  • Big Sky
  • MEAC
  • Patriot
  • Pioneer

FD has Tenn Tech +24.5 which is somewhat appealing to me with Kentucky coming off the high of that demolition of the Gators and having a huge game with Vandy on deck.

Yeah I wish Tenn Tech was more at the top of their game right now. I would think they have potential if they can regain the juice they played with back in September.

Just looked, 22.5 now. Would be fun to know how much $ it takes to move an early FBS line. FCS-FCS are very sensitive as we know. FCS-FBS probably doesn't take much either

Most likely more than fcs as I just checked and my max wager limit on that one is $1237.50.

Maybe that is all we are getting for now?

I took Montana State ML for 1/2, LH-Colg Ov, UTC and NCCU ML

A little worried about the new UTC QB making first road start at Mercer, but am playing on UTC for the fact they have been playing well, but moreso against Mercer off that WCU game which had to be draining. Want to fade WCU off that game too. Mercer clinched conference and playoff, not like they are going to stop playing and trying, just like the situation for UTC.

Just bumping this up for no particular reason. I have yet to explore any of the games for this week.

Weber State is the third coaching change in FCS. 2 of the 3 so far were fairly predictable this summer in Samford and Weber given the direction those schools were on and the expectations for what they were going to look like this year.

UK down to 20.5. Tennessee Tech can probably step-up and play with a lower rung SEC team - not like I am particularly good at knowing when these FCS guys can and vs who. But TTU's schedule has been super soft, they haven't even played any other good FCS teams to know how they might react when lined up across from superior athletes to what they have. From a TTU perspective, I do like Bobby Wilder and his experience in FBS and vs the FCS to try and prepare them. Like sleepy said, this game does not help their cause if they win and they will not be be penalized in any significant way if they lose and they do have real aspirations and goals in the FCS playoffs. I still do not think they will rest players. That essentially is a white flag and everyone are competitors, everyone likes the chance to prove themselves in big moments and for the players and coaches on their team, I certainly think they will try to compete and win vs sitting players. Now if it starts going south on them, then yeah, maybe they choose protecting players at that point.

So maybe we get some lines tonight? It's different each week.

Sorry to not partake last night. I was sleeping on the couch. Increasing falling behind on all things football. Hope to have some things to talk about later today. I am excited for the weekend and the games.

I am not sure what time opens hit as I just randomly woke up at like 2:30am and noticed a couple I wanted were posted but not sure of my lines are good or bad vs opens.

Weird time for the MEAC game tonight

View attachment 104307

There's good and bad to having FCS on traditional TV. ESPN dictating what time this huge game in the conference race to start should have a pretty negative impact for attendance.

Alright, the week his behind me, let the football weekend begin! I do have some bets, will recount them in my next post.

Thought about brown and Bucknell but didn’t pull the trigger on either. Also considered Duquesne but line is moving other way so will wait and see. Also considered Youngstown but line moved pretty quickly so missed the 18.5. Hope one of you guys got it if you wanted it.

When I don't really know what to do and expect a close game, I just ML the fav and take dog +pts.

That is what I did in SC State at NCCU, although I have SC St at +5.5 and not 7 (was actually 7.5 for a bit this morning). I do like NCCU to win a little more than SC State to cover, but not a bunch. Neither one of these teams are as good as last year, which SC State was expected to take a step back, but NCCU was supposed to elevate to the top again. Then they lost, kind of bad, to Delaware State at home. They have both taken care of most of the bad teams they've played, or had comfortable leads and then the bad team might've made the score look a little closer. And then each have their head scratcher games. SC State plays Del State next week, so if they win then the MEAC will be decided next week. If NCCU wins they are still alive for a share of the conference title if SC State wins next week as well. Should be good game, although I am much less familiar with both of these teams than I was last year.

I took the 14.5 with UTC at open based on their recent play partially, but also as a fade of Mercer off the WCU game. Mercer-WCU was one of the games of the week last week and while I did not watch at all (no action, no TV capacity for it), I heard that on WCU's would-be walk-off FG at the end, the stadium announcer said the kick was good (when it wasn't) and that the WCU fans and players stormed the field in celebration only to learn that they in fact lost. So the other half of this equation is ETSU +4.5 at WCU. ETSU has been a disappointment this year, but if they play their best they could win this game as they came up just short vs multiple good teams earlier this year. So I am expecting both Mercer and WCU to not be at their best following last week, but it isn't completely that, there are some qualities about the opponents that I like.

