Week 11 What Are We Learning

Man. Who comes out of the AFC amongst the 4 obvious? I haven’t seen the updated odds, but If I were to rank them in terms of chances I guess I’d go

KC
Buffalo a very close 2nd
Baltimore
Pittsburgh a very close 4th

Despite the results today? How about everyone else?

I will be the first in line to fade Pittsburgh in the playoffs…it’s almost a guarantee for me in their first game.

This team is a farce. Credit to them for stockpiling wins though.

But they have FOUR games they’ve won with 1 offensive TD or less.

Today is the second game this year they won scoring ZERO touchdowns…they kicked 6 FG today and in the Atlanta opener.

Winning these games is black magic voo doo shit Tomlin is pulling.

But damn…that guy can coach. These were supposed to be 2 washed up QB he had and he’s got them at 8-2. Insane

I agree. But the fact is, despite the lack of touchdowns, they’re winning. They’ve beaten some pretty good teams and just pretty much shut down a powerful Balty offense. Trust me, I used to be in your camp and was a huge doubter, but they keep proving me wrong.

What’s up with the bipolar nature of fg kickers this year. We either have kickers making 50+ yarders consistently, or normally reliable kickers missing routine kicks routinely

I guess we’d have to put Chargers, Broncos and Texans a notch below these 4?

I hear you. But my point is I don’t care how many of these offensively inept games they win now.

Come January in postseason they’re toast though

I hear this logic in March Madness. But why can't teams win Tony Bennett-style in the NFL postseason?

9ers are done if they lose in GB no matter who returns in a few weeks. You could start an all pro team with the guys they were missing in the 4th quarter yesterday before blowing yet another game they were heavily favored live to win. Hua, Ward, Law, Bosa, Hargrave.

If they can squeak out a win vs an average Packers team, @ Buffalo they have zero chance of hanging within 10 points if Bosa doesn't play. I'd lay up to 14 on the alt line with the Bills after a bye week.

They're horrible and have 0 chance of winning a SB.

Steelers? Oh I disagree totally. I think they built perfectly to get to the Sb. I like them being doubted tho, it was fun getting them as dogs to a team they own and at home! Hope everyone fading them in playoffs, I won’t be.

They could definitely win @ home as a 3 seed the first game. They'd be an underdog in that game though with maybe a 40% chance to win.

They'd need help with an upset because I don't see them going to Buffalo and winning and then do it again in KC.

Of course it's all possible but you're looking at a +140, +350, +400 type 3 teamer odds.

Their weakness is at quarterback which in this day & age means they almost assuredly won't reach the Super Bowl, but they're far from horrible. Then again, Nick Foles & Jimmy Garoppolo got there, so who knows. Put any of the top dozen quarterbacks on that team & they have a legit shot at winning it all.

Was cool to see the mafia like wedding line waiting to see Jameis after the Saints victory.
All time favorite. QB2 for me anyday.
How about Taysom Hill? He’ll just fuck around and win you a game. The most unique player in sometime.
The Rizzler is getting teams missing 3 FGs a game with his Special teams majic. 27 and 32 yarders to boot.

Their red zone scoring is atrocious, almost as bad as SFs. Probably their biggest weakness.

If I had a teenage son, early teens, we'd be working on his kicking game daily.

Why not?

There is a need!

Wilson has five pass plays in his arsenal:

1) Naked boot to the right, throwing to tight end (or tuck and run OOB)
2) Moonball shots to left or right sideline (more left than right)
3) Sideways outlet passes to Warren or Najee
4) 45 degree passes thrown just off tackle on either slants or curls to a WR (mostly Pickens). He throws off tackle a lot because with his height he can't see over the line.
5) The only middle of the field target Russell can even see to throw it to is 6'7" Washington

Maybe a screen would be #6 but they don't seem to run those well.

Only #5 has much use in the redzone with the limited field depth and tighter coverage. Russ tried it once and threw a pick.

The Ravens were and still are dead last in passing defense. Pittsburgh got 181 yards through the air. The tape is starting to show things.

The main thing I'm learning this week is the top 10 draft prospects....

That was the 2nd FG over 60 yards from Aubrey that has been taken off the board this season.

Jets officially fired the GM though everyone knew he done for quite awhile. Normally I love a good coach and GM search but I totally expect more incompetents to fill these roles. The rumored names for the next coach have been nothing but disgusting and there hasn't been one name that I would even interview much less hire.

I can’t imagine anyone who would satisfy you would want this job? If I have any options I damn sure not putting myself into this shit show.

Bo Nix is legit. Him and Daniels. Good to see some of these kids might be long timers.

This is turning out to be a fantastic qb draft class that will prob go down as one the better we have seen. Penix could turn out to be a viable starter, I have no clue but it possible.

on ManningCast BB said Dallas is FG threat anytime they cross the 50. I'd say so - he can hit a 67/68 yarder. Amazing leg.

He's not and they've done a great job with Nix but I don't see them as a serious threat.
There was a very small contingent that said Nix and Payton would be a threat. Payton specifically targeted Nix in the draft believe that. I was in the small contingent but they kinda had a rough early go.
Broncos could definitely bump off a team in the playoffs depending on the matchup.

I’m wondering how real the Steelers are. All these teams we are talking about. Can they beat KC and Buffalo? It’s gonna be the matchup. I think Denver can beat Baltimore if they play again.

just played Tampa to win NFC South at +275. Feel it’s good value considering the upcoming schedules of each of the teams…

I don't disagree. The problem is ATL already has the tiebreaker vs TB.

So if ATL finishes 3-3 and ends up 9-8, TB will have to win 6 out of 7 to go 10-7.

But ATL could easily go 2-4. Should beat NYG and Car. Will lose at Minn and Wash. If you give them the loss at home vs LAC, it comes down to the Monday night game in LV.

Will probably learn alot about the Falcons after the bye. They are pretty banged up, but if they play like they did the last 2 weeks, TB probably wins the division.

From watching the losers on espn I am learning that Joe Douglas and his 30-64 record didn't deserve to be fired and that he's a really great talent evaluator.

jerruh hasn't a lost step.
when a local asked jerry about the large contingent of texan fans at att stadium , jerry replied, "well, houston's close to dallas."
sharp as a tack
close enough that it's a leisure ride for texans, far enough to cross some states.

I actually think Steelers have a great chance to go far, we see but I’m buying the setup with Pickens and Williams combined with Russ ability to still throw a pretty deep ball. You damn near gotta keep safeties over the top then warren and Harris can kill yoi underneath. Can those moon balls work in most likely shitty weather? I dunno but right now I see one of the best put together offenses Tomlin had in a long time, you know they gonna bring the d. Ravens damn sure don’t want to see them, and I think they could make an interesting game for kc as well. I lost my ass the 1st week they went to Russ but Tomlin knew what he was doing, the more I see the more I like, even tho it was a little disappointing they couldn’t throw deep on ravens: This Thu night a pretty shitty spot so I’ll prob get blasted when they struggle against browns but putting them in this game after ravens kinda bs.
