Memphis scored TDs on their first 5 drives and led 38-10 HT. 59-22 F. Memphis had TD runs of 54, 61 and 72 yards. Henderson 14-233-2TD. TY 679-312 (11.0-4.1 ypp).

Temple led 14-0, Maryland went 3-and-out on 4 of their first 5 drives. UM got a 23y pick-six…14-7, but Temple scored again before HT. TU scored a 47y TD pass in the 3rd then both teams scored non-offensive TDs. UM scored no O TDs in the game. 35-14 F. TU 21-11 FD, 429-195 TY (5.4-3.8 ypp), 165-132 RY (3.2-4.3ypc). Russo started for TU and went 15-25-228-1-1. Hill 7-17-56-0-1.

UConn led 21-7, 28-14, 42-28, then it was tied 42-42 in the 3rd and 49-49 in the 4th. UC took the lead with :57 left 56-49. Rhode Island was sacked as time expired from the UC16. 56-49 F. UC 573-550 TY (7.1-8.9 ypp). RI only faced four 3rd downs! They were 0-4. UC was 4-of-4 on 4th down. Pindel 20-27-308-4-1, 137y rushing 2 TDs. Mensah 25-144-2TD.

USF took their first lead of the game 25-19 with 2:24 left. USF missed 2 FGs and threw 2 INTs (ILL lost one fumble). ILL ended the game at the SF25 running out of time. TY 626-380 (7.5-4.8 ypp) for USF. USF D had 5 sacks. Barnett 23-40-411-2-2. Rivers 20-29-168-0-0.

Navy went up 7-0, then Lehigh got a 75y TD run to tie. Navy scored the next 41 pts, leading 48-7 entering the 4th qrt. Lehigh scored a TD with :13 left for a 51-21 F. TY 626-336 (8.2-5.2 ypp). Navy 484 R (7.8 ypc).

Cincinnati scored 28 1st qrt pts and led 42-0 HT and 56-7 end of 3rd. FD 38-8, TY 741-182 (9.1-3.4 ypp). 63-7 F.
 
ACC

Boston College RB Dillion ripped a 45y TD run to quickly lead 7-0. WF was set up for their first TD after a BC fumbled punt on the B13. BC went back up 14-7, WF blk’d a punt for a TD to tie again 14-14. A 10p 81y drive made it 21-14 WF. BC tied 21-21 HT. WF took the lead on a 27y FG. BC then scored 20 of the next 23 pts to lead 41-27 late 4th when WF got their final TD with 1:33 left (converted 3 fourth downs on the drive). BC recovered the onside kick. WF was SOD at the B08 and kicked a total of 2 FGs from inside the BC10 yard lines. 41-34 F. WF 27-19 FD, 298-220 RY (5.0-5.0 ypc). BC 524-512 TY (7.6-4.9 ypp). BC D got 4 sacks. Clemson and Ga Southern was scoreless 1st qrt. Clem was INT’d, missed FG and fumbled all in GaS territory. Clem then scored 3 TDs before HT to lead 21-0. GaS crossed midfield twice in the first 3 quarters. A 4th qrt INT set up GaS for a 2p 46y TD drive. 38-7 F. Clem had FD 27-7, TY 595-140 (7.7-2.7 ypp) edges. Lawrence 12-19-194-1-1. Florida State did not cross midfield unitl their final poss of the 1st H when clock mismanagement saw them drive to S12 with time expiring. Syracuse kicked two FGs from inside the 5, missed a third FG and was SOD at the F25 to lead only 6-0 with a 201-93 yard edge at HT. FSU could only sustain one 2nd H drive while Cuse got it going with backup QB DeVito, scoring on 3 of their 4 2nd H possessions. Dungey appeared to have a noncontact throwing arm injury early which he returned from, but he took a lot of hits and often got up gimpy, he left the game in the 2nd qrt and did not return. 30-7 F. Cuse had edges - FD 25-11, TY 441-240 (5.0-4.0 ypp), RY 222-62 (3.9-2.2 ypc). DeVito 11-16-144-1-0. Dungey 7-15-75-0-0. Francois 18-36-178-0-1. Akers 10-52, Patrick 4-14. Cuse D 4 sacks. Miami led 21-0 when Toledo scored right before HT 21-7. Tol came out with a TD in the 3rd, but Miami would respond to each Tol score maintaining a double digit margin most of the half. Tol’s three 4th qrt poss netted negative 14 yards. 49-24 F. TY 473-334 (6.2-5.7 ypp) for UM. Tol just 2-of-11 3rd down. Miami D got 13 TFL and 4 sacks, Tol got zero sacks. Pitt got up 7-0, then GT faked a punt from their own 28! 3 plays later Pitt led 14-0. Later in the half GT was also SOD at the P23 and missed a long FG before HT. 21-0 HT. It was 24-6 when GT scored two 4th qrt TDs including a 14p 99y drive with just :37 left. Pitt recovered the onside kick. 24-19 F. Pitt QB Pickett appeared to have a knee injury in the 1st H and left the field, but he started the 3rd qrt. Edges for GT - FD 22-16, TY 386-335 (5.4-6.2 ypp), RY 320-138 (5.7-4.5 ypc). Duke scored 2 Def TDs. With a strong 4th qrt by Baylor the TY and FDs were even, but Duke jumped out early leading HT 23-0. BU cut it to 10 twice in the 2nd H before Duke pulled away again. 40-27 F. BU did miss 2 FGs. Harris 12-30-174-3-0-14-83 leading rusher. Brewer/McClendon combined 24-42-270-1-1 and BU QBs were #1-2 rushers combined 18-83-2TD.