I did fall victim to betting on Norfolk State a few times this year (pun, haha get it) and I'm pretty sure I never won on them. They have actually been playing better the last 2 weeks vs DSU and NCCU. NCCU was generally up on them by 10-14 pts, but relative to expectations, Norfolk was ok in that game before losing by 3 and outgained NCCU 403-350 (6.4-4.7). Then they pushed Del State pretty hard. Morgan just pushed Del State hard too. I can't figure out why Morgan, who has not beat a Dl team yet this year would be road chalk here. Their D played good vs Del State last week, congratulations, it was the first time in weeks their D did well.

Also played Davidson, just thinking these bad teams getting pts vs other not good teams is too much to let pass. Marist covered DD spread last week vs Stetson 41-13, I say do it again. Davidson is on a 3-0 ATS run and beat a Hurst-less PC team last week, but that shouldn't cloud the fact that teams do get better and worse throughout the season and right now Davidson has been on the better side. Tied often with San Diego before losing by 12, led Morehead 24-13 4Q before losing by 4 and then the PC win last week. I respect the improvement Marist has this season in year 2 of staff, but they did lose to Morehead just a few weeks ago so it's not like they are immune from an off game to a lesser team.

Took Columbia just because I can not accept Brown as an Ivy road fav. 0-1 already this year straight up in that role and weren't fav last year at Ivy then in 2023 Brown was again 0-1 straight up vs Ivy as road favorite. Brown has some O, but they certainly don't have the D. Columbia has the D, don't have much O, but think they should have enough here.

Merrimack, took them plus the pts. I do like Sacred Heart's team actually, but Merrimack has been pretty tough in every game but one or two. One of those were last week losing at New Haven! Nobody loses to New Haven, well except for Albany. But Merrimack lost in OT to Colgate week prior, played better vs Harvard then I thought they would or could in terms of sustaining drives on O and tightening up on D in the RZ. Were in a close game with Maine before that. As with some of the others, envision a close game here and taking the pts with the dog.

Princeton +10.5 is another. Yale is better, but moments of their last 2 games make one question how much. Princeton outgained Dartmouth 408-289 (5.0-5.9), but couldn't overcome two INTs on their first 2 possession that set up Dart for a short field TD and then the other was deep in Dart terr.

I know Holy Cross has been terrible, this might however be the first time ever (?) Bucknell has been favored vs them. Never knew the injury or status of Rucker, they finally won without him last week. Don't know if beating Fordham is reason enough to be optimistic here though. 37 pts, pretty good. On just 265 ttl yards (4.2), huh? blk'd punt TD, 23y drive after fum, 14y drive after Ford SOD makes for 21 fairly easy points. Not like Holy Cross is any kind of good, they're not. HC at +3.5 was a better thought than at +2.5

Campbell at home, they have had some close games (like last week vs W&M lost in OT) and the UNH game was closer than final. NC A&T only beat them because of 2 special team TDs. Elon on 4 or 5 game losing streak? Assuming they must be kind of lost right now, Campbell home finale, think they will be motivated to bag a home conference win before next week. Elon, who knows what you get with them.

I have not been much of a FAMU fan this year, but they are beating the teams they are supposed to recently and Alabama A&M might have the worst O in FCS the last 3 weeks (ttl yards 204, 175 and 143) and the D has yielded 600+ twice in that span. Not like this FAMU O is anywhere near as good as the teams that did that vs AAM, but this really feels like a cheap price for FAMU to win vs a team that has zero O.

Similar vein as tonight, I took Sac St ML and Idaho +pts. Not sure what happens, but I guess I like a close game that can go either way. Probably like Sac State to win more.

I did take the Drake ML. Not like they are that great, but should be better vs Dayton. Dayton off bye and Drake off tough loss that puts their Pioneer championship hopes in jeopardy. But Dayton doesn't do much on O and Drake is just a solid all around team. Cheap price for them to just win.

