Both starting QBs were out for New Mexico and UNLV. NM’s Sheriron Jones had a big game, UNLV’s Max Gilliam did not. Jones was 13-20-250-4-0, leading rusher 72y. Gilliam 15-35-123-2-1, sacked 5x. UNLV ran for just 43y, 293y below their season avg. NM got 10 pts off just 27y of O following an INT and a 23y punt in the 1st H, but NM still led 29-0 HT. UNLV did not cross midfield until halfway through the 3rd qrt. NM converted UNLV’s second turnover for a 11y TD “drive”. 50-14 F. NM outgained them 502-166 (6.2-2.7).

San Jose State could do little to nothing on offense in the 1st H and Colorado State led 28-0 HT. SJST would then score the second most pts in a 3rd qrt in MWC history. CSU punted from their own EZ and SJSt started on the C25 for their first TD drive. SJSt’s next drive was kept alive by roughing the passer and they got a 40y pass the next play setting up their second TD. SJSt’s next drive saw a 23y run and a 51y TD pass. CSU’s first play of the next poss was an INT ret’d to the C17 for an easy SJSt TD, then CSU fumbled the ensuing KO recovered into the EZ for a safety and SJSt amazingly led 30-28!!! Unfortunately SJSt couldn’t hold the improbable lead. CSU retook the lead early 4th qrt off a 11p 83y drive…35-30. CSU then got a pick-six…42-30. SJSt was then INT’d in the EZ, 42-30 would be the final. CSU had 391-285 TY edge (5.3-3.7). CSU’s 219y rushing was a season high. Each team threw 2 INTs. CSU D 6 sacks (SJSt 2). There was some question about who would QB CSU this week and Carta-Samuels started and threw 27 of their 29 pass attempts. SJSt RB Nevens saw his first action since week 1 and got 20 carries for 73y.

Nevada QB Ty Gangi was out so Cristian Solano got his first start and went 22-43-195-0-3, 23att-71y. Fresno entered the game averaging 45pts but were held to just 21 and Nevada actually outgained them 327-271 (3.8-5.2) and held a 21-12 FD edge! Each team went 3-and-out 7x. Nevada was SOD at the F35 and F10. Fresno was +2 TO margin. Fresno D 4 sacks.

A lot of rumor and mystery surrounded Cole McDonald’s status leading up the Wyoming – Hawaii game. In McDonald’s place UH’s Tr Fr Chevan Cordeiro got his first career start (Tua Tagovailoa’s backup in high school). WYO drove for a 43y FG, UH was SOD at W04 and fumbled at the W25 before tying on a 39y FG. Rest of the half was punts. 3-3 HT. WYO DE Granderson got a 61y pick-six mid 3rd qrt. Later WYO would punt from their own EZ and after a penalty UH was set up at the W33 and UH would tie 10-10. WYO was SOD at H41. UH punted and WYO had a 1st down at the H11, but settled for a 23y FG to lead 13-10 mid 4th. UH converted 4th-and-1 and a few plays later threw a 38y TD pass to take the lead with just 1min left. 17-13. WYO got as far as the H24, but were sacked and had a false start. From the H35 they gained 21y on their final attempt when time expired. UH 19-13 FD, 304-244 TY (4.6-4.7). The 304y was 191 below UH’s season avg. RY were equal 157-156 after taking sacks into account. WYO RB Nico Evans ran for career high 192y. The teams combined for just 5-of-24 3rd down conversions. UH D 5 sacks, WYO D 4 sacks. UH -2 TOs.

Excellent as usual, mr _ _ sk. How do you compile this great stuff ? Do you analyze box scores ? I think in many cases that you watch a lot of videos. At least that the implication I get at .

When I am at home, which I wasn't this week, but almost always am home for Saturdays, I watch as many games a possible...8 TVs then my laptop and ipad can make it 10 and sometimes mute them all and listen to a game on the radio that isn't on.

As fun as that is, atleast for me, it way overloads my memory and I remember almost nothing I saw at noon when it comes time to do a recap because there has been so much I'm trying to take in. Not the best way to study a game, but does make it great for keeping up with everything.

I go to most of the conference websites as a starting point and quickly scan through their recap to see if there is anything of importance for me to take from that. Otherwise I use box scores, mostly the drive charts and then when I am curious on something I read the actual play-by-play. And occasionally if I have a memory of note, I will add something like that.

But I miss alot. Like trick plays are hard to pick up on, how was a pass INT'd, was it deflected and should've been caught or was it a bad throw. And so forth.

I always just kind of went through box scores on my own without taking notes or anything, but then I would forget what I read a couple days later. So me doing this is helpful for me and I am glad that some other people get something out of it.

