AFC Wild Card Discussion

Pitt could cover but can’t win. When they played the Browns a month ago those were both 3/4 win teams. One just luck boxed their way to 10.

I do not trust Denver at all against a top-tiered offense. Bengals put up 500 yards, Ravens dropped 41. Chargers put up 20 in first half then coasted to victory. Mobile QBs have done well, too, besides just Lamar. Colts led by AR outgained them by about 310-180 yards but that stupid Jonathan Taylor fumbled totally set them back.

Buffalo should score well.

Worries me for sure. But the Steelers are a bad team. Balty will win that one and get smoked in Buffalo.
I recall their divisional game vs Houston when it was 10-10 at half. Lamar didn’t run at all and struggled mightily in the 1st half. He finally started running in the 2nd half while Houston melted down.
Not sure if this was mentioned but head to head Pittsburgh has won last 8 of 10. Baltimore won the last game but Pittsburgh won the previous 4. Line seems too steep. GL!

Can’t argue with Balt ML parlays but I would NOT lay the points. In fact, I will most likely be on Pitt ATS (and definitely 1H). No homerism here and I have no delusions of them making a playoff run (I actually have a large preseason wager on Balt to win the SB). But I do have friends high in the organization and they sound very confident and you can expect to see a very motivated team. Motivation can only get you so far when the other team has more talent, but I would expect a close game.

I respect people's opinions, but I believe taking the Texans and the points is the side. I think Mixon will have success, and the Texan defense will get after the Chargers. Stroud has struggled against man to man, but no team plays more zone than the Chargers.

Even better, I believe the under to be golden. This will be a defensive battle all day. Both teams will be committed in trying to run the ball. I see a field goal type of game.

You may well be right. That's what we are here for.

Agree this game smells like an under.

Ravens TT at 28.5 now. Love this under. Just look at the history between these two teams. Sure, ravens scored 34 last time vs Pitt, but it took a fourth quarter pick-6 and Zay had a big game. Now no Zay and playoff Lamar in effect…. i’d be shocked if they scored more than 28 points here.

Lamar has something to prove here. I think 30+ incoming.

Driving in this AM heard a crazy stat about wildcard favorites laying 8 (maybe it was 9) or more and their pretty incredible ATS record. Didn't catch the exact # but obviously applies a couple times this weekend.

Speaking of the Texans, this is a CRAZY fact (just verified too)…since 2012 when they first made the playoffs as the Texans, every single WC game of theirs has been the 4:30 Saturday time slot.

That’s just amazing to me. Seems like they’re never *interesting* enough to get a prime time game, but it’s just wild to me they have always been in that time slot.

Yup.

The years they aren't in playoff this has been reserved for Cincy quite often.

So there’s massive lopsided action on the Chargers but the line has not even budged aside from some juice…….

I feel like I’m missing something in this game. To me this screams a Chargers win. I nearly unloaded a top unit bet earlier in the week at -2.5. I still haven’t pulled the trigger.

I feel like Derwin James wrecks the Houston game plan today.

Ryan’s had the Texans dialed in last year same week vs a way better defense in Cleveland. Chargers are a better team though overall.

Lamar appears to be playing with a massive chip in his shoulder ..But I hope you're rightb

The one year I think we had Oakland Raiders with a 3rd string starter (an AWFUL one, Connor Cook) at Houston at 430 was nauseating.

I’ve never seen a top tier QB MVP candidate be such a poor passer of the football. His struggles in the postseason comes from when the calls are too pass oriented. Hard to trust this guy.
I believe you are incorrect on all accounts here. Dude is one of the best passing QBs in history and was the best CFB passer at Louisville for two years. I don't know what you're watching.

You probably don’t understand throwing mechanics.

Seems like I recall Jackson entering the playoffs with a chip on his shoulder at this exact time last year as he'd already begun to draw blanks with his playoff performance(s).

Obviously a great player. But true greatness only occurs when performing best when the lights are brightest. Seems like a good guy. Hopefully he'll get over the hump in these playoffs.

if pit would have beaten cincinnati, they would have played in houston this week. they had 10 days to get ready for cincy. my tinfoil hat theory is they nerfed the cincinnatti game and chose ravens over texans. again,  tinfoil. tinfoil hat theory.

If he’s watching the playoffs he’s watching the worst playoff QB of all time. At some point that narrative has to change.