I also took Saint Francis. Just unloading on all these bad teams this week. In 7 games vs full-time FCS members (not counting the transitioning New Haven). LIU is avg just 264 ypg in 7 FCS games. And they don't score much. Sure, 29 last week, well 7 of those were scored by the D. LIU's D is fine, but all these NEC Os are some degree of bad. This is Saint Francis' home finale and also their final home game as a Dl member (dropping to Dlll next year). They have been a good fade team....except for the last 2 weeks. Could've won both, lost vs Wagner at the gun and lost to Mercyhurst :15 left. 13.5 here is a lot I think.

Georgetown is now 2-27 straight up in November the last 10 years? I will cautiously take Fordham +pts as just on principle of playing against Gtown as a November favorite, but I do acknowledge that they have played some decent ball vs equal-ish teams.

So that is what I got. Maybe about 20 bets heading into Saturday is a season low for the year outside of week 0. And most are for half units. Just not real confident. Losing weeks 2 of the last 4 and the only reason I finished up last week was because I hit 2 parlays. Weeks 1-7 were some of the best returns I can remember in a season. This year, whether it is the lines, or the teams being less consistent (whether that is consistently good or consistently bad) or my predictive ability, it has been more difficult the last 4 weeks and with spending less time and all the distractions going on, just being more careful as the season winds down.

MGM is the only one I see with any live options, but every time I put something in my bet slip they lock it before I can add amount

I'm interested in The Citadel. Wofford was only up 10-7 on VMI halftime last week. Won 52-10. Ok, big 2H. But before that, Samford outgained them by 160. Everybody outgained Wofford before that, well except for Norfolk. But point being, this is not some kind of good team. It's a team that certainly is better now than it was in September. But so is The Citadel. I like to compare spreads vs common opponents. Take WCU, they were -10 at Wofford mid-season. Two weeks later they were -10.5 at The Citadel. So that says Wofford and The Citadel are even. Citadel was -16.5 at home vs VMI and Wofford was -11.5 at VMI, adjust for home field and that says these teams are even. Now the VMI result was quite different, both won but not in the same way at all, and maybe that plays into the thinking on the Wofford PR and spread. And Wofford beat Furman as a 1.5 pt home dog while Citadel lost as a 3pt road dog. Comparing the spreads vs common opponents says that this Wofford line is high. However, looking at how those games played out, that does tilt Wofford's way as they had better outcomes vs those teams. Will wait and see which way the line moves I think.

Support for Drake, from the Pioneer League weekly notes:

Drake has won 23 of its last 25 PFL games, and the Bulldogs are 13-0 on the road and 11-2 at home over their previous 23 PFL games.

QB's Reagan Andrew for Butler and Presbyterian's Colin Hurst either were injured or DNP last week. Maybe sleepy knows if there is any update on either?

MB damn near had a full offering of Dll games up for hours and now can't figure out how to get the FCS games posted. "These people" - something a friend and I used to say 'these people'

Is it seriously that hard to do?

International basketball live games must be hard to manage and diverts time away. Don't know, like I said, would be interested to know what it is like to work at a place like that.

They are probably making sure they don't have a bad number compared to what other books have posted, which is what I am waiting to do, take something at MB on an old line that might've moved elsewhere

Bunch of alt totals from them the last few weeks, not much on the alt sides anymore

I am so glad that I am not dependent on Bovada, while I do like they buy pts option and I do like that they tend to let the games hang a minute after kickoff, they are slow on the releases. Late in getting them up today per usual, I took Columbia there bought to +4 this morning and then they take all the lines down

Can't use DK for MLs anymore so have started doing those at MGM. MLs are the one thing you find large differences in the prices. None of the offshores I used offer FCS MLs. DKs usually has the best ML odds, MGM is close

FD Norfolk +164
BR Norfolk +175
HR Norfolk +185
MGM Norfolk +200
DK Norfolk +205

It also sucks that MB is holding back all the FCS games after 1:00 .... these people...

Actually, a bunch of these pussies are. Bet Rivers, Bovada, MyBookie. FCS games are so hard to find on MGM you have to use the team name search just to get the game