Virginia jumped out fast scoring 1p 18y after an Ohio fumbled then led 35-7 before OU scored two TDs off short field to cut it 35-21, but UVA drove with under a minute left to get a FG. 38-21 HT. OU cut it to 38-28 in the 4th, but UVA added a 77y TD pass to put the game away. 45-31 F. FD 23-13, TY 552-364 (9.0-6.0 ypp), RY 173-118 (5.6-3.9 ypc). UVA lost 3 fumbled, OU lost 2.

Louisville escapes 20-17. WKU led 14-0 with the second TD coming after LV was SOD at their own 32. 14-3 HT. LV scored on both drives to open the 2nd H making it 14-13. WKU extended the lead to 17-13 in the 4th, but LV took their first lead with 5min left 20-17. WKU would be SOD and miss a 51y FG as time expired, their second FG miss of the game. Both of LV’s FGs were kicked from the W06. WKU edge 26-17 FD, 428-292 TY (5.3-4.9 ypp), 53-18% 3rd down. QB Pass was benched for Cunningham who went 10-18-88-0-0, leading rusher 21-129. Shanely started for WKU 22-33-240-1-0.
 
Big Ten

Indiana and Ball State each took their opening drives for short FGs…3-3. IU then capped a 12p 69y drive to lead 10-3 and IU returned a punt 86y for a 17-3 lead. 24-3 HT. Ball State D was more aggressive in the 2nd H and after IU’s first 3rd qrt drive, the Hoosiers went to Fr QB Penix who was not as effective. After Ramsey led the way in the 1st H, IU leaned on the running game in the 2nd H. 38-10 F. IU only had 114-109 RY edge in the 1st H and finished with a 255-204 RY edge (5.8-5.2 ypc). TY 457-347 (6.0-5.2 ypp) for IU. IU D was in the backfield a lot harassing Neal with 3 sacks and 5 QBH. Ramsey 20-27-173-0-0, #2 rusher 43y TD. Penix 4-5-29-0-0. Scott 18-114-2TD. Penn State led 21-7 1st qrt and 28-10 HT. 49-10 3rd qrt and 63-10 F. An INT handed Kent St 3 of their pts. 26-18 FD and 643-221 TY (9.2-2.9 ypp) for PSU. PSU D 7 sacks. McSorley 11-22-229-2-1. Sanders 14-86. Barrett 20-38-176-1-0

