2025 QB discussion

Massey has 42.5, total 57.5

Last year Illinois was up 31-0 HT on Eastern Illinois and just cruised in the 2H for a 45-0 Final (486-196 ttl yard edge).

As you mention, Indiana was up 42-3 HT last year on Western and did not mail it in 2H for a 77-3 Final (701-121 ttl yard edge).

Western is breaking in several new players including their QB who might be a Dll guy seeing his first action at Dl or last year's little used back-up. Coach for Western Illinois might end up making them halfway decent in the league they are in now. Conference media days picked them 5th out of 9 teams. They had some of the best offensive numbers among league peers last year, but like I said the QB is gone and I don't think what they are working with now is as good as he was.
Yeah, saw they picked up 22 new players including that qb and receiver from Walsh U.

Might be a 1H opportunity on ILL vs WILL. Or see what kind of history Bielema has in the 2H in games like this in terms of how he handles who plays and style.

I'm not convinced that he's that great. BYU had the stars align and a golden horseshoe up their ass last year.

I have no clue who Tulane's QB was projected to be but he's probably an upgrade though.
The dude from Ball State was slated to start I’d bet.
On paper it’s a pretty good upgrade.

Any thoughts fellas on Ty Simpson at Bama and Gunnar Stockton in Athens?

Not sure how UGA pulled this off, but they only have 3 true road games 😳😳 At Tenn, Auburn, and Miss st. WTF, that’s ridiculous.

As much as I think Allar is a joke I'd take Sellers over any QB in the country. Still a little green but I think he's going to be end up being big on Sundays. Just so much talent and sounds like such a solid / grounded kid. Brutal schedule this season so we are going to see what he's made of but I was just so impressed with him in '24.

Pennsylvania St QBs are incredible joke pieces as they age

Personally I don't believe in either of them and was shocked to learn that Simpson was once a 5 star recruit. I thought the Deboer hire was fantastic at the time but I'm even starting to question that (could be me still being bitter about how many live bets I lost on them in that Vanderbilt game). Hopefully for them it was just the pressure of replacing Saban and things will come together but that was not a good season.

I'm really surprised that Alabama and Georgia didn't go out and buy the best QBs available but maybe they just believe in their guys.

Our guy allegedly turned down 8 figures to stay at ISU due to loyalty. I'm sure that his dad's JETS pension helped out.

I’m in the same boat wondering why…Guessing I’ve underrated them both. Bama’s WR’s are tits and will help the cause for Simpson. I’m puzzled though why these guys are in the lower tier of the conference.

Sellers for Heisman

Best thing for CFB would be non SEC winning 3-4 years in a row

It's become nothing but a footnote at this point. Outside of OSU and Mich, it's really boring on a national level

Just get it over with

Between his father and how many Iowa State guys the Jets have been drafting its pretty much a sure thing that Rocco will one day be playing for the Jets and if thats the case I feel bad for him already.

Like every other snowbird we've all moved to the South. I'm a Texans fan now

I'm pretty optimistic on Ty this year. I think there's enough around him that he doesn't have to be Superman. Get the ball to the playmakers and don't take back-breaking negative plays like Milroe was prone to do. Getting Grubb back as OC and play-caller will be a huge help too. I think Sheridan did some good things last season, but maybe his inexperience and the kids gloves they used with the team last year yielded the results we saw. And if Ty doesn't work out, I think Keelon Russell is going to be really good

Not to mention a really good oline helps.

No I actually have a bet on this with someone who stupidly trusts me to self report. I lose if I put the game on myself or keep it on longer than 30 seconds if its put on by mistake. This is a great test of my willpower and I plan on coming out ahead.

What a dumb idiot friend you have. Must be for under 20 bucks....at least I would hope so.
