Bills Vs. Chiefs Discussion Thread

I think this can be simplificated

If KC cover, I think you need to rely on a JA interception. Seems the cheap way to play this one

Congrats to @DOUBLEUP4LIFE @Lexington 125 and all the Bills backers. Happy for them. I think they’ll beat KC.

Thank you Brother , we're in a state of euphoria right now .

Seeing my kids cherish watching BILLS games with my mother who is in the late stages of Alzheimer's is always priceless ..My mother usually passes out around 7pm , she stayed up for the whole game often screaming "LET'S GO BUFFALO " ...Doubt she makes it to next season, beating the Chiefs next week would mean everything to us as a family

We can never seem to bring Allen down when we get pressure.

Apparently stopping the run needs to be the #1 key. Denver and Baltimore were #1 and #2 in rushing D success rate and Bills ran all over them.

Allen was 16/22 for 127 yards. Some of that was weather, but interesting to see if that will work against the Chiefs.

Brady/McDermott seemingly copied an old ULTRA CONSERVATIVE LOU SABAN/Marv Levy strategy for this weather vs a top notch defense.
Very few passes in the first half and down field all game ..

FORCE the opposition into TURNOVERS !! Often teams that come to BUFFALO/OP try to do too much in cold wet/weather , and or simple fumble /drop/float passes etc ...

If the Ravens would have scored more points in the first half ,and not turned the ball over....OC Brady would have been far more aggressive with his play calling ...Allen purposely didn't force balls down the field that he normally would have

Just discovered that the Chiefs are one of just 3 team this season not to exceed 30 points in any game. The other two teams were New England & Las Vegas. Has nothing to do with capping this game as I wouldn't expect the winner to score more than 30 since I believe both teams will try to impose their will by running the ball but just found it interesting. Hard to wrap your head around the fact a Mahomes led offense hasn't had at least one game where everything clicked.

Yeah KC has transitioned to a ball control offense the last few years.

Books were slow last season and unders were gold (especially 2h).

Buffalo was playing keep away on Sunday in the 1h very well.

Look at last two games vs KC and Bills won T.O.P. 71:00-59:00 in those games.

Trenches so crucial here!

My issue was the 2h...

I've seen this all too much with McDermott...

Running the ball well enough, has a lead, and decides to pass in the 2h...

Bills first 9 plays in 2h involved 7 passes. Sure enough, 0 points and this is when Baltimore got back into it.

That's how it is in Detroit man. Good luck. May the gambling gods be in the Bills favor and most importantly the refs back pockets.

@B.A.R. Josh has been unreal in the playoffs Buffalo just couldn't stop anything in years past. The 13 second game he was unstoppable & last season in 2 games over 140 & 3 rushing tds.

If only Josh could play defense in those games lol ..He did everything humanly or alien possible to win those playoffs games vs KC ...Too bad the defense last year was butchered down to having a retired AJ Klein needing to be elite ....

This is our year brother ...

I wonder if Spags will continue bringing McDuffie on blitzes... it worked pretty well 1st game besides when Allen made an unreal throw to Cooper. I just think that the Bills O-line is playing at such a high level right now if they pick up the blitz it may lead to some big plays downfield. That's a key to the game because nobody dials them up better than Spags. Literally put the Texans in a blender- big difference in o-line talent between hous & Buf though. Allen capable of taking off way quicker than Stroud and Stroud ripped off a 28 yard run vs KC.

What gives me the most confidence about the Bills is that they are running the ball behind this line so well, especially on first down. How many 7-8 yard 1st down plays last week? They are nearly unstoppable in 3rd & short situations. I think the run game is even better than the first meeting & Houston was able to run the ball with Mixon much better than expected 4.9 ypc. I'm telling you if the Bills run game gets going and KC allows 4.9 they will be in trouble. A little concern for Dawkins injury but he's a dog. I think the Bills let James Cook early to see how the KC D reacts.

