Week 11 Discussion

C-MAN

Pretty much a regular
No discussion thread yet for the week or TNF so let's get it started.

Amazing variance for Car L3 games:

Outscoring opponents 48-10 in the 1H
Being outscored 40-12 in the 2H

Is it just playing conservative in the 2H with a lead and relying on their defense? Could be, but that didn't work so well last week. NO coming off a heartbreaking loss - Car 1H could be in play. NO in a teaser also looks pretty solid as I have no faith in Car being able to play a full game and not do something stupid. Even if Car builds a lead NO's pass offense should keep them in the game.

Pretty amazing that a team like NO who has historically been a good home team is now 6-0 ATS in their L6 road games.

Scam in a great spot, may play - may not. Should be a 10+ win for Carolina.

Almost done with this league though.

very surprising.

Despite trailing 10-0, NO should have won that game if not for the DEN defense winning it by forcing turnovers. Part of me thinks Siemian is terrible and it made NO look better on defense than they are, but the DEN OL couldn't block them at all.

Anyone know Brady's stats for games played in Cali

him and edleman are both from the area. Probably safe to throw out any past Cali stats when your dealing with chip kelly coaching one of the worst teams in league, but brady has never played in san fran before. This has the makings of a 40+ to teens at most game. Belicheck is a master of taking away the other teams best weapon and I believe tomorrow that focus will be on kaps legs. T smith is out, if you can figure out how the niners move the ball Im all ears. Pats first half bet is best bet imo.

My other favorite bet is lions over 47.5. So many ways for this game to fly over. One thing you can pretty much guarantee is this will not be a ground game grind. 4 tds for stafford and garbage king will keep up. marvin and hurns yardage props.

So thats pats 1st half, lions over 47.5, marvin jones and allen hurns over yardage props. Edleman is going to catch a dozen balls tomorrow, whatever the line is on that take it...yardage to....td to

dez yardage and td assuming the jimmy smith doubtful tag rules him out otherwise scrap those.

any and all james starks props they will be underpriced.

that's all I got, not actually betting any of these directly but I got over 30k in dfs action going tomorrow with the most lineups ive had to date and these guys are in a lot of them.

Wow, good luck man. Always like hearing your stuff regarding individual players. :shake2:

David Carr last QB #1 overall pick to win his first NFL start. Since 2002, QB's taken first overall are 0-9 in their first start.

Pats concern me. See last year (when they had Collins & Jones on D), after the game of the season in Denver which they lost, played Philly as a 14 Pt fave. They lost SU. This just has the makings of that again.

That was Chip Kelly beating the pats in Gillette LY and the pats lost at home last week. Doubt Belichick has gone a day without reminding the players. And gronk is injured so other players will give max effort

NBA I respectfully disagree. That was the Pats beating the beating the Pats, not Chip beating the Pats. Turnovers & that fucking onside kick screwed them. I don't see Gronk being out as a positive.

I have a feeling Rams D keeps em in the game and Gurley finally gets loose. Been a while since Tannehill has had a Tannehill game.

TY o83.5 receiving yards -115
A.Robinson o78.5 receiving yards +105

I really like KC to win convincingly but hate that Peters is inactive. Could see a TB late Evans bomb to cover.

In a "you've got to be crazy to place this wager" pick, i think Titans/Colts game is staying under the total. Only 1 of the Colts home games went over this number, and both teams are off high scoring games vs GB. Perception is shootout but I think both teams try to come with a solid defensive effort and run game.

Over games I like

Bills/Bengals- The emergence of Woods and a healthy Shady is going to be a great asset to Tyrod, who is coming off his best performance of his short career. Percy in the mix is just enough of a threat to open up the offense a bit (i hope). They still are suspect vs a committed run game, though I'm not sure the Bengals attack them on the ground. Darby has supposedly had a great week practicing, as his starting job is in question... I think he gets roasted the second AJ is matched up 1 on 1. Eifert is a matchup nightmare for Buffalo (look at solid TEs vs Bills teams). Eifert may actually be the best DFS player to target in this matchup..

