2015 CTG-1 Fantasy Bases League - NEED AT LEAST ONE MORE TEAM!

(Can someone sticky this?)

Happy March!

Have sent out invites to all the teams that were in this league last year to the email addresses listed on yahoo.

I have tentatively set the draft date and time for Tuesday night, March 31, 9:30 pm EST. Let me know if that time doesn't work, we can try to settle on one that works for everyone.

Here's who was in list year, confirm in this thread if you're back, I'll keep track in this post. And remember to also join the league on yahoo in response to the email you should have received. (And let me know if you don't want to be in this year so we can find a replacement.) I've marked you as "in" if you have already confirmed in the 2014 thread.

12-team, weekly HTH, top six make the playoffs. $100 buy-in, 1st place = $600, 2nd place = $300, 3rd place = $100, regular season 1st place = $200. Here are the current settings, same as last year. Feel free to discuss any changes. I like it as is.

Will randomly generate a draft order using yahoo's draft order generator (wreck's favorite moment of the year) when we get closer to the draft date.
 
Assuming Smoke will handle the leaguesafe business as usual.

Ivy let me know he won't be in the league this year, so we need at least one new participant. 10 of 12 from last season have signed up on yahoo. Haven't heard from coverlicious, but I don't think he's on here too often, so I'll try to track him down over the next few days before opening up his spot.

Anyway, if interested, come aboard! It's a good league.

Can we increase the IP minimum to like 20 IP or something? 9 is like nothing. I don't remember it being that low last year. Of course, I was a lot smarter last year though.
 
Draft is a week from tonight. Smokey, we might as well start asking people to pay leaguesafe, you got that covered?

Will probably be 10 teams this year, have some invites out in hopes of 12. Will do the draft order once we close the door on 10 or 12, next few days.

al gorg messaged the yahoo team page and said he's still in. So we have 11. In that case I'll drop out to make a league of 10.

I will stay in if we can get to 12.
 
I think gorg staying in leaves us at 10, unless you know something I don't …? ivy and coverlicious/marmolade are out, I just haven't gotten around to removing the teams on yahoo. Play2Win had expressed some interest last night, but nothing official.

Will try to tidy this up today, have kind of slacked on it, and I think smoke's out of town so hasn't done the leaguesafe thing yet.

If it's 10 (or 12), you still want in, right wreck?

But I've always successfully abused that. Get a Monday gem, shut it down, leave your relievers in and win three categories.

Will do, it wasn't discussed, but 9 is low, so I doubt anyone other than I will miss it. What do most leagues have? This is the only HTH league I've been in in quite a while, not sure what the norm is.

I'm cool with that too. That's the leader in the clubhouse, we'll call it that barring strenuous opposition.
 
Smoke just e-mailed me a good point. With ten teams total, I don't think we need a six-team playoffs anymore, right? What are we, the NBA? Going to cut that down to four.
 
Regular season champ should get more or at least equal to what 2nd place gets.....winning the league after 20 some grueling weeks should be rewarded more than winning 1 or 2 playoff matchups imo.


3rd place should get nothing.

If there is 4 teams that means no bye which mean regular season champ definitely needs more cake.

I'm a huge fan of winner-take-all $1000. Regular season champ prize enthusiasts already have a format called roto. HTH is a merciless bitch.

If we're reducing the number of playoff teams to four, and we should, I've warmed up to Smoke's beer money prize of 50 bucks for the consolation game winner.

Don't like reducing teams, and increasing regular season. I like the importance of the playoffs, that's the cruel spirit of head-to-head.

The 3rd place "winner" will have lost a playoff game then gets a $50 free roll? I say naaaaaaah.

We don't have enough time before the draft or season to formally "vote". wreck's suggestion is the closest approximation to last year without decreasing the champ share, basically chops a little off everything else. let's roll with that and table the discussion (and any other discussions) for next season. Remind me.

Everyone OK with that? And by everyone, I mean the two or three people who might comment? Do that smoke, unless anyone gripes loudly, and we'll keep prize allotments as they were.
 
League safe should be live.

invites went out. As always, check your junk mail if you don't see it and I sent it the emails used last year
 
Paid, making that 3 of 10 on LS. Not really worried since the invite got sent out late and everyone here has been stand-up in the past. Deadline is April 15.
