2013 Masters

Fairway to Heaven
Might as well get this thread started now. First off, have any of you degenerates been to the hallow grounds before?

Anyway, pretty interesting event. No one is really peaking or playing that well coming in, besides Tiger. It's nice to see Rory showing some signs of life, but he still looks a little off. Bubba has had a quietly steady year so far and his flat stick gets going, ya never know. I think Padraig is quietly showing signs, and Justin Rose could also be a contender. I think at least from a matchup perspective there are a few plays that I can't wait to put in.

I have not, however would like to. Read yesterday they close down from May- September/October (couldn't remember exact dates)

I put in for the lottery next year...

i thought 1k for winter classic tickets was nuts...

I got to walk when my friend qualiied for US amatuers, but never for masters weekend... bucket list... when Im rich

$7K would have to include lunch with Jack, dinner with Tiger, beers with John Daly, after hours with David Toms' wife.

Put 135 to win 100 on Tom Watson over Craig Stadler. Think both miss the cut, Tom will likely shoot 152, Im thinking 155 for the Walrus.

Winner to be from the USA @ -120

Hole in One at the 16th +162
First hole in one will occur in Rd4 +200

The winner will come from the final group on Sunday -225

like Day from this group

I'm heading over tonight for tomorrow's practice round. Will be my first time so pretty excited. I think Phil will play well. He played well in Houston, and he's rarely out of contention here

Couple possibilities, with recent Masters history:

Mahan, 40-1, two top 10s and a top 12 in the past four years. Coach says his baby draw is perfect here.

Westwood, 25-1, has 2nd, T-3 two of the past three years, T-11 in 2011.

Form not necessarily greatest at moment, but experience here matters.

Bad weather is supposed to roll in Thursday, clear up later Friday, meaning early times first round, later times second round, could be beneficial. Here are the last five groups, teeing off after one, when the rain and wind is supposed to start picking up:

1:08PM/9:50AM: Fred Couples, Dustin Johnson, Branden Grace
1:19PM/10:12AM: Hunter Mahan, Kiroyuki Fujita, Francesco Molinari
1:30PM/10:23AM: Phil Mickelson, Louis Oosthuizen, Martin Kaymer
1:41PM/10:34AM: Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Fredrik Jacobson
1:52PM/10:45AM: Jason Dufner, Matt Kuchar, Bill Haas

Here are groups with supposed preferred morning tee times that include key players. No big names before 9 a.m.

9:06AM/12:13PM: Mike Weir, Lee Westwood, Jim Furyk
9:17AM/12:24PM: Brandt Snedeker, Ryo Ishikawa, Justin Rose
9:28AM/12:35PM: Jose Maria Olazabal, Merc Leishman, T.J. Vogel (a)
9:39AM/12:46PM: Charl Schwartzel, Webb Simpson, Peter Hanson
9:50AM/12:57PM: Zach Johnson, K.J. Choi, Graeme McDowell
10:12AM/1:08PM: Michael Thompson, John Huh, John Senden
10:23AM/1:18PM: Stewart Cink, Nicolas Colsaerts, Thaworn Wiratchant
10:34AM/1:30PM: Bubba Watson, Ian Poulter, Steven Fox (a)
10:45AM/1:41PM: Tiger Woods, Luke Donald, Scott Piercy
10:56AM/1:52PM: Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Padraig Harrington

Jesus, the Watson line is at -230. Hmm..

Also, who the hell is betting up that Weir over Crenshaw line? Are you nuts? I wouldnt wager 25 cents on Weir.

Also just put 135 on Rose to finish under 15.5. I waited and it went up to -135. I think he is primed to contend. He usually doesnt make big numbers. If any Euro has a chance to win, it's him.

I took Westwood +105 over Charl, Oosthuizen +105 over Dustin Johnson, and Sneds -105 over Graeme McDowell. Never know what you'll get with DJ, and low ball players like McDowell rarely do that well at Augusta. Westwood plays well there and Schwartzel hasn't done anything there outside of his win. Hoping for a good tournament with several big guns in contention on the back 9 Sunday

