Alright ladies and gentlemen,

We're only 4 weekends away from the conclusion of the regular season! Sad? Yes. But at the same point we have a great November coming up. Time to grind through this month and make some money!

Really quick look back at last week...

Injuries are a theme for many of these schools right now, and Nebraska/Michigan are both without their best offensive player for the rest of the season. That hurts.

Tough loss for the Huskers after that injury.

The Haynes injury occurred the week before, but they announced the surgery yesterday. Some of the team writers say he might return this year, but I doubt it. Thanks for a helluva half season and good luck in the NFL!!

Michigan was in a no-win spot versus Purdue. Playing a bad team, right before a bye week, and after Sparty is the ultimate sleepy spot. They almost messed around and found out. With that being said, a few long throws should have been caught, and Bryce had his first 2-turnover game -- both going into the score. This should have been a 35-14 final. It is what it is. Perfect time for a bye week as the injuries continue to mount. Jordan Marshall needs to stay upright.

A few things to remember with Michigan...

1. Youngest team in the conference
2. A lot of young kids/frosh playing significant minutes
3. Injuries galore to important positions.
4. Underwood hit a wall, and this break is perfect for him. Teaching moments forthcoming.

With that being said, a few assistants need to be fired this off-season. Moore passed the test of letting a bad coach go last season, and he must continue to overhaul his staff. Jay Harbaugh was so valuable to this program as ST coach. These last two years on ST, sans place-kicking, have been frightening. I'm not sure what the Semaj Morgan family has over this staff to let him keep returning punts, but this is quite the mystery.

Speaking of coaches, Nebraska did extend Rhule last week. Indy and Nebby both extending their coaches at least takes away some of the uncertainty during what will be a wild coaching cycle!

Penn State held tough for a half at the Shoe. The late fumble recovery helped their cause. There was only a matter of time before Ohio State ran away with that one, though. We shall see if they can play with pride and produce enough wins for a bowl game. The Ohio State question will continue to be running the ball and facing that first true test in Indianapolis.

Rutgers is horrible. That is all.

Indiana has no let-up. I appreciate that since I made that 'unbeaten' bet last week. They doubled up Maryland and amassed nearly 600 yards of offense. What can we complain about with this team? Not much. I love that they have improved since being dogged all of the winter after the playoff loss. I'll learn to hate them next year!

Michigan State started the "right" QB this past week @cubsker and he played a very nice 2h, despite a lot of pressure. The much-maligned Sparty defense has actually had some moments the past few weeks. Now, I was commuting from when Sparty took the lead in the 4th until the end of OT. Per the MSU faithful, the refs were atrocious at the end and into overtime. Does that check out? Sparty with 467 yards of offense -- over 300 from QB1.

Per a few sources around here -- Chiles is on the way to the portal and let the staff know. We'll see if that rumor has any substance.

OKAY, ONTO THIS WEEK!!

Quick turnaround for Northwestern and USC with a Friday night affair at The Coliseum. Maiavia needs to shake off last week and get back into form if the Trojans want to sneak into this playoff. The Trojans finish with 3 of 4 at home, but that one road game is in Eugene!

We thought this Noon game in Happy Valley would have huge implications. No need to lament how things have gone, but the Hoosiers need to keep their eye on the prize and take care of business here. PSU has talent still, and letting them hang around is a recipe for something to happen. This is where having a great coach is so key.

Ohio State heads into West Lafayette as nearly 30-point favorites! Goodness. Stay healthy here and continue to work on the running game. This is a perfect game to gain some confidence on the ground.

A random 2:00 start for Maryland and Rutgers. This game is a conundrum between the Maryland late-season fade and that awful Rutgers defense. Oh, what to do...

Oregon at Iowa is the game of the day in this conference. This is a classic home underdog spot in a low total game. How do we cap the Oregon offense? I think looking at the PSU and Indiana games, and somewhat a blend of those, is a good start. The Ducks need to stop the run and play clean on offense. That happens, they'll continue their march to the playoffs.

We have a 9 pm start out in Pasadena, which gives some degenerate 2h action later on a Saturday night! Time to re-evaluate Nebraska sans Dominic.

Washington heads back across the Mississippi to face the Badgers. Wisconsin actually looked okay out at Oregon. Did that stave off the firing by a week or two? The Badgers DL will fare well versus Coleman and the other RB's. The cap here for me is the passing game and what sort of time Washington gives Demond. Thankfully, this is a 4:30 start.

Not a lot of leans for me at the start. Time to look at...

Totals vs Rutgers...

Purdue TT unders situationally ...

Oregon and Iowa...

Washington TT?

In the B1G, won with IU 1H (and the alt), lost on PSU TT under (slightly unlucky with late 1H TO) and pushed on Gophers (fortunate). OSU 3Qs remain nails.

Few thoughts:
- Son of a good friend of mine goes to IU, so he's all of a sudden watching a lot of Hoosier football (great timing). Anyway, watching the games, he often jokes that Cig is a psychopath and I'm not sure he's that far off. The guy is beyond intense. Injuries could derail any team but it's crazy that Indiana has a really successful system just two years removed from Tom Allen. If Cignetti has his pieces, his team will be a force. As an OSU fan, it's sorta scary but it's also why CFB is the best show on tv. PRs say Penn State this week but I think IU has become a team I just never want to fade. Life is too short to spend the 4th quarter watching a psychopath finish you off.

- OSU's D remains elite. Not that it should matter but Downs should be missing the 1H at Purdue. Agree on the running game work which will lend itself to under and you're right Boiler TT unders.

- Bummer for Nebraska on the Raiola injury. The board already has a Husker expert so @cubsker would have better thoughts, but I'd expect them to look a lot better on O this week with time to gameplan things that work with Lateef vs UCLA. Don't see how I get involved in that one but lean Huskers.

- Oregon/Iowa, can't wait to watch but don't think I play it pregame. My numbers like Oregon and under. Eyeballs say Iowa played IU tight while Hoosiers thumped Ducks in Eugene, so could argue most comparable opponent says Iowa should give them a game in Kinnick. I think I see a decent path to the over (and it's so low).

- I want to talk myself into Terps/Rutgers over because this Rutgers D won't be around forever, but not there yet.

- Wisconsin defense has not quit, but their O is like 2024 Purdue level. Lean under.

AS far as cignetti, he didnt build the team at Indiana (not a slight at all) or become a coachin sensation at Indiana. The man can coach but everyone disregards the fact that he brought the ENTIRE JMU team (undefeated) with him. Indiana mega-smart to extend his contract into eternity.

Absolutely, but he built that team at JMU. Bigger point being, he's not a fluke - he's already built something that looks sustainable on an annual basis in 2 years in Bloomington. That's insane.

Hot Take…IF Nebraska finishes strong (massive IF), Rhule could still go to PSU. I don’t think that extension will stop it from happening, if PSU wants him. I still think Brady is the best fit, though.
