I kinda like KC getting 8 points at Denver. I know Peyton is all world but he's injured and that KC defense is going to get after him and test that ankle. Expect a lot of runs and a short passing game to limit the hits on him. I might sound crazy, but the UNDER needs to be looked at. Alex Smith is a great game manager that doesn't turn the ball over much and he'll be able to keep the ball away from PM.

I have a betting rule I never break and that's don't ever bet against NO in the dome. Get the Saints outside in the weather, they're a different team. I'll be playing them at only a FG at home.

As a Chiefs fan Im DEFINITELY worried about getting routed. Need to pressure Manning like Ravens did last year in the title game and like Indy did this year. KC definitely has the personnel to do just that. Defense has been very vanilla for the most part the last 3 weeks with regards to blitzes. Charles will need 150+ and we'll need 5+ sacks of Manning to win. That being said...Chiefs have been prone to the big play and that's what they do. If KC goes down DD early do you want to be backing Alex Smith trying to match scores?

I'll have a couple of teasers or ML parlays with Denver as emotional protection investments....

3 bets placed:

NE +3....Brady as a primetime dog numbers are out of this world
NO -3
Denver/Cincy tease

Saints at home are unreal

NFL is dying. Extremely shitty product right now.

Far from dying.....it's thriving.

Showing that compared to other sports, the NFL is a universe unto its own, at the half-way point in the 2013 season, the National Football League is smashing the competition in the television ratings and overall viewership department.

Currently, NFL games account for the 18 most-watched programs on television since the NFL season kicked off on Sept. 5, as well as 19 of the top 20 (see the chart below). Through Week 9, NBC’s Sunday Night Football accounts for the seven most-watched primetime shows this fall.

In addition, the average NFL game telecast (including broadcast and cable) has drawn 16.8 million viewers (vs. 16.0 million at this point in 2012) – more than double the average primetime viewership (7.5 million) for the big four broadcast networks in the new television season, according to information provided by The Nielsen Company.

The question is, is football becoming so popular on television that fans would rather watch from the comfort of their home rather than pay to see games in-person at stadiums across the country? The NFL has seen attendance drop in five consecutive seasons, and has recently loosened up on the blackout policy in an effort to try and draw more fans to the stadium. Still, the problem the NFL faces is one that the other Big-4 sports would like to have. The NBA, NHL, and MLB would love to have these ratings numbers.

Other notables around NFL ratings:

An NFL game telecast has been television’s most-watched program in each of the season’s first nine weeks (tied with 2012 and up from seven of the first nine weeks in 2011).
NFL games on CBS CBS -0.29%, ESPN , FOX and NBC collectively have averaged 12.9 million viewers making the 2013 season the most-viewed among these four networks through Week 9 since at least 2006.
NBC’s Sunday Night Football is averaging 21.6 million viewers through Week 9 and ranks as the No. 1 show in primetime this television season (Live-Plus-Same-Day viewing) with the seven most-watched primetime shows this fall.
ESPN Monday Night Football is averaging 13.4 million viewers. The Monday Night Football opener (Eagles-Redskins) was the most-watched Week 1 game ever on ESPN with 16.54 million viewers and posted the highest rating ever for a season opener on ESPN (11.8).
Through eight games of its 13-game schedule, NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football is averaging 7.8 million viewers (including over the air stations) – pacing +12% in viewers ahead of its 2012 13-game season average. Jets-Patriots on Thursday Night Football kicked off Week 2 and registered NFLN’s best-ever season-opening telecast with 8.8 million viewers followed by the Week 3 Kansas City Chiefs-Philadelphia Eagles game that was the highest-rated Thursday Night Football telecast in NFLN history (6.0 US HH rating and 9.4 million viewers, not including over-the-air stations).
For the season, NFL games rank as the 18 most-watched TV shows since Labor Day, up from 14 at this point last season, as well as 19 of the top 20. Following are the most-watched programs this fall:

Back to the well with CLEV yet again. Defense is probably best in the division. As long as Weeden is NOT starting, the offense is serviceable enough to keep them in it. CINNCY bad spot off crazy OT loss.

@ProFootballTalk: Dwayne Bowe arrested for speeding, marijuana possession http://t.co/UgkmnyQGLB

Nowhere near the fantasy stud some picked him to be (that's what happens when Alex Smith is your QB), now he is potentially really hurting his team with a distraction and him not even being able to play if suspended.