Michigan punted first two poss only gaining 30 yards then threw INT near the goaline on their 3rd poss. UM finally scored, but SMU tied it on a 50y TD pass! Just 21-7 HT. UM scored on every poss of the 2nd H (incl pick-six), but SMU would actually get 16p 87y and 12p 80y TD drives as well. SMU’s final poss was SOD at M19. 45-20 F. SMU had 22-21 FD edge. Minnesota won with efficient O and great D and ST while Miami Ohio was more folly. On Minn’s first TD drive they faced 3rd-and-21, they got 20 then converted 4th-and-1. Mia QB Ragland lost a fumble when bringing his arm back untouched. Min later kicked 44y FG to lead 10-0 2nd qrt. It was 10-3 when Mia RB tripped over QBs feet in EZ for a safety. Min would down 4 punts inside the 20 and more importantly 3 inside the 10, 2 inside the 3 yard line to maintain a great field position edge all game. Right before HT Min faced 3rd-and-17 at own 25 and gained 35y on a screen pass on their way to a TD with 1min left in the 1st H. 19-3. Min DB baited on a wheel route and got an INT ret’d to the 12, three plays later it was 26-3. The teams traded TOs then late 4th Min fumbled at the Mia22. 26-3 F. Iowa led 21-0 HT and extended to 38-0 before UNI scored 2 4th qrt TDs. 38-14 F. Iowa had 545-228 (6.7-3.9) TY edge and about 150 of UNI’s yards came on their final 3 drives. Stanley 23-28-309-2-1. Easley 10-103-TD.

Ohio St opened with a FG and TCU missed one. TCU QB Robinson fumbled and OSU recovered in EZ for D TD. 10-0. 42y pass and D PI set up TCU for their first TD. 10-7. Ohio St punted twice and TCU ripped a 93y TD run to lead 14-10. Ohio St would end the 1st H making and missing a FG. 14-13. With good starting field position, TCU drove 3p 52y to lead 21-13! Then the wheels fell off the Frog wagon. OSU got a 63y TD pass 21-19 (2 pt no good). OSU then INT’d a shuffle pass and ran 28y for their 2nd D TD of the game and the lead 26-21. TCU had a trick KO ret drawn up that worked for a TD, but the lateral was clearly an illegal forward pass. A punt was blk’d and OSU was in the EZ 2 plays later for a 33-21 lead with OSU scoring 3 TDs in like 4 minutes. TCU would hit a 51y TD pass to make it 33-28 end of 3rd qrt. OSU drove 8p 75y for the 40-28 lead. No pts would be scored in the final 12-1/2 minutes although OSU got to the TCU 9 after an INT before taking knees. 40-28 F. OSU 29-22 FD, 526-511 TY (6.6-6.7 ypp). TCU was 46%-33% 3rd down conv. OSU was +3 TOs. Haskins 24-38-344-2-0. Dobbins 18-121. Robinson 24-40-308-1-2. Anderson 12-154-2TD (93 on 1 play). Kansas opened with a FG, then got a 31y pick-six and would later get another pick-six. KU also had TD runs of 59, 52 and 55 yards. KU led 31-14 HT. 55-14 F. RU’s 1st five O possessions were punt, INT, FUM, FUM, INT. One of Rutger’s TDs was a 64y blk’d FG return. Rutgers only had one drive greater than 50y all game. KU +6 TOs. TY 544-274 (7.5-4.3 ypp) for KU.

