2025 Free Agency Thread...

Never ever trust east coast time. You're halfway to Europe and nil/nil draws

4 time pro-bowler Ragnow retiring leaves a 2nd round rookie as the Lions new center. Ragnow only lasted 7 years in the league, wow.
Disappointing but understandable with the injuries.

He had told fans months ago he was coming back -- but things happen.

I'm assuming he let the lions know ahead of time , hence the draft.

Bills sign Shaq Thompson

Go figure another Panther follows McDermott to Buffalo ...
Wonder if they'll sign Greg Olson or Rae Carruth next 😏🙃

Dallas cowboys signed a few quality old vets for the defense. I think early season it will make them better. I think thumbs up season for the boy. No im not an Americas team fan boy. Just an observation that the NFC east will have more parody.

thumbs down on the Commanders after A bad win season in 2023 they took advantage of their schedule in 2024. I can try to discredit their post season but others may have issues with my findings. I’ll skip the noise on that.

The data I searched about the Comnander are now an elevated schedule this season and the other NFC East teams are much improved, Philly excluded.

Giants acquired Russ at QB I can’t deny he isn’t trendy anymore. I don’t watch Steelers games to know everything, but the stats say still keeps the ball doesn’t make too many picks.

The Steelers made 10 wins and made the playoffs last year. If he was terrible that wouldn’t happen. Make all the points about Russ you want but take a look at the Giants 2024 QB room and compare to now.

Lastly about Russ is Nabers. Will his stats improve with Russ? I think significantly. I predict , The Giants will run the ball better make more first downs and be much more unpredictable on offense. Do all that and that provides Nabers to get more space. It provides the defense to actually sit down a while. Russ will do a better job and improve upon the 2024 Giants offense no question.

I like the Giants in away games as dogs when the lines adjust higher. Wins wise I really don’t care too much but they can beat the Commanders week 1 surly +6 or more is +EV in my opinion.

The 49ers.

There are so many examples of good teams that draft a lower round QB and yet still have a great year. To give examples the 49ers with Purdy and the Seahawks with Russell Wilson back 10 years ago or do. The good teams that have a history of winning do this. It frees up cap space and these teams that are willing to step up with deep pockets go to Superbowls.

Well there is a backlash to this. The excellence from this causes big contracts and this creates player loss and depth issues

In my opinion that’s where the 49ers are this season. They lost so older guys that had experience and big time impacts on the performance.

The big issue here is perception after signing Purdy everything looks like it will remain at a high level but looking at what the 49ers accomplished since the superbowl is trending poorly against the favorues lines they are now facing.

Home favorites last 12 4-8 straight up and 3-9 ats in those games.

The loss of stud WR Debo can hide some of Purdys weaknesses and he is gone. Jennings had a decent season last year after Aiyuk went down, now it looks like he is #1 ? They did draft a WR in the 4th round from ole Miss. Jordan Watkins. I’m not a 49ers guru so if someone is or has issues with my thinking that’s fine. As I see it now from my searches in personnel and spread data this looks like possible fade material.

If anyone has objections or further observations that would be cool too. I’m looking for regression and progression teams.

Rodgers last 6 full seasons he's thrown to the TE about 18% of the time. Arthur's last 6 years coaching his offenses have thrown to the TE about 25% of the time. Someone is going to have to change.....
