Week 16 teaser that will break me

askias

Pretty much a regular
Teasers are bad, we all know this. And yet how can I not be sucked in by Denver -1/Seattle -1/SF -2.5?

Am I crazy to love this?

I keep trying to knock it down, but I can't. Denver is on the road, but they are coming off a loss and HOU just got pasted at Indy. Can you really see DEN losing two in a row? Especially this game?

Arizona is a tough team fighting for its playoff life, but SEA is the best home team in the league and can clinch HFA with this game. They are certainly not overlooking AZ and there might be no Fitzgerald as well.

Atlanta could catch last year in a bottle for one game, but they are on the road at SF as they close down Candlestick Park on MNF, plus Atlanta struggled mightily to beat Washington even with 7 turnovers!

If this sucks bad, please help me to see the holes. Thanks.

im on it too. problem is that the whole world will be also. but ur right, the books hands may be tied on this one. what can they really do to prevent it without giving the underdog too much value for sharps to pound?

I have included Denver -.5 and Pats +12.5 in a three team 10 pt teaser. But, did not include SHawks and was probably in error.

My thought was a concern that this is a division game, Zona in a 'must win' situation and game not a necessity to Shawks...so since nobody is perfect could see a surprise in Seattle. By the same token I was not confident enuf to include Zona @ +20.5 either

I wondered about the Seattle motivation too bones, but then there is this story. I think they know SF is a likely winner this week so they have to get it done themselves to lock in the top seed and HFA.

[h=1]Carroll: Loss to 49ers could be Seahawks “best scenario”[/h] Posted by Curtis Crabtree on December 16, 2013, 10:59 PM EST

APRarely would a loss to a bitter rival be considered a good thing.
However, in the Seattle Seahawks’ quest to earn their second Super Bowl berth in franchise history, the team may ultimately look back on their 19-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers as a blessing in disguise.

The Seahawks had won seven straight games before dropping their second game of the season against the 49ers in Week 14. If Seattle had beat the 49ers, they would already have wrapped up the top seed in the NFC and home field advantage throughout the playoffs with two weeks to go in the regular season. With a first round bye also in hand, Seattle would have been forced to go nearly a month between playing games without anything tangible to play for.

“It would have been a different challenge,” head coach Pete Carroll said Monday. It would have been an entirely different challenge for us mentally; for the coaching staff and for the players as well. I mentioned it last week that this could be the best scenario that you have to stay in it and keep battling. I’m more concerned about losing the edge that we’ve gained and it’s taken months and months and months to get here, and then all of sudden you kick into a month mode where it could be different.”

Carroll said he would have gladly welcomed the challenge if they’d been able to wrap up the division and NFC’s top seed already but now there’s more on the table for Seattle to accomplish. Any Seattle win or tie over the last two weeks or San Francisco loss or tie will wrap up the number one seed and home field advantage for the Seahawks.

“This is much more of the same, kind of like Groundhog Day all over again, here we go again,” Carroll said. “There’s nothing wrong with that, we know how to get prepared for games, we know what we’re trying to get done, and the whole routine and the emphasis on every game is a championship game has been right on it for us. Here we come this week and there’s nothing new, which is a good thing.”

Love this teaser and have been thinking about it all say. Good news is 2 of the teams are at home and all of them have ample motivation to win. I hit it already because I don't know how not to take those 3 teams in these games and situations at a pick.

I'm going to be giving this teaser out on the radio tonight as one of my plays..

Let's also remember that Matt Ryan stats drop off dramatically on the road and on grass.. Texans have lost 12 in a row, Denver had 2 extra days to prepare and get right. Seattle has NOT lost a home game since 2011.