Oklahoma led 10-0, but ISU tied 10-10. OU would get back up 24-10, but ISU kept cutting into it and OU would respond to maintain a 2 score lead throughout. ISU was INT’d at the O33 with 1min left. OU had 24-20 FD, 519-447 TY (7.6-6.9 ypp), 171-87 RY (4.4-3.0 ypc). ISU was 2-of-3 4th down. Most of the FGs were short, OU kicked 21, 31 and 42y FGs – ISU kicked 34 and 21y FGs. Oklahoma State blk’d two punts, the first broke a 7-7 tie and the later extended the lead to 34-14. In the 1st H Boise missed a FG from the O9 and was SOD at the O32. 17-7 HT. OSU came out with a FG, Boise got a TD…20-14. OSU scored a TD and then Boise went 3-and-out before the second blk’d punt. 34-14. Boise scored on a 4th and goal and OSU kicked a FG from the B6. 37-21 early 4th qrt. Boise would be sacked 3x in the 4th and OSU added a late TD…44-21 F. BSU 23-19 FD. OSU 422-414 TY (6.5-4.8 ypp), 174-34 RY (4.6-1.1 ypc). OSU D got 7 sacks (Boise D 3). Both teams were 50%+ 3rd down conv. Cornelius 15-26-243-1-0, 41y rushing 2TD. Hill 15-123-TD. Kansas State led 27-7 HT and extended it to 41-7 end of 3rd qrt. KSt’s three 4th qrt poss only netted 15 yards while UTSA went 12p 57y for FG, then after a fumbled went 1p 10y for TD to make it just 41-17. UTSA’s final drive they were throwing deep into KSt terr with the final time expiring pass being incomplete in the EZ. Alex Bowman had the 6th 600y passing game in Texas Tech history (Big Xlll single game Fr record). WR Antoine Wesley set the school record with 261y receiving. Houston had a 7 pt lead off and on in the 1st H until TT scored back-to-back near the end of the half to lead 35-28. Hou tied 35-35 out of the half, but it was all TT from there with leads of 42-35, 49-35, 56-42, 63-42 and 63-49 F. Hou was SOD at the TT08 once and near midfield twice. TT 36-28 FD, 704-635 TY (7.0-6.9 ypp) edges. Bowman 43-59-605-5-0. Henry 24-111-4TD. Wesley 13rec-261-3TD. High 7rec-120. King 30-51-431-5-0, 47y rushing w/ TD. Stevenson 9rec-177-2TD. USC jumped out 7-0 on 9p 75y drive. Texas kicked 20y FG. 7-3. SC then went 8p 53y for a 14-3 lead. UT got a 47y TD pass on 3rd down to make it 14-10. After an INT at midfield, UT added another FG. 14-13. SC was SOD at the T3 for one turning point. Another was a would-be safety on Ehlinger that was ruled he got out of the EZ, but upon review it appeared his leg was down, but replay didn’t overturn the call. SC then roughed the UT punter. UT would punt again but it did help field position some. After a 13y SC punt UT was set up at midfield with 2min left and were able to kick a 46y FG as time expired to lead 16-14 HT. UT D dominated in the 2nd H. USC could only gain about 110 yards in the 2nd H while Horns were going 10p 74y, blk’d SC FGA TD return, 8p 50y for three TDs. 37-14 F. UT 25-16 FD, 394-317 TY (4.8-5.0 ypp). Thanks to 3 sacks and 10.5 TFL SC was held to negative 5y rushing! Ehlinger 15-33-223-2-0, 35y rushing w/ TD. Watson 18-72. Old Dominion at Charlotte was moved to late afternoon Thursday from Saturday. ODU went 3-and-out twice to open, UNCC drove 8p 61y for 7-0 lead. Then UNCC fumbled a punt and it took ODU 5p to go 16y with a 4th down conversion for them to score a TD, xpt was blk’d. 7-6. UNCC kicked 42 and 36 yard FGs to lead 13-6. ODU drove 8p 75y for TD and curiously opted to go for 2 when xpt would’ve tied, they did have their first xpt blk’d, still just a strange decision. 2pt no good. 13-12 HT UNCC led. ODU came out with a couple 20y plays and took the lead 18-13 (2pt no good). UNCC would have two 70+ TD drives while ODU was going 3-and-out punt, INT, INT. 28-18. ODU scored a TD with 3min left (xpt good), UNCC recovered the onside kick and killed the clock. 28-25 F. UNCC edges FD 27-16, TY 373-338 (4.7-6.0 ypp), RY 171-123 (3.7-4.4 ypc). UAB scored TDs on 2 of their first 3 drives 14-0 and was also INT’d in the EZ after an 86y drive. Tulane cut it to 14-7, but UAB ret’d a fumble after a sack for a 21-7 HT lead. TU was also SOD at the UAB25. The teams traded INTs right before HT. UAB had over 100 more yards in the 1st H. TU scored first in the 3rd…21-14, UAB kicked FG and TU scored again…24-21 UAB. UAB was SOD at T36 and TU tied on a 40y FG early 4th qrt. 24-24. UAB took that next poss 13p 93y for TD with just over 2min left in the game. TU fumbled again on a sack from the UAB30. They got the ball back after using all 3 TOs and Tulane's final drive ended on a sack as time expired from the UAB38. UAB D had 6 sacks! (Tulane 0). Arkansas opened the game punt, INT, punt, INT, punt. NT drove 7p 44y for TD after an INT, 4p 1y for FG after INT, and had a crafty punt return TD that everyone has probably seen by now. 17-0 NT led! AR cut into it 17-10. But AR then threw another INT which NT converted into a 2p 34y TD drive. AR missed a FG and NT drove 8p 80y for a 31-10 HT lead! AR opened the 3rd qrt with another INT then punted on next 4 poss gaining only 22y combined on those, then 2 more INTs, one of which was ret’d for a TD. With all the short fields and non-offensive TDs, AR actually had a 20-18 FD and NT only outgained them 376-336 (5.0-4.4 ypp). All told AR threw 6 INTs (-5 TO for game). Both teams were 25% or worse on 3rd down. NT D had 5 sacks (AR 2). Fine 24-45-281-1-0. Kelley 16-35-185-0-4. Noland 4-7-25-0-1.

