2025 Rule Changes Discussion

Sounds like an ANONYMOUS team wants to ban the Tush Push. Obviously, I’m a fan of the play, but what do others think? I guess I’d probably be annoyed by it if I wasn’t an Eagles fan, but BAN it? Cmon. Other teams have tried running it with varied levels of success. Eagles have just mastered it. I think banning plays because they are “unstoppable” is pretty fucking lame and a slippery slope. What do you all think?

Also. Guesses in the bitch team suggesting this as “anonymous?” I say Washington or KC….

I posted the anonymous team in the OP

For a LONG time it WAS a penalty to actually assist a runner through pushing, pulling or physically carrying them forward. It was only in the last 20 years that the NFL eliminated the penalty for pushing, although pulling or carrying remains a penalty. Why they changed it, I don't know.

I think they need to go back to it being a penalty. The concept has been bastardized. Not only that, but it results in a bigger injury threat to linemen on both sides of the ball. It's one thing to get pancake blocked or even double teamed. It's quite another to be plowed under by four or five guys. Back and neck issues like we saw with Jones in the SB will continue to become more commonplace. For a league claiming err on the side of player safety, the Tush Push is a blind spot.

Agree , I don't like the runner being assisted at all ...Kind of crazy for me to say considering Allen and our backs get all kinds of extra yards through the assist ..LT Dawkins has to be the best at assisting the ball carrier 8+ yards down field .

Old school they would have taken the penalty and slammed the QB on his head after the rush push imo

Talking about the tush push posing a safety risk is so inane and asinine. It‘s football lmao, pretty sure there are a lot more plays that are more dangerous

They act like they're so concerned about health of players but keep adding games

Kickoff touchbacks are moving out to the 35 this season ...Why not just make the field 50 yards to get all the points the league craving on the board ... Eventually scores will look like a college basketball game

I think I heard one change they may vote on is making illegal contact and holding penalties on defense not automatic 1st downs. So a 3rd and 19 would end up being 3rd and 14 or 3rd and 9 instead of 1st and 10.
