BMW Championship -- Including a Play of the Year candidate
Excellent week for the tour, brilliant marketing to have a Monday Finish (albeit BAR wasn't to keen on it). I'm a little irked that I didn't have a better week. +1.5 units This was the 3rd week in about 8 events where i picked the winner, unfortunately I had some tough breaks though which put me in the red during that period. :3_7_3v:
Now the field is cut down from 70 to 30. They head to Cog Hill in Chi Town where Trevor Immelman is the defending champion. Honestly, I like him a lot, he had a great tourney at the PGA and seemed to be pretty confident then put up a dud in New York. He is coming off a top 25 this past week though and seems to be rounding back into form. There will be no cut this week, so players will have to go 4 rounds. I noticed a trend in that if a player starts off cold, and knows they cant qualify for the next round they sort of lose motivation. This is definitely something to factor in.
Last years board was loaded with big names, and all types of players. Furyk has had a lot of success here, but his putting woes are starting to worry me. A sleeper might be Robert Allenby who has fallen into a bad funk, but looks to have found his game of late.
Will be back later with plays, more than likely by tomorrow afternoon. Gonna study the injury list, and wd's from the past events. It's important for me to have a winning last month (BMW, Tour Chip, and Presidents Cup) So I can have some extra money to bet footsies and to buy a new Callaway Driver. rayer
If Phil decides to skip this event it would be a huge blow to the tour and the commish :hang:
The past 2 weeks Precise and I are (2 - 1 when on the same play) A system that you should closely monitor.