Some legit concerns over the Bills being without Wood for the year, as he was the most seasoned veteran & clear leader of the offensive. Have to trust that the line will be able to run block for Shady or the over will be toast. This is agame where Rex is up against the wall and has called out the defense. In the end I think they get the win but on the back of the offense.

Packers/Skins over looks good to me. Win or lose I think GB puts up 28+ and the Skins can put up the rest. Super public though

You will lose 60-63% of the time if you back the skins as home favorites :hang:

Since 2005

ATS:49-76-3 (-0.83, 39.2%)

they just showed the set and Collinsworth/Costas both had their hair whipping around and papers nearly blowing off the desk. Looked pretty windy to me.

yeah, i wasn't trying to say it wasn't windy out there, just that it wasn't as bad...but it definitely has me nervous for my total. wishful thinking on my part

remind yourself that Washington is playing against the GB defense and you'll feel much better haha

Thought that this was interesting:
MEXICO CITY – As the National Football League seeks to further broaden its international reach with Monday’s clash between the Oakland Raiders and Houston Texans, the match-up is already guaranteed to be the high point of the season in one regard.

Azteca Stadium sits at 7,280 feet above sea level, higher than Denver’s Sports Authority Field at Mile High, which is by far the NFL’s most-elevated venue at 5,280 feet. The height, plus the atmospheric conditions of Mexico’s capital, could cause significant issues for the players.

“Azteca Stadium is the worst place to ever play a sporting event,” former United States national team soccer star Eric Wynalda told USA TODAY Sports.

“You can’t breathe. The pollution is so bad that if you don’t have some form of rain that’s brought all that down you are going to be sucking wind.

“They (will) break a record for how many oxygen masks they have on the sidelines. The combination of being that high up with pollution is just devastating to the body.”

The U.S. soccer teams Wynalda played on are among many sporting visitors to the venue that have struggled desperately. The altitude of Mexico City, added to the smog that accumulates in the bowl-like natural topography that surrounds it, gives home teams a huge advantage.

Both the Raiders and Texans are in the same position of unfamiliarity, each being coy on the measures they are using to combat the elements. Local sports medicine and respiration doctor Jorge Avendano Reyes warned that the players are in for a rough ride.

“There can be headaches, dizziness, sensation of fatigue, accelerated heartbeat, hyperventilation,” Reyes said. “We can also have respiratory symptoms, when we are exposed often to the pollution.

“The amount of oxygen that reaches the cells decreases, leading to the faster heartbeat and cardiac activity. The body tries to ventilate more quickly.”

The Azteca is an iconic venue in Mexico, the only stadium to have hosted two soccer World Cup finals. Teams familiar with the surroundings claim that the complaints of visitors are nothing but sour grapes. Yet science suggests otherwise.

Reyes said bigger players such as linemen would find things more testing than leaner athletes, while adding that typical oxygen masks may do little to help aid respiration.

“We’re on an equal playing field,” Texans offensive lineman Duane Brown said. “No one’s more used to the altitude than the other team, so we’re all going out there with the same struggle, if there will be a struggle.”

Some players believe the slower pace of American football, rather than the constant movement of soccer, may help lessen the effects. Wynalda disagrees.

“You don’t really feel it until you stop and when your heart starts to beat and tries to slow down,” Wynalda said. “You just have these moments where you click out. You almost feel like you are going to pass out. The players stop for a second, you try to catch your breath, and then it is almost like you’ve just had a very long blink, and something bad happens.

“For American football I really am curious to see how these guys handle it. It is going to have a massive effect on their body. These are some big bodies out there, 300 pounds people who are trying to get oxygen into their muscles and to their brains. I think you will see a lot of delay of game penalties.”

Conventional wisdom suggests that teams should either come in two weeks early to allow the body to adapt to the conditions – or very late to reduce the amount of time for the elements to make an impact. Given that the former option was impossible, both teams were due to arrive on Sunday.

Completely forgot that the game tonight was in Mexico City. Not even sure what to make of what that will do to the game

really feel like things are going to come to a halt in the 2h...like the under as guys start to break down from altitude and pollution

This screams 2H under.
