BIG Week 13...

Sorry for the late start...

Going to add to this over next 90 mins or so...

Disappointing season for the 3 time defending champs of the conference -- bit more and more it looks like this could be a blessing in disguise to move the program into the the NIL era. Big off-season coming for coaching changes and portal play. BIG.

This Saturday they are DD favs vs the Wildcats in A2. This is a must win, because those extra December practices are vital before the music city bowl (lol).

The defense played really good at Indiana. That was refreshing.

No Will Johnson most likely. He wants to be back vs OSU. Shall see. Needs some tape IMO.

Feels like a 24-10, 27-13 affair here.

A part of me thinks you'll see some more creative offense this week. Big recruiting weekend and winning those one with manball isn't the recipe (from reading the tea leaves).

Sparty has had an interesting season...

Started out with the 3 wins...

That prompted some dreaming (September Heisman as well)

Alas, Oregon and Ohio State pummeled the Spartans.

A nice win vs Iowa and a really good 1st half vs UM seemed to have the ship righted...

Unfortunately, Indiana and Illinois have destroyed them the past few games scoreboard wise. The Illinois game had a competitive boxscore though. Aaron "Golden" Chiles had a rare turnover-free game but they gave up a lot of 2h points.

Anyways, the present is here -- and that's the fact they need to win the last two to make a bowl game.

Enter Purdue this week. A must win, but you never know in Big Ten play. Next week, Rutgers comes to town for the annual "Situation Trophy". Huge rivalry game. I believe Mike Sorrentino will be on hand for the coin toss!

All in all, Coach Smith with a solid job inheriting a mess and having them in this position. My guess was 4-6 wins this year and here we are. Bowl game would be huge for the program.

Wisconsin and Nebraska is a game between two 5-5 teams.

Big game, big rivalry.

Heartbreak for the Badgers last week.

Similar for Nebraska who somehow between bad officiating and somewhat questionable time management late never had a real shot at tying the game.

Gun to head, Nebraska here at home. Similar teams, should be a slow ugly pace. I'd say under, but man that # is tight. Maybe a 1Q under is in play?

So wait a minute. Did this new mangled B1G rob us of the Land Grant game between Sparty and Penn St? They always played last game of the year.

Aside from the huge game in Columbus...

Penn State and Minnesota is intriguing to me!

Minnesota is a solid team this year year. The early struggles seemed to fade away with the 2h at Michigan. They went on a run after that until the loss at Rutgers.

Dangerous spot here for Penn State.

November road game as DD favs vs a bowl team off a bye week.

Before diving into matchups more, I lean the points BIG TIME!

It will be back next year.

Skip again.

Then the next two years.

Generally, that's the last game.

A few of the years though Rutgers moved into that last week spot. I'm not sure why?

MSU has one protected rival.

Michigan has two.

Penn State has none.

Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota I believe protect each other?

Hence the unbalanced schedules.

Holgorson looks to be a net positive so far. Would expect at least some marginal improvement from the offense. But we'll still probably find a way to fuck up both of these last two.

The Ohio State transfer center from Bama is OUT for the year.

Meant to mention that earlier.

I didn't comment on that game yet because @VirginiaCavs write up thread seems to be generating the discussion so far!
