Another sweep in week 6. I'll post the game recaps in the morning. But 3 of the 4 dogs won SU, and Gardner-Webb lost 13-10 despite almost +300 yards on offense.
Week 6
2* 1-0...... +2u
1* 2-0...... +2u
Recap of plays....
Northern Iowa -11.5 teased to -5.5 34-14 Final - The score should have been about 45-14, but UNI was unable to move the ball once they got into the redone a few times, and had to settle for FGs and even missed a chip shot. Statistically it looked like an even game, but over 3/4 of Nicholl's yards came off of a few drives they busted some big plays, but other than that, they hardly were able to move the ball. UNI really controlled the ball and moved the chains and easily won this game.
Elon +8 teased to +14 31-10 final - Elon came out and made a statement in this game. They forced Furman into some turnovers, and made them pay. Something interesting is the development of the ground game, as they put up 231 yards in this one. I think that puts them over 200 yards in 3 of the 5 games this year. Elon can always throw for 350 on any given day, but to consistently put up 200 yds on the ground will make them so dangerous moving forward, by opening up the passing game.
Gardner-Webb +8.5 teased to +14.5 10-13 final - Not much to say about this one but TURNOVERS. GW had drives of 71, 41, 67 end in turnovers, and another 61 yd drive end in a missed FG. Charleston Southern had 0 drives over 33 yards, the entire game!!!!!!!!!!! I got the cover, and that's all that matters.
UMAss +1.5 teased to +7.5 17-7 final- This game should have been 34-7 or worse, but UMass was another team that was plagued by turnovers. However, the questions about the D were answered, as they dominated Delaware. But a few INTs inside the redzone, and one in the endzone cost UMass some points. But there is no reason to be laying points on the road in the CAA, and that's what we capitalized on today.
Liberty +4.5 teased to +10.5 41-38 final - What a game! Up and down the field from both teams, and the score is as close as the box score. Liberty did it with big plays, and Coastal was constantly pulling off 10 yards to move the chains. I am very impressed with Coastal's QB Zack MacDowall, who is a Wake transfer. It would have been an awesome game to go to, that's fo sure.
