I didn't see the back 9 collapse, but the parts I saw of his first 11 holes, he looked more like a pro shaking off some rust than the train wreck from Phoenix in Feb 2014

old school scotty, got rid of some of that bulk in his upper body and looked solid as fuck f9. didn't putt too well on the b9 and watched him hit the ball into the drink off the T to follow a double bogey. not a bad first step, mostly positive

Only a couple pretty bad shots, the poor scoring on the B9 was largely due to missing his drives by just a few yards in one direction. Very positive, and as they said on the broadcast, the putting was a bit off because the greens were a little slow and he powered a few putts through the breaks.

Tough round yesterday, but I don't know how you could say it was anything other than an unqualified success. Hope he can build on it and be competitive for an entire season. I expect him to contend at the Masters regardless. When do we expect him back? Torrey Pines at the end of January?

I don't know the laws of Florida concerning DUI, but in Alabama, I'm pretty sure that even if you refuse a breathalyzer at the scene, you have to take one at the station, or maybe a blood test. Why would he come out and say alcohol wasn't involved if there will be definitive proof coming out eventually? It's been rumored for a while that he has had battled addiction to pain meds. Mixing an opiate with a benzo or a sleeping pill is more than enough to make you drive crazy. I'm sure a lot of people are enjoying this train wreck and a lot of folks are casting stones, but I think it's gotten to the point where we should be more concerned with Tiger's overall mental health, and that compassion will go a long way. Hope he gets it together. And quickly
