well, last couple of months have been pretty rough as my mom had been pretty sick for awhile. She past away on the 13th and I haven't been around the site much since then... anyway, I don't really want to turn this into a downer thread and I don't want to use any excuses for my bad run the last 4 or 5 weeks, but at the same time, I also wanted to bring it up so people can know to tail me cautiously.... and I also haven't updated my record, but I will once I get a chance...
anyway,
so far today:
Houston @ Cleveland OVER 50
3.3 to win 3
Three weeks in a row, Cleveland has allowed at least 27 points while the Texans have scored at least 27 points in six of their last eight games.... Cleveland ranks 28th against the run giving up 149 yards per game. In their last six games, the Browns have allowed over 180 yards four times. The other two teams ran for 113 and 123 yards... and those are both teams that have had problems running the ball (Jacksonville and Denver).
On the flip, Houston has allowed more points than every team except St. Louis and Detroit. Only two offenses have failed to score at least 3 TDs against the Texans and the Browns are starting to put things together offensively. They've scored 23 plus points four games in a row, and they've scored 30 and 29 points in Brady Quinn's two starts.
NY Jets @ Tennessee UNDER 40.5
3.3 to win 3
These teams met late last season (although a lot has changed since then), and the Titans escaped with a 10-6 win over a Jets team completing a 4-12 season. They also played here two years ago (a 23-16 Jets win), and that was a Titans defense that turned out to be one of the worst in the league... gotta go with the numbers here.. I figure if those games didn't go over 40, it be hard to see this one do it with the way Tennessee plays defense this year. Plus I see the Jets still in a high after New England.
will add as I go..
gl to all..
