Well, the time to make the run is now. The schedule is condusive to a major run.

they need to get the japanese bust igawa out of the rotation and they have to stop splitting games with Tampa. Winning 11 of 14 is certainly the type of run they needed to get started and the schedule is favorable. Personally I don't think Cleveland has the pitching to last all summer.

I saw Phil Hughes and Jeff Karstens pitch the last two nights. Igawa will improve or be replaced, he will not be pitching in the rotation the way he is now in Sept. Those guys are ready.

BAR, Hunt, and Fondy know my thoughts on this one. They prolly think i've been nuts all along...but i've been confident all along just the same.

100 games into the season though...so 40% of the season left to play. Which means there are still peaks and valleys left for each and every team. Lot's of baseball left. My point is that things can/will change continually, not jsut for the Yanks. But we all tend to over-react to the today...regardless of who your favorite team happens to be.

Lastly, it's 4 games from the wild card and 6 from the east. All that matters in baseball is the Loss column. Don' think i need to explain why that is, but take this particular half game. By Friday, and 6 more outs, it won't be there anymore.
In any case...4-6 games can be made up by any team in baseball...with two real good weeks, combined w/ a .500 stretch by whoever's in the lead. Thus...there are MANY teams still alive...with a realistic shot at a spot in the postseason.

hunt/bar/fondy have heard me ramble about this before...

but due to some of our fav teams, compare DET and NYY. Tigers have scored 12 more runs, but have given up 26 more. then look at the expected W/L.

anyways, you'll interpret this with whatever team's colors you prefer...but it means quite a bit, depending on how you analyze #'s like this.

yanks have one weakness, and it's middle relief. but every teams has it's flaws, as not a one looks dominant to me.
so with so much time left in the season...it's still wide open, and the Yanks are jsut one of many with a very good shot.
