Well that felt like a brutal week and to see came out down only .35 units was quite satisfying. Going to set up this thread a bit better this week so that I can acutally post thoughts about games with the selections. If I'm only posting my card then it's not worth the time. I can do that on excel offline. All thoughts and discussions are welcome ecspecially if you're on the other side of something I'm playing.

I'll post my card in the days following.

I wanted to fade Boston from the beginning of the year and as much as I'm cautious after opening night I'm going to give it another shot. Toronto bench is one of the better ones in the league and should do some damage to the C's here. Ford-Rondo matchup should be entertaining. I'll say that Rondo is goign to be better than I gave him credit for. Celtics get Posey back this game. Probably play the under if it contiues to rise.

Added the +8 and U 205.5 with Amare injury news and the books not adjust yet. The Suns are already short handed enough with the new guys learning the system. No without Amare and they are even thinner. Bench consists of 3 guys. Don't look now, but the Suns start a 4 in 5 on Tuesday.

Missed out on the 208'. More a play of the Suns not seeming to run like last year. They're a mess and the fact they only put up 106 on Seattle and 98 on the Lakers shows it. Expecting the Suns to get into the win column today but not by scoring 110 points. Thinking 103-94. No interest in a side.

Clippers -6

Locking this one in as it's heading to 6'. Clipps go 2-0 before heading out on a 3 game roadie. As much a fade of the Sonics as anything. I'm convniced already that the Sonics shouldn't be running the ball. 20 TO's a game is a real possibility.

Bobcats +3.5
Under 186.5

Another fade. Pacers have given up 110 points to the Wizards and Grizzlies yet the Heat could only score 85. Add that to the 80 points they scored against Detroit and I'm sold that they have no offense. Zero. Zilch. I think the under might be the more solid of the two but plan on cashing both.

Nothing but Football for me tonight.

Lines bother me as Dallas should be more than a 7' point fav. They should roll, but......... Detroit should be a solid play as well as a 1 point fav, but I've lost enough money on small road favs this month to last a year. No opinion on the other one.

Talk to me about that Clipps play, that one surprises me. I can't see laying 6 with those clowns against the energetic Seattle boys led by Durant.

Energetic or not the Sonics aren't a good team. As bad as the Suns played at Seattle they still left with a 7 point victory. I don't think the Sonics have the players to run, at least until the rookies get some experience. The Clipps handled a similar running team in the Warriors and I prefer to think the Warriors are better than the Sonics although it's hard to tell how good/bad the Warriors are after two games against a team they can't beat (Jazz). Like I said earlier more of a fade of the Sonics than anything.

Well hopefully those two adds will please you. Seriously though I'll get more selective as the season gets going. Just seeing some weak #'s on teams that are still valued wrong. Sick of hitting leans instead of tickets.
 
Dallas/Houston Under 190

Hundred reasons why I like this bet but I'm in a small rush. Real quick these teams have covered this # once in their last 6 meetings. Looking at the pace of these two teams against each other you realize that one will have to hit 50% for this to go over. If it's anything like a normal HOU/DAL game we'll have a 100-70 final.

For those betting the spread it's probably good to know that the SU winner has covered 9 of the last 10 times in the series.

I'm also going to start doing a (POD) to see how I would do if I started playing different unit sizes. I've typically flat bet, but intrigued what the results will be over the first month.

Line's going to move down to 2.5 and I don't want to lose the 1/2 point.

Sonics you are not concerned with a 4th quarter collapse? I think the 1H might be a better play.

Not sure about the Funs/Kittens matchup. Alot depends on Amare, but it probably won't be a play either way. Plenty of time to fade the Suns on this four game roadie and if Amare goes tonight I don't think we'll see him tomorrow and vice versa. If the Suns play their starters 40+ minutes tonight, as they did without Amare last game, then it's really easy to see them going 1-3 on this trip. Ok maybe 2-2. Phoenix certainly isn't impressing me at the moment and the Bucks are 2-0 with some confidence. Even with the consensus that Miami sucks the Bobcats were still able to go down to South Beach and get a victory. Impressive for a team that won 13 games on the road all last year. It's just a matter of how much that confidence can carry them. Probably a pass, but we'll see what happens when Amare's status is updated.

Warriors are certain to get outrebounded in this game, but when haven't they? Being this is only the 2nd road game of the trip I think it is one that Cleveland knows it has to win. The Warriors also really need this game as Dallas is about to come in and hand out a little payback. The only other game they "should win" in the near future is Nov. 16th hosting the Clipps. Both teams obvioulsy feeling they need to get this one and a line that shows it. I'm just not that interested at the moment.

Otherwise I just walked in the door and I'll be taking a 2nd look at the card and probably adding some plays in a bit.

I normally might be worried but they're playing the Kings. Granted the Sonics collapsed against the Clipps but the other two teams were Denver and Phoenix. Both of those teams can score points in bunches, but you could be completely right about the 1st half play. Main worry there is that this is the Kings home opener so you've got to deal with the riding the momentum of the crowd.

Bobcats -2. New of Felton playing has me on it. This will be the best team Indy has faced so far and their roughing up of Mem, MIA, WAS has provided a nice short # for a decent Bobcats team.

If you haven't noticed yet the Miami Heat are really bad offensively. Not only are they last in the league in scoring efficeincy, but they are also the slowest paced team in the league as well. They're averaging a solid 83 points a game. Their defense hasn't been as bad as you'd think as they're only giving up 89 points a game and most of that is due to the slow pace they're playing w/o Wade. An insurance to the whole play is the fact that the Suns should be up 20 heading to the fourth and rest their starters as they play Orlando tomorrow.

SUNDAY PLAY:

WIZARDADS/HAWKS U 193'

Probably take a look at the Sonics, Heat U, Knicks (Wade Status), CHA, LAC (injury statuses unknown at the moment).
 
Heat/Knicks U192 DWade is confirmed OUT. Zach Randolph is also out and that certainly helps any Under bet. For his offense and his lack of defense.

Like the under in this one, but don't want to get burnt by the Rockets scoring 100+.
