Week Six M*A*S*H Report: Several Offenses Will Be Limited

Week Six has arrived, but many key offensive players—including some late additions to the injury report-- are likely to miss action. Their absence should influence how bettors will want to compile their betting card.

Bears vs Dolphins

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill was a late and unexpected addition to the injury report. He’s dealing with injuries to his throwing shoulder. The timing couldn’t be worse for a Miami offense that’s been out of sync without top wide receiver DeVante Parker, but that may actually get back Parker. Parker will be a game-time decision. Both players will be sorely needed against a tough Bears defense. Journeyman Brock Osweiler is Tannehill’s backup—because even the Cleveland Browns couldn’t stand having him. Chicago is coming off its bye and is looking much healthier. Rookie Anthony Miller and cornerback Prince Amukamara will suit up.

Panthers vs Redskins

The good news for Washington is that quarterback Alex Smith will definitely play. The bad news is that he may miss help all around him. Three wide receivers are listed as ‚questionable‘ and it would be a very positive surprise if two of them played and if one of them were effective despite their injuries. Jamison Crowder has yet to practice. Paul Richardson didn’t practice before Friday and Josh Doctson has been limited in practice throughout the week. Moreover, both starting running backs are listed as ‚questionable.‘ Finally, guard Shawn Lauvao likely will fail to return to Washington’s make-shift offensive line. The news is better for Carolina. Tight end Greg Olsen is fit and will return.

Colts vs Jets

The Jets opened as three-point favorites and have been bet down to as low as -1.5 despite destroying Denver last week at home. Colts backers may be onto something. A huge piece of New York’s success last week, running back Isaiah Crowell, is listed as ‚doubtful.‘ He accrued over 200 yards on the ground versus Denver. Moreover, the Jets’ pass defense is ranked highly, but hasn’t faced a quarterback like Andrew Luck. It will have to stop the Colts’ pass attack with a banged-up secondary. Cornerback Trumaine Johnson is listed as ‚doubtful' and fellow corner Buster Skrine is listed as ‚out.‘ Meanwhile, the Colts get back left tackle Anthony Castonzo, meaning that Luck’s blindside will finally be well-protected. Receiver T.Y. Hilton won’t play, but tight end Eric Ebron is practicing fully after being banged-up by New England’s defense. He’ll look to have another big day as Luck’s top pass-catcher. Running back Marlon Mack will also return.

Jaguars vs Cowboys

The Jaguars are still banged-up at offensive line. Left tackle Cam Robinson entered IR a few weeks ago. His backup, Josh Wells, will also miss Sunday’s game. In a desperate scramble, the Jaguars have just signed left tackle Ereck Flowers from the Giants. The Jags’ o-line will try to develop some semblance of chemistry despite the new member. The Jags also signed washed-up 31 year-old running back Jamaal Charles. He’ll at least add depth behind T.J. Yeldon, who is replacing the injured Leonard Fournette. Fellow backup Corey Grant hit IR after the loss to Kansas City. In terms of pass-catchers, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins joined top receiver Marqise Lee on IR. The only good news for Jacksonville is that Dallas’ defense will miss significant quality in linebacker Sean Lee, possibly also defensive tackle Maliek Collins, and defensive ends Randy Gregory and DeMarcus Lawrence. Lawrence, though, is more likely to play than starting corner Chidobie Awuzie, who is listed as ‚questionable.' For Jacksonville’s defense, Ccrnerback D.J. Hayden remains 'out' and top corner Jalen Ramsey has been limited in practice the past couple days and is listed as ‚questionable.‘ Coach Doug Marrone calls Ramsey’s playing status a „50-50“ proposition because of his knee. If there were ever a game where Jacksonville wanted to miss a few corners, this one is it. Dallas has been notorious this season for problems with its offense. Plus, two of their receivers have been downgraded to ‚doubtful,‘ Deonte Thompson and Brice Butler. Thompson has the second-most receptions among Dallas wide receivers.

Chiefs vs Patriots

Kansas City’s bottom-ranked defense will really struggle to stop Tom Brady and New England’s rush attack. Star safety Eric Berry continues to be out. KC also misses depth at the position because Eric Murray will not play. The Chiefs already have two safeties on IR. But the biggest worry could be at linebacker, where Justin Houston is likely to be absent. Houston has three sacks, two forced fumbles, and two stuffs so far.

The Justin Houston injury is a big one. Dee Ford leads the league in pressures on the other side but with no Houston they will be able to neutralize Ford. In Houston's place is former Chief/current Chief Frank Zombo who is a bad football player. The other option is 2nd round pick Breeland Speaks who has shown little sign that he is ready for a test like this. Tanoh Kpassagnon could be an option but he will be a game time decision. The Eric Murray injury isn't the worst. Jordan Lucas is about an equal player.

Play James White in ALL of your DFS leagues even though Id love to see him get stopped all night.
