Week 1 in the FCS

Pitt is pretty strong offensively. WVU not sure how strong, but they play a weaker opponent. RM probably will be shut out.

Might see if I can find a good number on North Dakota team total Under. 1st game, new QB, new HC (same OC), WRs? Think they struggle to score.

RM 0 pts is +400 ... I don't know if I want to put my money where my mouth is - I don't know anything on WV other than who their new coach is

Wash St up 7 points at BM from 9.5 115 at FDwhich is what I have

Yes, I'm the only one taking increasingly higher Idaho numbers. I like games we can both win, like the Laf-BG game, so maybe this is one too. Hope the TVapp.to or whatever works that Frank suggested, I'll need it tonight for this CW game

I don’t like how BM posts bits and pieces of FCS at a time on gameday based on times

especially now with the competition. When I first did FCS in 2023 they were the leader in line releases that year at least

We get CW here which is nice as they typically carry west coast ACC action at night once conference season gets underway

NDSU shuts out The Citadel

Richmond gives Lehigh a game, but Mountain Hawks better team offensively for sure

Kent nearly lost again to FCS

Pitt blows out Duquesne

Navy blows out VMI

Georgetown blows out Davidson

Stonehill and Sacred Heart might’ve been the lowest scoring game of the day (12-7 SHU). SH was at about the 7 in the final seconds, clock running, they had a false start with about :10/:11 seconds to go and refs did the run off game over.

Wouldn’t say that WVU was quite as good as anyone might’ve expected, just 10-3 HT, but they got their eventually 45-3

BC blows out Fordham

William & Mary was tight, with Furman coming up with the 23-21 win (both dogs would’ve covered the opening and closing lines).

Butler – UNI was close for a while then UNI pulled away

UConn blows out CCSU

Valpo gets their biggest win since 1958 beating Virginia Lynchburg 67-10

Tennessee Tech rolls past Cumberland

Northern Colorado only beat Chadron St 17-3 and were outgained!

Jackson and Hampton was tighter than expected

Louisville led 48-7 end of 3Q, but won 51-17

Air Force handily beats Bucknell with a couple big plays passing and a D score

Holy Cross nearly pulled off the upset at NIU

Iowa State and Oregon beat USD and MSU by combined 114-20 and USD and MSU are among the very very best the FCS has

Maine gave Liberty a game with Liberty being held without a TD for nearly the entire 1H

FAMU has fallen on hard times, lost to Valley last year and open this year losing to Howard

Arkansas rolls Alabama A&M

Memphis wins big vs UTC

NC A&T and Tennessee State were in a close one

Speaking of close one, Southern barely escaping Valley?

ETSU handles Murray after it being close for a bit

NCCU, one of the top HBCUs and MEAC schools, for a second straight year struggles with a mid to upper mid CAA team

GW beats WCU. Think WCU QB was hurt or pulled

OU lackluster win, kind of vs Illinois State. Held them to 3, but only 35 from Sooners?

Morehead only led Allen 24-21 before kind of pulling away in the 4Q

Webber International (NAIA) beats Stetson

Iowa, oh Iowa. I feel bad for Mark Gronowski. I shouldn’t because his piss poor play cost me money! But I do. He was terrible!

Presbyterian beat Wofford last year, which was a huge upset historically speaking even though Wofford is down as a program. But Mercer is not down, defending SoCon champs and the Blue Hose beat them 15-10 as 22.5 pt dogs on the close. Somebody liked the Hose as line dropped some before kickoff

South Carolina State only beats Wofford 16-15 despite a 414-142 ttl yard edge!?

JMU handles Weber

South Dakota State beats Sacramento State 20-3 but it never even felt that close. Dismal showing by Sac St O especially at QB

Ark State handles SEMO

I need to go back and watch this one on replay, but Kansas State needs game winning TD drive in final minute! Eric Schmit year 1 putting the MVFC on notice.

Bovada put up some live lines and team totals for Southern Illinois and Thomas More. But they thought Thomas More, who is Dll, was St Thomas, who is Dl FCS. So easy pickings there taking SIU -mid30s and ttl Over low 40s thank you very much!

Morgan plays close with South Alabama

McNeese rolls in return of coach Viator

Nicholls played great early, but Troy got it going and wins comfortably but no cover, game goes Over ☹

Florida 55-0 nothing to see here I guess

UIW rebounds with a win vs EWU, but was just a 3 pt game for a long time until UIW won by 10

Austin Peay Austin Peay DOMINATES MTSU!

WKU rolls UNA

Vandy wins big over Charleston Southern who kicked a very late FG to make the game go Over opening numbers thank you very much

SLU O has a long long way to go, OL, but especially QB for such a veteran QB Camp to lack awareness in the pocket and be such a poor decision maker. Not sure what the future holds for them now after being bullish on them before the season started.

Texas Tech did what Texas Tech should do vs UAPB, which UAPB was somewhat respectable lower tier SWAC team last year, but the guys that made them so are gone.

BYU…oh Portland State been shutout in 2 games this year to the tune of 111-0! Barney ball LOL

Grambling at Langston, no clue, I assume Grambling won?

Cal Poly wins big vs San Diego, who they have often struggled with (lost to them last year). SD was supposed to be good this year.

PV beats Texas Southern with a TD pass on the final play of the game! Would’ve been good to see what the post game handshake was like (coaches talked shit leading up to game)

North Texas blows out Lamar who probably is not as bad as that score makes it look they are

Tulsa was a small fav vs ACU, won 35-7

UT Rio Grand Valley (UTRGV) wins their first ever game vs Sul Ross 66-0!

Southern Utah gets revenge vs Idaho State for a loss that is laregely believed kept them out of the playoffs last year

Bryant plays a close one with New Mexico State?

SMU wins 42-13 vs East Texas A&M, eh

Utah Tech nearly beats Davis! UT led 24-7, UCD won 31-24!

NAU hangs tough with ASU

Idaho – Wazzou, oh. Great crowd for these two close proximity schools. Idaho traveled well and made the place loud as the Vandals nearly pulled off the upset. Although they never led it was 0-0 after 1Q, 7-0 HT and 10-10 with 1min left, but Wazzou QB Potter led his team down for the game winning FG with :03 left. Sloppy game. Turnovers, penalties. Great D by both sides.

So there we have it. FCS vs FBS ATS – Thurs 6-3 – Fri 2-2, 1 outright win (Tarleton) – Sat 15-18, 1 win outright win (Austin Peay) = 23-23

I will have a week 2 thread up Monday, but I will be doing a long drive again this week and afterwards may not be able to post again until Wednesday night or even Thursday. I'm fearful to miss opening numbers. Surely our friends here will keep us informed. Was a super fun week. I was modestly down week 0 and games Thursday did not go as planned, but Friday and Saturday were great. Hundreds of bets in typical fashion. Even placed a few with the local to keep that relationship going for year 30! Wow
