What did we learn after Thanksgiving Week?

Dak Prescott held the longest pass of the season title for 3 days.

There is a 7 way tie for throwing pick sixes at 2 apiece:
Peterman (of course)
Rosen (sure)
Darnold (Ok)
Fitzmagic (yep)
Kirkie (hmmm)
Wilson (wha?)
Stafford (wtf)

LA Chargers were concerned pregame about whether to play Melvin based on a knee issue. But they relented and Melvin for a half looked great. Then up 28-10 over a vastly superior opponent they decided to show how smart they are and ran a bad timed double reverse (first time run all year!) that gets Melvin injured on his other knee. Somehow the coaches are still employed today.

Its been said before....some teams play to win....other teams just play and hope to win.

Jags still jagging and were bent over by Bills mafia

Baker is a douche, friend-zoned Hue and the trolling of Hue was fantastic

Gronk aint gronk no more, he no longer deserves or will see double coverage...single only

Arod needs a divorce from McCarthy, fire the coach...the pack team is a mess

Philly getting booed at home until a luckbox win

Football is boring without Patrick Mahomes.

Seriously though, is this not the worst Patriots team in recent memory? Saints would blow them the eff out. KC has to sweep Balt, LAC and at Seattle (yikes) to ensure homefield. As not good as I think the Pats are, I don’t see the Vikes or Steelers beating them

i was pretty drunk yesterday night, did i deserve a cover/push on GB +3? I feel like i did but am unsure

NE has struggled with a lot of bad teams this year, but thank god they play in a division of losers as it gives them 6 wins a year. MIN or PIT can definitely beat them, but whether it happens i'm not sure

I am still somewhat nervous about my KC to win the West bet, even with the road win @LAC, but the Gordon injury will help. I think LAC is good and that will earn them an extra point or two this weekend which will be nice for ATS purposes, but as @Gandolf mentioned they have hurt their chances significantly to beat KC. RB is very replaceable, yeah, but Gordon seemed to be a difference-maker who can score from long distances that the other rostered RBs can not

I learned that during the last 10 seasons only 32 out of 2578 NFL games have ended in a margin of 9 points. That's 1.2% of all NFL games during that time. So when you tease a game to 9.5 you are losing an entire point of value. Play +8.5 or +10. It's different in college, but in the NFL when you back a dog that's +9 or +9½ the bookmaker is saying thank you. That's why you always see 9½ in live betting. Lay 9½ all day long if that's your side. If you want proof, sell -8½ to -9½ and see what the price difference is. It's nothing, because +9 is a dead number in the NFL. That's what I learned.

Also, the Patriots are going to collect all the takeaways that GB couldn't get last night. Cousins is overdue for some turnovers and he's going to start coughing them up shortly after kickoff at Gillette this weekend. Pats are smart. Cousins is overdue. The -7 doesn't surprise me at all.

Yeah, I had the numbers favor a lot of +9plus teams and swallowed hard to make the bet. Not sure one panned out.

Great post.

Thats crazy stuff Austin. I'd have thought 30-21 was fairly common. +9 is a very common NFL tease.

I've always heard that about the NFL 9 although I'd expect that number to increase over the next decade with the longer extra point and more teams doing the analytic 2pt attempt at not so obvious times now

What Carroll has done in Seattle is incredible, especially after losing the legion of boom. Their o line went from perennial swinging gates to serviceable, goes to show how awful Tom Cable is I suppose

also focusing on the run benefits the pass when you have an awesome QB

Learned that Clemson beast Mike Williams is coming to haunt dbs.

The Calvin Johnson clone is a red zone beast.

6’4 with body control of a ballerina.

Rivers to Williams!!

Dallas is Seattle 2.0 defense!

Charles Haley is getting pressure.

Secondary with Woodson solid.

Coach Switzer has the cowboys balling!

That Kareem Hunt needs work on this hotel etiquette escorting fangirls from his room

I think this a weakass PR move. I’m all for suspension. But for the Chiefs to say they had no knowledge of this when there was a police and league investigation is bullshit.

Now I would like to begin the Leveon Bell to the Chiefs rumors.
