Week 10 M*A*S*H Report: Return of the Beast Leads Injury Headlines
Jacksonville and Chicago are two teams who will benefit from the return of a key player. Meanwhile, the Bengals and Browns are two teams who bettors may not want to trust with their money.
Jaguars vs Colts
Running back Leonard Fournette has basically missed all of Jacksonville’s miserably disappointing season. He injured his hamstring during the season opener, tried but failed to come back on September 30, and has sat out ever since. This week, he practiced every day in full and is ready to come back. Jacksonville sorely missed the centerpiece of its offense. Fournette is built to attract the focus of the defense and thus help Jacksonville’s meager passing attack, to absorb contact, and to grind out yards in between the tackles in order to sustain drives and wear out the opposing defense. Last year, Jacksonville ranked fifth in time of possession. This season, it ranks 28th in the category. With less time of possession, the Jags’ D is also suffering more injuries and performing worse because of the extra load. Having Fournette back helps Jacksonville on both sides of the ball. Despite what people say, Jacksonville’s defense is still really good. It has allowed the second-least amount of touchdowns. If Jacksonville’s offense can help the team to start ahead, opposing teams will be forced to play catch-up and be more vulnerable to Jacksonville's defense, which isn’t accruing the same number of sacks as last season, but still pressures the opposing quarterback more than any other team. The Jags have a fighting chance to cover as small road dogs despite second-best cornerback AJ Buoye and backup corner Quenton Meeks being ruled ‚out.‘ The Colts could miss a starting right tackle, a starting corner, a backup defensive end, and receiver Ryan Grant. All four will probably be game-time decisions. They will miss a pair of backup tight ends and a backup safety.

Falcons vs Browns
Cleveland’s defense could be in serious trouble. Cornerback E.J. Gaines was placed on Injured Reserve. He started for the team after an injury to another corner. Also, captain and linebacker Christian Kirksey joins him on IR. He began playing middle linebacker after Joe Schobert suffered an injury. Schobert ls listed as ‚questionable‘ as are corner Denzel Ward and safety Damarious Randall. A pair of offensive linemen and tight end David Njoku are also maybes.
Lions vs Bears
One team will miss its respective defensive superstar, the other won’t. Top cornerback Darius Slay has been ruled ‚out‘ for Detroit. Chicago, meanwhile, will get wide receiver Allen Robinson back, who has been practicing in full all week. He’ll have a much easier time without Slay across from him. Detroit will also miss starting guard T.J. Lang and running back Kerryon Johnson is listed as ‚questionable.‘ Chicago superstar linebacker Khalil Mack is back in full force. He had tried to play through injury in weeks 6 and 7 and then missed the last two weeks.
Bills vs Jets
Sam Darnold will miss this game due to a foot injury. His absence is actually a good thing for the Jets. The rookie had thrown 14 interceptions to 11 touchdowns. His backup Josh McCown is a veteran who produced a 2:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio for the Jets last season. For Buffalo, the quarterback position is drastically less certain, Derek Anderson has been ruled ‚out‘ because he is still going through the concussion protocol. Josh Allen has been limited in practice because of his elbow and likely won’t be fit. Either remaining quarterback—Nathan Peterman or Matt Barkley-- has thrown at least nine more interceptions than touchdowns in fewer than 270 pass attempts.
Saints vs Bengals
The Saints signed Dallas’ former top receiver Dez Bryant to help bolster its receiving corps. Bryant, though, tore his achilles in practice and won’t be able to help the Saints at all. Defensive end Marcus Davenport, who had accrued four sacks in five games, will also miss this game. The Bengals have problems, too, though. Top wide receiver A.J. Green will be absent as will defensive starters Vontaze Burfict, Darqueze Dennard, and Nick Vigil. Star linebacker Burfict had had 101 combined tackles in 11 games played in 2016.

Star tight end Rob Gronkowski has been limited in practice all week due to ankle and back issues and was just ruled 'out.‘ Running back Sony Michel, linebacker Dont’a Hightower, and a pair of offensive linemen are listed as ‚questionable‘ for the Pats. For the Titans, stating right tackle Jack Conklin has been ruled ‚out.‘ Linebacker Derrick Morgan, defensive tackle Bennie Logan, and Tennessee’s second- and third-best wide receivers in terms of receptions and yards may join him.
