He probably was offside here, but this angle isn't the one to conclusively be able to tell, that's not straight on at all. Not faulting you pyppurs (you didn't take the picture of course), I'd just like to see it from an angle that is straight down the line is all.

well they have cameras at specific positions in the stadium. But if you take the ilne from the 18yd box and put it on the last defender, then McCarthy is off.

Yeah, I know not much you can do based on where the cameras are. Again, pretty sure he's offside, but his back leg may not be fully past the defenders if we're looking straight on. How many times have we seen in a football game where the ball looks like it crossed the goal line from an angle like that, only to see a straight shot down the goal line that shows the ball didn't cross? It's an optical illusion (or can be one since I think he was offside). Would just like to have seen it from a better angle.