How does Bowe get arrested for having that small amount of pot on him though? That's ridiculous. I can understand him having to appear in court, and pay a fine or something, but arresting someone for that amount of pot is ludicrous. You can have up to 25g in NYS and they can't arrest you, they can only give you an appearance ticket. Gotta love that war on drugs. Fucking idiots.

Welcome to Missoura!

0% chance he is suspended IMO.....and nothing can happen until court date which is in December. He'll pay a fine.

Richardson sex tape shopped: TMZ is reporting that someone is shopping footage for NFL running back Trent Richardson in a sexual liaison with multiple women. Attempts to reach out for comment from Richardson's camp so far have been unanswered. Richardson was drafted by the Browns but traded to the Colts earlier this season after starting 0-2. (TMZ)

lol

The Saints line seems very odd to me with NO coming off a primetime beatdown and SF coming off a home loss. 9ers offense hasn't show much lately, given that it's very possible the Saints jump out in front how can SF be expected to keep it within three. Shouldn't this line be NO -6?

The way the line is juiced one has to think the Titans keep it close tomorrow. Can't put my money on Fitzpatrick though.

Patriots +9.5/Denver -1
Seems too good to be true.

understatement of the century. That dude is trashola. Colts have performed well off losses, not sure which is worse vs the run but CJ would have to go off....

Bills off easily the most embarrassing performance of the season while the Jets are rested off a huge win.... would be very Bills-like to win this game

How about the under between SF and the Saints? Saints can nullify the running attack of SF by getting a lead. If SF gets a lead they are going to try to shorten the game as much as possible. Niners have a decent secondary. Saints have played four straight overs.

As mentioned the line seems short, at least to me, and if it were going to be a shootout it's difficult to see how SF would keep up. But an ugly 21-20 game definitely suits the Niners better.

god have mercy on your soul if you bet the under on a saints game in NO. im not saying its a bad bet, not at all of course they will have some games go under, but to have to hold your breath every time breesy drops back and heaves one 60 yards in the air...just not my idea of fun.

as for tonights game, the number one rule of thumb comes into play: if you wouldnt play it on a Sunday, dont play it just bc its the only game of the night. Ftiz is crapola for sure, but something seemed off with the Colts last week...not just like they were having a bad game, they just didnt look right

both these teams tonight are in a world of hurt.

You lose to the sheep and get dominated at home like that, there is a reason for it.. AND then they boarded the plane with a bunch of empty seats.

You lose to the winless Jags at home and the disappearing act of your franchise RB (no, not Shonn Greene), there is a reason for.

I hate both teams right now. Colts were fools gold for awhile but their weaknesses and injuries have made them a pretty poor team at this point. They are going to get Luck hurt is what they are gonna do. Expect more of the same tonight. Without Luck this is a 5 win team IMO. With him I'm not sure they get to 8.

Public will be all over Colts in bounceback mode but I don't see it. Just wish they were playing a team I had any confidence in.

Gonna look at it more throughout the afternoon, but I cant find a bettable angle..

Geez, I was about ready to bet the Colts on the bounce. Thanks, tee. Think if Luck picks up his game a little - he's been awful last couple weeks, part of the problem - Colts should win. But what do I know.

Luck is not the problem. The problem is they cant protect him, without Reggie Wayne they have few options, Hilton gets double teamed, you hold the ball, you force plays, you get picked off and eventually you gonna get hurt.. Plus Colts lost several key pieces on back end of defense....they are a mess.. But so are Titans

no interest in tonight's gm for me either....cant say enough how much i hate pep hamilton as the oc of colts and what they trying to do on offense, with wayne gone they lost their ability to mask this shit with him making plays on 3rd down. TY a great talent but wayne was Luck's guy to keep the chains moving...

agree with tee that they are vulnerable and it would be nice if colts were playing a better team tonight but i didnt exactly trust titans with locker and i certainly dont w fitz playing qb.. had to take a side in the ats pool i play in and went indy but in no way do i feel good about it..even the total sux, wanna like the under but id feel lot more comfortable if it was 44-45 instead of 42-43..

does me some good to actually listen to d-wow's "if you wouldnt play it sunday dont play it thu" advice,,even tho it rarely happens..

Yes, a very awkward game tonight. Both teams in a world of hurt.

Last time these two teams played on a Thursday night was back in 2010, a 30-28 win to the Colts (Tenny scored with 0 seconds left at the end of the 4th to 'moose' Colts bettors) - coincidentally the Titans had their 2nd string going in that game as well, the check-down king and casual drunk Kerry Collins up against Peyton Manning. Indy was an 80%+ consensus fave in that game also.

