of pressure so he be under duress. Long as jmu isn’t scoring on 60 yard runs all night and the pace gets crazy I think he struggles to get much over 200. Hope it works out, like I said I didn’t follow either these teams much so just did my best capping off the numbers. SOS, etc etc.

Wvu did cover the closing number tho. This one tonight is tough cause Rebs lost coach but cal doesn’t have a qb! I just hope it ugly and cal d can contain Rebs offense.

I could never get a number for cal players but I was def interested in ott. Biggest thing is hopefully they have someone at qb that can keep the chains moving but that right bout the area I was hoping to get ott. Not sure why bol not offering any cal numbers but that the one I wanted.
 
Pettaway seems like only number going crazy, he up to 78.5 now, pretty much everyone else same. I’d be all for him at anything less than 100 if wasn’t for the fact jmu uses so many damn backs. Hoping that number going up wat it is a sign he gonna get more the touches tonight.
