We will change it up a bit from years past and do what we did for The Players and use a modified scoring system.

We will be using a Modified Stableford Scoring System for this contest.

Here is what you will do:

Pick 6 golfers and arrange them in order of your preference (in case of ties)

At the end of the tournament, we will use the top 4 scores you have of your 6 golfers for the week. This is whether they make the cut(s) or not. I do not know if that will come into play but it will make things interesting along the way.

The total points of your best 4 golfers for the week will be added together for your final score.

Here is the scoring system:

* Eagle: 5 points
* Birdie: 3 points
* Par: 1 points
* Bogey: -2 point
* Double Bogey: -3 points
* Triple Bogey or worse: -4 points

I changed to the system a bit since it is the US Open and we have a traditional course that will emphasize 'Par'. We'll reward pars here but I know the blow-ups will be worse than most tournaments so we will use multiple forms of bogey.

Example Entry

1. Brooks Koepka
2. Dustin Johnson
3. Matt Kuchar
4. Patrick Reed
5. Phil Mickelson
6. Tommy Fleetwood

Tiebreaker #1 = Total score in relation to par (i.e. E) * of the 2018 US Open Champion
Tiebreaker #2 = Lowest round of the tournament (i.e 67) *lowest individual round

Strategy:

This will be a fun test because you will need to mix your team with some solid guys, some guys you know will make the cut and also a guy or two who could help with lotsa birdies and eagles.

I hope this works out in a fun way. We'll give it a try!

Please include your tiebreakers before the tourney starts.

OOPS!!! missed that. IS TB #1 based on the total score of the 6 golfers selected? IS TB #2 the lowest of ALL players OR just the 6 selected ???

Tiebreaker #1 = Total score in relation to par [-8]
Tiebreaker #2 = Lowest round of the tournament [65]

I'll edit that Rat but it's the winning score of tourney...and the 2nd is the best round of the tournament.

in that case I think I will adjust my picks, B.A.R:shake:

the three "modern" US Opens winners at Shinnecock Hills are
1986 Raymond Floyd [-1]
1995 Corey Pavin [even]
2004 Retief Goosen [-4]

Tiebreaker #1 = Total score in relation to par [-5]
Tiebreaker #2 = Lowest round of the tournament [-5]

These players need to work on their games. You can see how tougher courses from a skill perspective rather than a length perspective change the leaderboard.

Should be an interesting last day +

Few names creeping back into it.

Around 30 % off our contestants had 3 players miss the cut.