2.5 home dogs are 16-6 ATS since 2007.

Could easily envision a similar scoreline, 31-30 or something like that.

Lang on the Titans for 60 dimes.

Squares at my book on Colts with the Over. Small sample size, but when they bark I listen. Lang on TENN is not good, though. I might have to suck it up and watch the NBA, not the NFL tonight.

no interest in tonight's gm for me either....cant say enough how much i hate pep hamilton as the oc of colts and what they trying to do on offense, with wayne gone they lost their ability to mask this shit with him making plays on 3rd down.

The Colts are taking one of the game's PREMIER QB's, Luck, and running the offense as if he is merely a game manager. It's almost comical.

Teams that lost the spread by 30+ are 71-54 ATS the following game.

Division home dogs are 30-54 ATS on primetime games.

Luck 7-0 ATS off a loss.

Colts 16-4 SU last 20 meetings.

Indy 23-10 ATS last 33 when a road fave of 3 or less.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean here, it doesn't seem that way to me, but maybe I'm missing something.

Here are Luck's pass attempts by game this season: 23, 43, 26. 35. 29. 30, 38, 40, 47. The 26 was against SF, where they dominated and didn't exactly have to throw the ball much. Unless you think that Luck should be throwing it, on average, about 45-50 times a game, how are these "game manager" stats?

He's also been sacked 22 times in his 9 games, so you can add almost 3 pass attempts/game to his average (of 35/game) if you'd like. Then he has 32 rush attempts, which you would imagine a vast majority of those runs were on broken down pass plays. I'm not sure how many were desgined QB runs, but it can't be more than a handful of those 32 attempts. So he has roughly 45-50 more passing plays that he was either sacked on, or took off and ran the ball. His 35 pass attempts per game would go up to 40 a game if we call it 45 more passing plays. Game managers don't throw the ball 40 times a game, or more accurately have 40 passing plays called a game.

Yeah, Luck's not a game manager. Lately, he's been an inaccurate passer. He's been off.

Keep taking the t rich under prop until they stop offering it. He continues to lose reps and doesn't do shit when he gets the ball. The yards have been dropping every week but even at 46.5 its still the best bet tonight IMO

Thursday Night Football

Indianapolis @ Tennessee

Thursday night's over-under is 42 points, the third lowest of Week 11. Vegas' prognosticators obviously aren't anticipating a high-scoring game. This a matchup to avoid for fantasy leaguers beyond usual must-starts. ... Coach Chuck Pagano emerged from Sunday's 38-8 humbling by St. Louis with a pledge to run more despite the fact that Indy's 2013 offensive weakness has been its rushing attack. The interior O-Line play has been dismal to be kind, and alleged lead back Trent Richardson has failed to top 4.0 yards per carry in a game all year. It's a reminder that Andrew Luck's fantasy value is being held hostage by playcalling that prioritizes a run-based philosophy over the reality that Indianapolis' offense is far more productive with the football in Luck's hands. While Luck can compensate in a given game with sheer playmaking ability, he currently ranks 16th in the NFL in pass attempts and eighth in fantasy quarterback scoring. Now taking on the Titans' top-eight pass defense, Luck is a low-end QB1. Tennessee has held enemy signal callers to a combined 7:8 TD-to-INT ratio through nine games. ... Luck's target distribution since Reggie Wayne tore his ACL in Indy's Week 7 win over Denver: T.Y. Hilton 21; Coby Fleener 15; Griff Whalen 14; Darrius Heyward-Bey 13; T-Rich 8; Donald Brown and LaVon Brazill 7; Stanley Havili 5. ... Soaking up targets and floating around the formation in a manner that makes him very hard for defenses to bracket, Hilton is the lone fantasy must-start among Luck's pass-catching corps. Through two games as Indy's No. 1 receiver, Hilton has delivered stat lines of 7-121-3 and 7-130.