Alabama scored TDs on their first 3 poss, were SOD at the Ark43, and scored on their final 3 poss of the 1st H and led 41-14 HT. Ark’s 14 pts were the most Bama has allowed in the 1st H this season and just the 2nd time in the last 22 games Bama has allowed that many. Ark had their best opening drive of the season, a 9p 30y (ended on sack/fumble at AL41). The possession after Bama was SOD, Ark fumbled that drive at the Bama01. Ark also had two drives of 11p for the first time this year, one in 2nd qrt led to TD, the other in the 3rd qrt led to FG. Bama scored on every poss of the 2nd H including a pick-six. Ark was SOD at their own 45, kicked a 3rd qrt FG and scored on back-to-back TDs to end the game the later coming with just :13 left. 65-31 F. Bama did have 639-405 TY edge (10.8-5.7). Both teams 50% 3rd down.

Missouri – South Carolina was played in heavy rain and saw two weather delays. MU had leads of 17-7 and 23-14 in the 1st H with MU having a 321-149 1st H yard edge. It would be a disastrous 3rd qrt for the Tigers. SC converted a 4th down on their way to an opening 3rd qrt TD…23-21. A critical moment in the game then happened when Crockett appeared to score on a 70y TD run, but replay showed him out at the S11. MU would eventually have a 4th-and-33 from the S34 due to penalties then MU fumbled the punt snap and SC had the ball at the S46 which led to a 42y FG and SC’s first lead of the game 24-23. Next poss Lock was expecting to hit a RB on a screen pass, but the RB fell down and Lock threw the ball to where he was supposed to be and into the waiting arms of an SC defender and SC would get a 12y pick-six! 31-23. MU appeared to recover driving to the S02, but had to settle for a 25y FG, which was missed! The 4th qrt was kinder to MU, they blk’d a punt setting up a 21y TD drive (2pt no good)…31-29 SC led. Next poss, SC fumbled the punt snap leading to a 44y FG giving the Tigers the lead again 32-31 early 4th. SC went back on top with a 42y FG…34-32 6:23 left. Teams traded TOs, then after an hour weather delay MU kicked a 57y FG for the 35-34 lead 1min left. SC would drive 9p 53y to the M16 and made a 33y game winning FG. MU had 490-377 TY (6.0-4.6). MU ran for 286 (6.2) to SC’s 128 (2.7). MU threw 2 INTs, SC lost a fumble. MU was in the RZ 8x, only got 3 TDs, 3 FGs and two empty possessions. SC started Scarnecchia with Bentley injured.

LSU drove 10p 75y for 7-0 lead, then were back in UF terr on their second drive with a 1st down at the F28, but Burrow was sacked/fumbled. LSU outgained UF 121-22 on the first 3 poss of the game for each team. LSU punted from their own EZ and UF was able to tie on a 9p 43y drive. LSU had a 4th-and-1 at the F15 and kicked a 33y FG for the 10-7 lead. UF quickly went 7p 75y on some chunk plays and led 14-10 with 1min left in the 1st H. LSU got 31 and 47 yard runs from Brossette on their way to a 19-14 lead (2pt no good) early 4th. UF came right back on a 9p 75y drive to retake the lead…20-19 (2pt no good). LSU punted from midfield and downed it at the F04, but Gators were able to drive out to their own 34 and downed their punt at the L12 to flip the field with 2-1/2min left. UF then got a 25y pick-six…27-19. LSU converted 4th-and-19 and got near midfield, but another 4th down pass was INT’d to seal the Gator win. Florida outgained them 391-372 (5.5-5.0). UF ran for 215 (5.0) to LSU’s 180 (4.4). LSU lost 3 TOs, UF lost 1. UF D had 5 sacks (LSU 0). There were combined 8 punts downed inside the 20.

Texas A&M outgained Kentucky 390-178 (5.2-3.6), but needed OT to win 20-14. UK had 11 offensive possessions in regulation and they only crossed midfield on one of them, a 54y TD pass, so they actually did not run an offensive snap in A&M territory until OT! UK led 7-0. A&M was SOD a the K27, scored a TD on a 13p 70y drive, missed a 40y FG, threw INT at the K46, got a 2p 48y drive after a punt and led 14-7 when A&M appeared to have a busted play on 3rd-and-1, a confused Mond was hit and fumbled which UK ret’d 40y to amazingly tie with 4min left. A&M punted, UK got near midfield, but Wilson was sacked back-to-back. In OT UK missed a FG off the crossbar and A&M ran one in. 20-14 F. 21-8 FD edge for A&M. A&M D 6 sacks (UK 4). VU came back down for a 42y FG, but UGA added another TD for the 21-6 HT lead. Dawgs only had a 263-230 1st H yard edge. 4 of VU’s first 5 poss reached UGA terr (FG, punt, SOD G14, FG), VU was a combined 2-of-8 3rd and 4th down in the half.