FAU led 29-0 1st qrt and 36-14 HT. 49-28 F. Nearly 50% of Buthune Cookman’s yards came on their final 3 drives. FD 27-16, TY 559-332 (6.1-5.7 ypp) for FAU. FAU was only 5-of-15 3rd down, but went for 4th down 8x!! They converted 7-of-8!! Robison 16-27-171-1-2, 42y rushing. Whyte 15-100, Singletary 19-84-5TD. FAU missed a 48y FG.

Last year FIU set the school record for most points scored in a game vs UMass, 63, this year they tied it. FIU scored 42 1st H pts on 360y. 42-10 HT. UMass scored first in the 3rd qrt, but FIU got a punt ret TD and a pick-six to make it 56-16. 63-24 F. FD 32-24, TY 536-423 (7.1-6.4 ypp), RY 329-199 (6.2-5.9 ypc). Ford was injured on a sack/fumble in the 1st qrt. Comis led 2 scoring drives and was later replaced with Michael Curtis. It seemed as if Comis could’ve returned but was held out in the blowout. Morgan went the whole way for FIU 16-23-207-2-1. Phillips 16-117-2TD, Maxwell 18-104-2TD. Curtis 8-15-158-1-2, Comis 5-12-60-0-0, Ford 2-5-6-0-0. Young 13-83, Fredricks 7-74.

Army won their 10th home game in a row defeating Hawaii. UH scored quickly to open keyed by a 50y pass to lead 7-0 under 2min into the game. Army went 3-and-out, but UH was sacked on 4th down from the A29. Army tied on a drive that featured a 63y pass…7-7. UH went 3-and-out. Army took the lead on a 14p 64y drive that saw 4 3rd down conversion…14-7. UH tied, but Army responded with a 48y TD run…21-14. UH went 3-and-out again. Army had a 27y FG blk’d at the end of the 1st H. Army had two drives deep into UH territory that were hurt by illegal chop block penalties and Army ended up punting on both. UH went 3-and-out for the third time in a scoreless 3rd qrt. In the 4th Army converted 4th down twice on their way to a 12p 73y TD drive…28-14. Ursua caught an 80y TD pass scoring in just :13 seconds…28-21. Army drove 11p 47y and were SOD 4th-and-1 at the H28 with 3min left. UH drove to the A11,but ended with 3 straight incompletions. Army TY edge 465-362 (6.1-8.0 ypp). Zero turnovers. Hopkins 6-10-162-0-0, leading rusher 20-110-2TD. McDonald 20-32-321-2-0, 19y rushing. Ursua 6-123-2TD.