weir might not even play

Mike Weir took a few small steps along the road to recovery on Monday, hitting a few balls for the first time since he suffered a rib injury at Bay Hill.
That road, by the way, is the one that will lead Weir to the first tee on Thursday. He's hoping to tee it up in his 14th consecutive Masters but that's anything but a sure thing right now.
"I was encouraged," Weir said after taking some swings on the range at the Augusta National Golf Club. "I hit about 30 or 40 shots, including some drivers and I could move through them. They weren't at full speed mind you but for a Monday, it felt pretty good."
Weir spent a little time on the range, mostly hitting full wedge shots but he also hit his driver, swinging slowly at the big stick and carrying the ball about 200 yards. He didn't seem to be wincing or grimacing on any swings but it was obvious he wasn't going full out.
According to his coach, Grant Waite, Weir will stretch things out on Tuesday and likely play a few holes. Waite liked what he saw but said he is unsure whether his student will play come Thursday.
For Weir, this is all about the Masters. If this was any other week on the calendar, he probably would be anywhere but the range.
"No, I'd probably give it another two weeks or so," he said. "But I want to play this tournament. It's important."
Weir knows the risks involved. With this type of injury, he said, the change of aggravating the injury is high. Having just started to show signs of getting his game back on track, missing more events is not what he needs.
"I don't want to be back to where I was two weeks ago and start all over," he said.
If there is a silver lining to the injury, Weir has spent much of the last few weeks just chipping and putting – the only two activities that didn't hurt – and his short game is strong. That's never a bad thing around Augusta National, of course.
Weir added that he will wait until Wednesday before he makes a final decision on whether to play.
"As I ramp it up, as long as I don't have any setbacks, I'll play," he stated. "But if I do, I won't.
"The good thing about this tournament is that I won't be taking any alternate's spot so I can wait before I decide."
This is the 10th anniversary of Weir's win here at Augusta National and there are lots of events surrounding that including a documentary that will air on TSN on Wednesday.
While he has fond memories of that win, right now, he'd settle for being able to get to the first tee on Thursday.

Debating on playing top senior couples and singh +155 and +165. I cant envision any of the other seniors making the cut.

Crenshaw starts 1000/1 on the Champions Tour every week, and averages 75 per round since 2011 on that shit Tour. The last 5 Masters he has missed every cut and shot 159, 155, 155, 156 & 152. He has broken 75 once (followed that up with an 83).

I'd take every player in the field to beat Crenshaw, including the 14yo

What about the guy who is swinging at 50% on the range at Monday and hasnt played in a few weeks..
Who is 186th in driving distance 187th in girs and 186th on tour on approach shots over 200 yards.

I think theres a better chance that Weir withdraws then Ben finishing last..

Weir's last 4 rounds at Augusta, 72,79.76.79 (this is when he was fully healthy and playing a full schedule). If he shoots 72 the bet loses. If he shoots 76 the bet likely loses. My thinking, which I am not 100% certain yet is that if he shoots 78 and his body is hurting, he quits.

To whoever is going this year, please don't wear your golf shoes or stop on the fairway walking paths and take a practice swing.

Those have to be two of the douchiest maneuvers I've ever seen. No they're not going to let you play so no need to wear your spikes. Also get the fuck out of the way on the walking paths...no one is there to see you air swing from 220 out.

I have no problem with the spikes, it makes it easier to walk an extremely tough course to walk. The other stuff is complete douche.

lol. This is fucking hilarious. I had to say something.

Masters Plays - for a lot less than CBB, CFB and MLB

Winning Score 276-279 +190
With the threat of weather on late Thursday and early Friday I think scores could be a touch higher. Winning score has met this criteria in 4/10 years

Jason Day Top Aussie +150
Withdrew last year but finished 2nd in 2011. Struggled in March but has played OK in 2013 so far

Here is the final card. I wanted to play a fade on Olsen, but I just couldnt get any concrete information on how he was feeling. The kid is ultra talented and if healthy hes a tough guy to bet against. The 3 ball fade is juiced extremly high, but its not like im risking 3k to win 900. Its basically risking 1 unit to win a steak at Ruths Chris. Its nice to have a first round play as well.

I think this is Justin's time, he is still relatively young and #3 in the world. He has a nice record here and should be somewhere in the top 10 come weeks end. Piercy was saying Bubba looked good yesterday in the practice round. Bubba can reach all of the par 5's, 3 of them with irons. It's an advantage for sure. His putting is what's scary, but as long as his ball striking is decent, he should finish in the top 20. BOL to everyone this week.

Darren working more on the 12 oz. curls then his stretching.....

Some craziness if you think about him winning a major way past his prime. Same with the big easy who completely fell apart after the jet ski accident. He lost all faith in his putting yet some how won a major late in his career. Probably due to the fact adam scott gagged it away. Still 2 very unlikely winners.

took Jason Day in the group I posted...

thoughts on these 3?
