There’s nothing in sports that even compares to the awesomeness of playoff hockey in person. That second when a goal is scored by the home team is easily the most enjoyable, exciting, amazing moment you can have at a live sporting event. The entire crowd rises in unison screaming their heads off, the goal horn blares…it’s just unreal.
The loudest I’ve ever heard a building was during a penalty shot against Dominik Hasek by the Flyers here in Buffalo. It was probably 2001 or 2002. It was so loud you literally couldn’t hear the person standing next to you if you tried…and then Hasek made the save and it somehow got louder. What a moment that was.