Notre Dame opened with a 26y FG. Vanderbilt did not cross midfield on their first 4 drives and ND built a 16-0 lead. Shurmur completed a 1st down throw 20y to the ND1, but receiver was stripped of the ball and ND recovered in the EZ for touchback. Vandy took over with just 1min left and drove to the ND3, but with just :08 left, after 1 shot at the EZ, they had to settle for a FG. 16-3 HT. ND had 279-190 1st H yard edge. NDs’ O sputtered in the 2nd H, gaining just 25y on their first two poss. Vandy missed a 43y FG then threw an INT on 1st down from the N36 for a touchback (second ND forced TO near the goal line). Vandy finally got a TD off a 5p 47y drive to make it 16-10 end of 3rd qrt. ND responded 11p 75y with a 4th down conv for a 22-10 lead (2pt no good). ND was called for D PI on 4th down and Vandy went 9p 75y, 22-17 mid 4th qrt. ND missed a 32y FG. Vandy was again aided by an ND D PI call on 4th down and found themselves at the N37 1st down 2min left. They ran twice and incomplete on 3rd down set up another 4th down and Lipscomb appeared to make a leaping catch with ND defender on him but when he hit the ground the ball popped out incomplete. 22-17 F. FD even, Vandy outgained ND with a 420-380 TY edge (6.0-5.1 ypp). ND rushing edge 245-94 (5.1-3.4 ypc). Vandy -3 TOs. Wimbush 13-23-122-0-0 #2 rusher 19-84-TD. Book 3-3-13-1-0. Jones 17-118. Wisconsin and BYU both punted to open, UW drove 8p 61y for 7-0 lead. BYU RB Canada busted a 44y run, 3 plays later the game was tied..7-7. Missouri drove for a FG and Purdue responded with a TD, 7-3. That would be PU’s only lead of the game. It was 27-10. PU scored 2 TDs in the final 5min of the half to make it 27-24. PU came out 3rd qrt with a 14p 63y drive for a 29y FG on a drive Blough found Rondale Moore for three 3rd down conversions, tied 27-27. A 52y run keyed a MU TD drive, and after PU was SOD at the M48, MU kicked a 31y FG…37-27. PU then missed a 49y FG. MU converted 4th-and-1 near midfield, but intentional grounding backed them up and had to punt. A 74y pass that bounced off PU WR as he was hit by two MU defenders and TE Hopkins was right-place-right-time to catch the deflection. Rondale Moore went the final 7y to make the game 37-34 12min left. MU was set to punt from the P35, but PU was offside giving them a 1st down, 4 plays later Lock threw an INT at the P10. PU took that 12p 81y, appeared to have the go-ahead TD pass, but it was ruled incomplete and a 26y FG tied it…37-37. Troy QB got a 57y run and aided by 2 Neb personal foul penalties went 5p 80y…17-0. 33y pass and 21y run keyed a Neb 5p 65y TD…17-7 HT. Troy fumbled punt and Neb was set up at T08, but had to kick a 23y FG…17-10. Troy was SOD and Neb drove for 1st down at T21, kicked a 32y FG…17-13 late 3rd. Mid 4th, Troy would convert 3rd-and-9 3x (once with D PI) on their way to 10p 62y TD drive…24-13. Neb converted 4th down and went 11p 75y for 24-19 game (2pt no good). With 3min left Neb kicked deep. Neb forced a 3-and-out and Neb had a chance at their own 28. 2 plays later they were INT’d and Troy killed the clock. Neb had 22-12 FD, 364-253 TY (4.9-4.6 ypp), 187-143 RY (3.9-4.2 ypc). Jones was about to be sacked and flipped the ball forward, first ruled a fumble and USA ran it in for TD, but they ruled it an incomplete pass. Jones was then picked off by Thompson again and USA ran down the sideline to the T04 1:44 left. TxSt had 2 timeouts. USA was tkl’d for short losses 2 out of 3 plays. Facing 4th down from the T03 they go for it instead of kicking a FG, TD Jags, but they were called for O PI. Now back at the T18 4th and goal, they still go for it and throw a fade into the EZ which is caught for a TD, xpt puts them up 10 with :33 left…TxSt got the the SB43 when time ran out. 41-31 F. TU ended the 1st H with a fumble and they started the 2nd H with a fumble as well. ASU would drive 6p 42y for the 20-7 lead. TU then threw an INT for their third straight poss with a TO which ASU ret’d 53y for D TD…27-7. When TU was done turning it over they went 16p 70y for a 22y FG, 11p 81y TD, 5p 40y for a 38y FG.