The Titans' defensive weakness is versus the run, where they rank 21st and have coughed up 12 rushing scores, tied for the second most in football. Unfortunately, Indianapolis' lack of run-game efficiency and shared backfield usage make committee partners Richardson and Donald Brown dicey flex plays. In two games since the Colts' Week 8 bye, T-Rich has played 79 snaps and handled 18 touches, gaining 88 yards. Brown has played 51 downs and turned 13 touches into 112 yards. Richardson has particularly suffered due to Indianapolis' tendency to fall behind early in games. Ultimately, there hasn't been a more disappointing NFL player in real life or fantasy this year. ... Just 23rd in per-game tight end scoring, Fleener does have a favorable matchup against a Titans defense allowing the tenth most fantasy points to tight ends. Although he is far from an every-week starter, you could do worse than Fleener if you're into TE1 streaming or experiencing an injury-related crunch. ... A blocking-possession receiver in Indy's offense, Heyward-Bey has five drops over his last five games and has failed to reach 60 receiving yards in any week this season. DHB could score a touchdown against the Titans and still wouldn't be worth a roster spot in 10- or 12-team leagues. ... Whalen and Brazill are rotating in Hilton's old No. 3 wideout role. Small (5'11/185) and slow (4.55), Whalen is well off the re-draft fantasy radar. Brazill has talent to stretch defenses vertically, but isn't getting enough snaps. He's been a 35% player since the bye.

Editor's Note: Rotoworld's partner FanDuel is hosting a one-week $300,000 Fantasy Football league for Week 11. It's $25 to join and first prize is $25,000. Starts Sunday at 1pm ET. Here's the link.

With Jake Locker (Lisfranc) on injured reserve, Ryan Fitzpatrick will quarterback Tennessee's offense the rest of the way. The Titans managed point totals of 17 and 13 in Fitzpatrick's Weeks 5-6 starts. He's just barely worth two-quarterback-league consideration against Indianapolis' No. 18 pass defense. ... Expect the Titans to devise a run-heavy game plan with Chris Johnson in the featured role and Shonn Greene as his "big back" change of pace. Although CJ?K is coming off a discouraging Week 10 performance adversely influenced by game flow, he still has 212 yards and two TDs on his last 42 carries (5.05 YPC) and will square off Thursday night with Indy's 26th-ranked run defense. In the three games this season where Fitzpatrick has played extensively, Johnson has averaged four catches for 43 yards. Johnson's "floor" is raised when he's being worked into the pass game, and he has been recently. He's a quality RB2 with upside. ... Greene typically needs his team to grab a lead and ride the running game to pay dividends as a flex start, but he's never a terrible bet for a goal-line plunge as Tennessee's designated short-yardage vulture. Since the bye two weeks ago, Greene is averaging 11 touches for 49 yards per game.

Fitzpatrick's 2013 target distribution: Kendall Wright 27; Delanie Walker 18; Nate Washington 17; Johnson 15; Justin Hunter 11; Kenny Britt and Damian Williams 8; Greene and Taylor Thompson 1. ... Hunter is a player for 14- and 16-team leaguers to monitor. At 6-foot-4, 196 with 4.36 wheels and a 40 1/2-inch vertical, Hunter drew A.J. Green comparisons coming out of college. With Williams (quad) on the shelf, Hunter will be Tennessee's No. 3 receiver against Indianapolis. ... Washington has topped 62 yards in 2-of-9 games and scored a touchdown in 1-of-9 this season. He has some big-play ability, but owners should have a more reliable WR3 rostered at this point in the fantasy season. ... Wright's statistics in Fitzpatrick's three games of extensive play: 7-78, 5-69; 6-74. Wright has led Tennessee in receiving in each of those contests, and is always the best fantasy bet among Titans pass catchers. He's a rock-solid WR3 ... Walker is coming off his most productive fantasy box score (4-62-1) in a Tennessee uniform. He remains an undesirable TE1 taking on a Colts defense permitting the seventh fewest fantasy points to tight ends.

Score Prediction: Colts 23, Titans 17

Word on the street is there's a T-Rich orgy video floating around out there. No wonder he sucks, guy's exhausted.

Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans +3.0 *covers

both these teams tonight are in a world of hurt.

I feel the same way. I really want to bet the Titans b/c I fully expect every sucker to line up on the Colts and this seems like a spot where the public tends to get crushed but I can't bring myself to do it.

Andrew Luck played with a bunch of scrubs and nerds and Stanford and was damn good. Colts still got players, think people are undervaluing Luck, if anything. Kinda shocked.

The fact Indy swept the 'series' last season somewhat further validates that the Titans may have been looking ahead.

Could be but the Titans have been terrible in the division the past few years but they really should have been the team that swept Indy last year, Colts frankly had no business winning either game. Titans made a ton of mental mistakes last week which indicates they weren't in the game mentally.

A lot of their mistakes were preventable but on the flip side Jax also played like shit and any other team in the NFL would have beat the Titans by 10+ with similar opportunities.