Defensively I'm just going to assume Rapp is out- That means more time on the field for Cole Bishop. You can't tell me Reid isn't going to find a way to attack him. Pat will need time in the pocket for that so for me it comes down to whether or not Buffalo can get pressure with just the front four. They'll have a spy to keep Pat from taking off but there must be pressure or he'll find an open man. Rousseau & Von Miller have been winning consistently in the playoffs and Daquan was owning last week. A similar performance to last week would be amazing. Biggest concern for me in the whole game is Benford status. I think he doesn't clear protocol it puts the Bills in a severe disadvantage in the passing game. Milano a big concern as well but really to me in this matchup Benford is HUGE.

Total set so high for a chiefs game for a reason. I have seen a bunch of people talking about how KC hasn't scored 30 all season. I assure you they can if the Bills D doesn't come in hot & win LOS. Heavy lean over IDC how good both defenses play these are two top tier QBs & I think both will be able to find big plays. Comes down to who can score TDs in the rz & maybe a defensive splash play or two. No way I'd play an under but I hate unders

facts. Even if Rapp/Benford are both out the D is better than last season. Benford gotta clear!!!!

I played Bills to win SB @+1600 before the season started. First SB future I have ever played there will be no hedge!

The Bills played 4 playoff teams on the road in the regular season. The Bills gave up 35 to Baltimore in week 4, 23 to the Texans in week 5, 44 to the Rams in week 14, and 42 to the Lions in week 15. This is for an average of 36 points!!! The Bills also gave up over 400 yards to the Ravens last week. It was the turnovers that killed the Ravens.

I know the Chiefs are not explosive and their offense is not the Lions or Ravens, but they are better than probably the Rams and most definitely the Texans. The Chiefs will score at least 27 to 30 points based on comparison. Andy Reid is the best coach in football. He will definitely game plan on the success of these other teams.

Chiefs are a top 5 defense in almost every category. I do believe Josh Allen is the MVP, and I love the revenge factor for the Bills. Yet, it is the Chiefs and I just don't think the Bills defense is good enough to stop Mahomes in the 4th quarter.

I see a close game, but Chiefs pulling out the victory in the end like they always do. The only chance I see is if the Bills hold the Chiefs to field goals instead of TD's, because the Chiefs will move the ball. Bills defense is average at best.

Chiefs win, baby!

Please keep in mind those earlier bills games vs Texans and ravens featured a bills defense that was decimated....

Bills didn't lose the turnover battle in one game this season , finishing +24 in the regular season

Not saying the Chiefs can't win , they're more than capable

Best of luck brother

  • The Bills' eight turnovers in 2024 gave them a +24 turnover margin, which was the best in the NFL since 2012.
  • The Bills also set other records in 2024, including:
    • Most points scored in a season (525)
    • Most touchdowns scored in a season (65)
    • Most rushing touchdowns scored in a season (32)
    • Most fourth-down conversions in a season (16)

The Chiefs were dominated by the Texans in most statistical categories.

First, the Bills gave up 42 and 48 on the road in week 14 and 15. This is towards the end of the season. Sounds like Rapp and Benford may not play, and Milano has a hamstring issue. Doesn't this put the Bills back into the same defense as week 4 or earlier without these guys?

Lastly, guess who was 4th best in the NFL in "give-aways" or turning the ball over? The Chiefs. They only turned the ball over 14 times in 17 regular season games. Guess how many times the Chiefs turned the ball over last week against a very good Texan defense? Zero.

To hope or count on the Bills to win the turnover battle when the Chiefs turn the ball over less than 1 time a game over 18 games is a stretch if you ask me. Both teams protect the football.

I'm not betting yet. I'm just sharing my research. Yet, history and the facts have me leaning towards the Chiefs once again.

Since week 11 the Bills defense is ranked 29th in EPA per drop back. There are only 32 teams. Mahomes will move the chains at will. The only thing that scares me is Josh Allen. I think he is the best player in the NFL.

Circa is getting 37% of the bets on Chiefs, but 60% of the money.
