What are we learning so far week 13?

Ohio State the best team in the nation

Kansas playing very well lately. Really turned it around
Still take Oregon as best team in the conference.

OSU issues on OL and Howard is solid but we'll see playing a few games against really good opponents in a row.

I said it last year, so it's not like I just learned it, but Milroe just isn't good enough to be the QB at a place like Alabama. When things are going well, he's so dangerous, but when he goes up against a competent defense, he just goes into a shell and makes bad decision after bad decision. I appreciate everything he's done and the way he's represented himself and the program, but I hope these next two games are his last in an Alabama jersey. Hopefully some NFL GM will fall in love and overdraft and overpay him

It also felt like at times this year that Alabama thought they were going to win the game because of the name on the jersey. But it's exactly because of that name that they are going to get the absolute best from every team they play. Hopefully it's been a learning experience for the staff. Will be interesting to see the roster management this offseason. Great bones and a really nice recruiting class coming in

I think it's also pretty clear that parity hit the SEC a lot faster than most thought. While I can buy that there are no elite teams, there are at least 8 or 9 teams that can play with anyone on any given Saturday

Yeah, the new way of CFB will be a lot of 2-3 loss teams but the regular season will have a lot more good games as well.

Some concering things for Deboer, the lack of ingame adjustments, not having his team ready, again. Brutal lifeless loss.

Great win by Notre Dame.

Are we supposed to take Coach Prime serious getting murked by Kansas?

Indiana is sorry, that offensive output was abysmal. They shouldn't be in, but 'shocking' they have another cupcake, and will crush them. They should be very thankful cfb is just meh this year.

UGA has a big game Friday night. If they win, they are in the playoffs, regardless of the outcome in the SEC. Still think in a big game, on a neutral field no one wants to play this team.

Off the grid yesterday. Some day.
- Thought a week ago that A&M would lose to Auburn and then beat the Horns. Nothing's changed. I simply don't trust Ewers in that environment.
- Not shocked by Ohio's win. No amount of scheming and adjustments will compensate for that disparity in talent and athleticism.
- Looked to be an uninspired debacle from Alabama. Jackson Arnold beat you? And high school juniors can't throw those interceptions that Milroe did. And they don't. Those weren't just picks. They were atrocious picks.
- Yeah, leave it to Kiffen to get a hallmark win against Georgia and then wet the bed in Gainesville.
- Mr. Peanut has grapefruit-sized balls. At least yesterday.
- Hats off, again, to SMU. Primed for a letdown and not needing to win at UVA, just took care of business. Can't wait to get points with it in the ACC title game, whether that be Miami or Clemson.
- Speaking of prime, nice shove of the ref, Shedeur. Who's surprised?
- Where was this, all season, Kansas? Last 4 games it's been the best team in the Big 12.

Uncomfortable AD interview of the weekend:

George Constanza (former) coaching moment of the weekend:

Learned that I will definitely be on Indiana full game, 1H and TT vs Purdue next week. That will be Cignetti's response to the playoff discussion (to the extent there is any - IU should be after what happened yesterday elsewhere).

Will hate week games lose some edge given all the NIL / free agency mercenaries?

Hard to see an edge in the egg bowl. Neither team probably wants to be there. I liked Miss St when Ole Miss was CFP bound. But Miss St is just so bad and I think trying to find any angle here is a stretch and doubt I’ll play.

I struggle with over vs under reacting. The Iron Bowl line was UA -14.5 before yesterday and now it’s 11.5. Auburn’s motivation is obvious and I’m struggling to see Bama’s. Auburn is the correct side IMO.

Will Georgia miraculously backdooring into the SECCG affect their game against Tech? 20.5 points is tempting.

Biff is so great.

Hoping he comes back here in an advisory role. He was huge in the 21-22 seasons.

It’s a watered down product right now. NIL, playoff expansion all of it.
I don’t hate it, it’s just different.
Parity hit real fast like someone said, especially the SEC.

The scheduling will fix itself imo. This shit can’t fly

We're going to have a handful of years like this till they come to the final product.

Unbalanced schedules are brutal.

There's no way of getting away from unbalanced schedules. Everything is based on perception in the first place, but if we get the NFL version of schedules it could keep things more fair I guess. That would require not making schedules too far in advance if you catch my drift.

I think the best we can hope for is making p4 OOC scheduling a requirement. There's not much you can do about conference scheduling because it can be hard to predict who is going to be good in a given year, especially with the transfer portal as it is currently constructed. To your last point, the schools seemed to make it work during the covid season, so yeah, they could make it work on shorter time schedules for sure
