Tell me about it. Hamels and Howard could come in the deal with Phillies picking up their entire salaries and I still would be annoyed. Nothing good comes from that shit hole of a city.
The San Diego Padres agreed to terms with Shields late Sunday on a four-year deal worth between $72 million and $76 million, according toSB Nation's Chris Cotillo.
No problem. Really hoping 5Dimes drops more lines this year. It seems that they do it more and more. A ton of money can be made on Saturday and Sunday of the NCAA regionals when teams are having to play back to back games. 5Dimes throws up quick lines and I don't think they know who the pitchers are. Twitter is a great source of info for pitching matchups and a lot of times you can get a solid edge, albeit for small max bets. I love throwing some open parlays together on this stuff as well as SU bets
Should've changed his name to "Giancarlo" instead...
Atlanta Braves centerfielder B.J. Upton will now go by Melvin Upton Jr., reports Dave O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He will also wear "Upton Jr." on the back of his jersey for the first time, instead of just "Upton."
Upton's full name is Melvin Emmanuel Upton. He went by the nickname "B.J." in reference to his father, Manny Upton, who was known as "Bossman Junior."
Braves officials said Upton would answer questions about the name change when he reports for spring training in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Low risk, high reward (potentially) for the Jays. Those veteran left handers seem more capable of sticking around and contributing than their right handed counterparts. Only real concern would be velocity in a hitter's ballpark, but he's savvy enough to adapt I'm guessing.
